Established in 1997 through a merger between the United Nations Drug Control Programme and the Centre for International Crime Prevention, UNODC operates in all regions of the world through an extensive network of field offices. UNODC relies on voluntary contributions, mainly from Governments, for 90 per cent of its budget. \r\n\r\nUNODC is mandated to assist Member States in their struggle against illicit drugs, crime and terrorism. In the Millennium Declaration, Member States also resolved to intensify efforts to fight transnational crime in all its dimensions, to redouble the efforts to implement the commitment to counter the world drug problem and to take concerted action against international terrorism. \r\n\r\n",

"description": " Equity Group Foundation [EGF] was established in 2006 in recognition of the need to scale up the existing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by the Equity Bank Group.\r\n\r\nThe Foundation acts as the institutional home for the Group’s social initiatives and interventions. Since its inception, the Foundation has significantly enhanced the coordination of CSR interventions for Equity Group. The Foundation’s aim is to catalyze the socio-economic prosperity of the people of Africa by giving opportunity to the millions at the bottom of the pyramid to be incorporated into the modern economy.\r\n\r\nHaving demonstrated scalability, impact and high return on investment, the Foundation has started forging partnerships with development organizations who wish to do good to society without duplicating effort and/or investing in infrastructure. This innovative and creative vehicle has fundamentally transformed the concept of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.\r\n\r\nWhile Equity Group Foundation champions the social economic transformation of the people of Africa and seeks partnerships along six cluster thematic areas, Equity Bank provides the infrastructure of delivery hence reducing the operational costs for the Foundation and increasing the rate of return on any social investment.",

"description": "At CDI we focus on the global challenges of secure & healthy food, sustainable markets, adaptive agriculture, ecosystem governance and conflict, disaster & reconstruction. We link cutting-edge processes of innovation and learning with Wageningen UR's world-leading scientific and technical expertise.\r\n\r\nOur work fosters collaboration between citizens, governments, businesses, NGOs and the scientific community. Our worldwide network of partners and clients links with us to help facilitate innovation, create capacities for change and broker knowledge.\r\nA crossroads - people, planet, profit\r\n\r\nThe coming decades will be a crossroads in human development. We have only one earth and our demands on the environment are simply too high. At the same time billions of our fellow humans have a right to escape poverty and improve their well-being. New ways are needed to manage climate change, ensure enough healthy food for all, tackle poverty and preserve vital ecosystems. This will demand dramatic changes in how the global agri-food system works and in how land, water, forestry and fishery resources are used. We will need to rethink the ways we consume and produce, and reshape markets to create the right incentives for sustainable and equitable development.\r\n\r\nCDI is committed to working with organisations and individuals who seek inspiration and opportunity on the road of innovation and change. By linking research and practice, we help to create new models of business, new forms of governance and policy, and new partnerships for change that balance the needs of people, planet and profit.\r\nBeyond simple solutions - coping with a complex world\r\n\r\nWe understand that our partners and clients have to cope with an increasingly complex and unpredictable world. We support them to develop the capacities, leadership qualities and learning processes needed to be creative, adaptive and responsive in such a rapidly changing world. We specialise in processes that link technological opportunities with social, economic and political understanding to create holistic ways of tackling complex problems.",

The organisation was established in 2012 in response to the growing importance of markets as a mechanism for economic growth and poverty reduction in Kenya. KMT's goal and mission is embodied in its motto: \"better markets, better lives.\r\n\r\nCurrently, KMT is carrying out activities in the agricultural inputs, media, water, livestock, dairy and seed sectors as well as in various agricultural supply chains. The target is to improve relationships between players in a whole market system so that they can interact better with each other in a more sustainable way. KMT is also working with the government of Kenya and other key stakeholders to improve policy systems especially targeting smallholder farmers and small business owners.\r\n\r\nOur Vision\r\n\r\nTo be a centre of innovation that will reduce poverty through the transformation of markets",

Each year Danida endows partner countries with more than 15 billion Danish Kroner in development assistance. On these pages you can see how some of this money is utilised in Kenya.\r\n\r\n“The right to a better life” is the name of the new strategy for Denmark’s development cooperation which aims to combat poverty and promote human rights. All people have the right to a life with equal opportunities. Human rights are therefore the backbone of the strategy. Economic growth is central to the strategy, but growth should be green and promote social progress in order for it to contribute to improving the lives of poor people and their ability to create a better life for themselves.",

"description": "Centre for Child Rights and Development – CCRD an organisation based at Chennai was established in the year 1998 and is registered under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. The Board of Trustees consists of five members who all have a long experience and expertise on human rights, child rights and sustainable development issues. \r\nAs a partner Organisation of ICCO/ Kerkinactie-The Netherlands since 2002 CCRD has been implementing programmes as a child rights organisation to support NGO’s, Campaigns & Networks of Child Rights and the Government of Tamil Nadu by providing Capacity Enhancement Trainings along with documentation and information dissemination services, including advocacy initiatives for influencing public policy and law including its effective implementation. This support from ICCO/kerkinactie over the years has enabled CCRD to establish itself as a “Resource Centre for Child Rights” at the State level supporting NGO’s working in different districts of Tamil Nadu including various campaigns and networks both at the national level and state level. The funding for the Resource Centre activities all these years has been mainly provided by ICCO/Kerkinactie-The Netherlands. \r\nThe need for CCRD to sustain itself as a “State level Resource Centre on Child Rights” on a long term basis, emanates from the experience of working with different NGO’s across the state, children themselves and specially targeted groups like representatives of local bodies, Anganwadi workers, Teachers, SHG leaders, Students of Social Work & Law, Academicians, Government officials and UN Agencies. This experience over the years has provided adequate intellectual stimulation and reflection opportunities to CCRD to gain a deeper understanding to intensify the existing Campaign, Advocacy and Social Mobilization initiatives in Tamil Nadu to promote and protect children’s rights. Further and most importantly CCRD has the goodwill and support of more than 75 NGOs organisations spread across different districts of Tamil Nadu and good rapport with academic institutions, government agencies, UN organisations like ILO, UNICEF and leadership positions in important campaigns & networks both at the state level and national level to implement programmes towards ensuring the “best interest of children”. All the projects are predominantly aimed at empowering women and children to live a healthy and independent life and contribute positively towards creating a healthy and enriched society. \r\n",
