We live in a world where economic means are very unequally divided. At least you can independently make sure that a part of our means ends up where you think it would be most useful!” - Anna Chojnacka.\r\n\r\n“Through the website you can choose yourself which projects you want to support, so you know exactly where your 1% is going. The website combines Web 2.0 elements with the rise of people and organisations who want to contribute to development cooperation, and is therefore really in itself a form of International Cooperation 2.0” – Bart Lacroix.\r\n\r\n1%Club is a marketplace that connects smart development projects with people, money and knowledge around the world. Based in Amsterdam, it is focused on engaging individuals and groups to commit one per cent of their time and money to international development projects.",

"description": "AIDS Foundation East-West (AFEW) is a Dutch, non-governmental, public health organisation working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) to reduce the impact of HIV among vulnerable populations.\r\n\r\nFounded in the Netherlands and launched on 1 December 2001, AFEW is considered an international authority in the field of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV) in EECA, a part of the world that is still largely ignored by major international aid organisations. AFEW is the only non-governmental organisation operating in EECA that was specifically created to address HIV in the region and advocates to make the epidemic a priority in the social and political discourse and to stimulate prompt and appropriate action.\r\n\r\nOur Vision and Core Values\r\n\r\nThe vision of AIDS Foundation East-West is a world in which HIV does not destroy lives through stigma and discrimination and where all people, regardless of their HIV status, have access to healthcare and other services that give them the opportunity to achieve their full potential. As such, through its work, AFEW employs a set of core values.\r\n\r\nAFEW is a learning organisation in the broadest sense of the word\r\nLearning from best-practice experiences elsewhere in the world and from knowledge gained in EECA, AFEW develops innovative tools and approaches adapted to a specific context. AFEW builds upon its own practical experience within the region, strives for ongoing improvements in its practices, and manages and transfers knowledge to the relevant stakeholders.\r\n\r\nAFEW strengthens the capacity of professionals in EECA\r\nAFEW strengthens the capacity of professionals in the region through the adoption of effective methods of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support given the specific circumstances in their countries. AFEW sees its role as providing assistance in such a way that appropriate action is taken, with the objective of strengthening local capacity and ensuring that the final responsibility remains with those in the society itself. \r\n\r\nAFEW is fundamentally a humanitarian organisation\r\nThrough its work practices, AFEW contributes to the development of just, compassionate, open and democratic societies, firmly based on the principles of social justice, which affirms the dignity of each human being and emphasises the need for tolerance and co-operation. \r\n\r\nAFEW is a transparent and accountable organisation\r\nAFEW is fully transparent in terms of its structure, planning, decision-making, reporting and fundraising.\r\n\r\nAFEW believes in compassion and the professionalism of its staff and this is reflected in our actions",

With teaching a staff of over a hundred and a student population of one thousand one hundred and thirty five girls, it is also one of the largest educational institutions in the Maltese Islands. Like all other state secondary level schools in Malta it offers an educational programme which follows the National Minimum Curriculum for Secondary Schools.\r\nThe school (formerly known as St. Mary's Grammar School) is named after Can Gian Piet Agius de Soldanis (1712 - 1770) a pioneer in Maltese linguistics and philosophy. Born in Victoria, Gozo, Agius de Soldanis is mostly remembered as the author of a history book about Gozo: Gozo Antico e Moderno, Sacro e Profano.",

If they do not manage to organise themselves, they will remain powerless on a political level and will be economically disadvantaged. Agriterra’s work is based on the conviction that if they organise themselves, they will be able to take the responsibility of their development into their own hands. "description": "Aids Fonds' mission is \"towards a world without AIDS\". Aids Fonds is there for anyone affected by HIV and AIDS, in the Netherlands and beyond. Aids Fonds finances scientific research; provides prevention and treatment for vulnerable groups; and fights for the rights of people with HIV.\r\n\r\nAids Fonds operates both in the Netherlands and internationally. In its home country, Aids Fonds has been involved in prevention, treatment, care and support for people with HIV and risk groups for 25 years. The unique Dutch approach has proved successful: overcoming taboos and doing everything necessary to tackle smaller outbreaks that could potentially combine to form one huge national epidemic. As a result, we use our expertise to fight the global AIDS problem. \r\n\r\nAIDS hits some groups harder than others – often people who are already in vulnerable situations, like men who have sex with men, drug users, sex workers and ethnic minorities. People with HIV are also vulnerable and frequently have to deal with stigma and discrimination. Aids Fonds fights for these people. The right to prevention, treatment, care and support is central here. \r\n",

"description": "We believe in equal access to public services, reliable infrastructure and a safer environment for everyone. We are convinced that this will happen faster if governments and non-governmental organisations become more effective, accountable and collaborative.\r\n\r\nSince 2008, we’ve worked with over 20 governments and 200 organisations in more than 70 countries to improve the way they implement development projects and make decisions using data. We call them partners.\r\n\r\nWith our combination of tools, services, local expertise and sector knowledge, our partners improve the management of water, sanitation and agriculture, with a strong commitment to accelerating the progress of the sustainable development goals.\r\n\r\nWe operate on a \"not-for-profit, not-for-loss\" basis because we only want to create sustainable change. We build open source software because we believe in collaboration. We’re immensely proud of our team, because we know that people are essential in reaching impact.\r\n\r\nWith our unique approach to development, we help our partners design their projects so that they can capture and understand reliable data which they can act upon. Akvo offers data consultancy and a digital platform to improve the results of your development programmes.\r\n\r\nAkvo offers data consultancy and a digital platform, to support our partners design their projects so that they can capture and understand reliable data which they can act upon.",
