"description": "Stichting Interplast Holland is a charitable and humanitarian organisation which provides reconstructive surgery in developing countries for children and young adults with cleft lips and burn-related deformities. Every year a number of teams of experienced Dutch reconstructive plastic surgeons, operating theatre assistants, anaesthetists and anaesthetists assistants are sent out on missions. The basis for this worldwide plastic surgery teamwork was laid at Stanford University in California where Interplast USA was founded in 1969. Interplast organisations were also founded in Europe, for instance in Germany and Italy. Interplast Holland began in 1991 and is at the moment active in Uganda, Yemen, Nigeria, Rwanda and Indonesia. In the nineteen nineties teams were sent to Vietnam, India and Pakistan among other countries.",

"description": "University of Bogor - Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB or Bogor Agricultural University) is an Indonesian state agricultural university based in Bogor, Indonesia. IPB was established in September 1, 1963 by the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education (Menteri Perguruan Tinggi dan Ilmu Pengetahuan / PTIP) No. 92/1963 which was then approved with Presidential Decree No. 279/1965. It is the only state university focusing on tropical agriculture and life sciences. In December 26, 2000 the Indonesia government endorsed IPB autonomy status based on Government Rules No. 152. This autonomy was fully implemented at the end of 2005. The status enables IPB to manage all the university's assets for academic excellence (including the three principal responsibilities of higher education: education, research, and community services/ empowerment) and entrepreneurial purposes.",

"description": "International Sports Alliance is a non-profit organisation that supports programmes in the field of sport for development and peace. We consider sport an effective tool for development and peace as it provides a regulated and neutral context where emotions such as aggression, anger and sadness, but also joy and happiness can be expressed and reflected upon. It disregards geographical borders and is a universal language that people all over the world understand. Furthermore it is a cost-effective way to reach large audiences of active participants and non-participants. \r\nIn all our activities our overall objective is to improve the capacities and sustainability of local organisations that are located in marginalized and (post)conflict areas. We focus on the needs and requests from local Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) that have a wish to initiate or improve sport for development and peace practices. Within our organisation we emphasize and promote the right for participation for all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, religion or handicap. Among the countries in which we are active are Burkina Faso, Mali, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda, South-Sudan, Surinam and South Africa.\r\n\r\nIn order to use sports as a tool for development and peace it is imperative to develop, organise and structure projects and programmes in such a manner that the positive force of sports can be used. International Sports Alliance offers professional competences to develop and improve the works of sustainable sport for development projects and programmes. We offer academic and professional expertise on sports leadership, communication, project planning, organizational management, lobbying and education. Furthermore, we have an extended national and international network of partners, companies and organisations that support our partners with their expertise, and technical and financial support.",

With support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs these three organisations are working together in eight development countries using sport for capacity development. With this programme Kenya, Mali, Egypt, Mozambique, South-Africa, Indonesia, Surinam and the Palestine areas will be reached. \r\n\r\nSport and culture are an elementary part in a developed society. Sport develops people, increases life circumstances, and stimulates participations and integration; in the Netherlands and in development countries, in involves kids that would otherwise stand on the sidelines. "description": "The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) is advancing trade to improve the economic situation and livelihoods of people across the Islamic world. As an autonomous entity within the Islamic Development Bank Group, the ITFC was formed to consolidate the trade finance business that was formerly undertaken by various windows within the IDB Group. The consolidation of the bank’s trade finance activities under a single umbrella increases the efficiency of service delivery by enabling rapid response to customer needs in a market-driven business environment.\r\n \r\nAs a leader in Shari’ah-compliant trade finance, we deploy our expertise and funds to businesses and governments in member countries of the OIC. Our primary focus is encouraging intra-trade among member countries, and we are active in developing and diversifying Islamic finance solutions to further trade. As an international financial service organization, we have a rigorous commitment to work with our clients in proactive, accountable and efficient ways.\r\n \r\nAs a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, we have unique access to governments and work as a facilitator to mobilize private and public resources to achieve a measurable impact on trade and development. The ITFC helps businesses in Islamic countries gain better access to trade finance and provides them with the necessary education and training to compete successfully in the global marketplace. Our efforts are geared to building stronger trade relations between member countries and giving individuals opportunities to grow and prosper.\r\n \r\nRespect for our Islamic heritage is at the heart of everything we do. We have a clear vision: to share and apply our intra trade skills – linking together people, partnerships and possibilities to make strong connections that empower, expand and enrich economies, communities and individuals. We are robust and responsible at our core but balance this with an energy and drive – seeking out new opportunities that enable the Islamic world to prosper.\r\n \r\nThe four cornerstones of our business – our customers, business partners, member countries and our products and services – provide a solid foundation on which we are building a promising and exciting future. Operating to world-class standards, the ITFC promotes the IDB Groups developmental objectives through its two main pillars, Trade Finance and Trade Promotion, to fulfill its brand promise of 'Advancing Trade & Improving Lives'.",

"description": "\r\nIUCN NL is the Dutch national committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the world's oldest and largest global environmental organization. IUCN publishes the Red List of Threatened Species and is the only environmental organization with official UN Observer Status. IUCN unites more than 1,200 government and NGO members and almost 11,000 volunteer experts in some 160 countries.\r\n\r\nWithin the international IUCN umbrella organization, IUCN NL helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate change and poverty. Nature is fundamental to addressing these problems. Natural capital is the foundation of our economy and our wellbeing. It provides us with food, clean water, fresh air, energy, medicine and a roof over our head. That is why the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems is at the heart of IUCN's mission.\r\n\r\nIUCN currently has 38 Netherlands-based member organizations. In striving towards a sustainable future we work closely with these members and our network of companies, governments, southern NGOs and scientists, sharing knowledge and expertise, executing concrete projects and influencing the political agenda. We focus on three themes: green international cooperation, greening companies, and restoring and conserving nature. \r\n",

"description": "IWaSP’s vision is to provide powerful solutions for water security, while its mission is to inspire joint action.\r\n\r\nIWaSP is an international water security programme which combines global best practices in water stewardship with local know-how. The innovative six-year programme (2013-2018) facilitates partnerships between the public sector, the private sector and civil society. It addresses shared water risks on a catchment scale, while improving stakeholders’ use and management of water and building their capacity to develop their own solutions.\r\n\r\nThe programme is currently active in seven countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa on the African continent and Grenada and Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. IWaSP is receiving a growing demand and expansion into further countries is planned.\r\n\r\nIWaSP enables partners to adopt a comprehensive and cost-effective approach to managing water risks for people, businesses and ecosystems. Typical results include pollution reduction, improved access to water, increased water storage, improved water infrastructure, rehabilitated ecosystems, strengthened water governance, improved catchment specific relationships of key actors and enhanced collaborative action.\r\n\r\nThe Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH works to develop lasting solutions for sustainable development and manages IWaSP on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the UK Department for International Development (DfID).\r\n\r\nThe programme has a total funding of over EUR27m., of which BMZ has committed EUR6m, and DfID a total of EUR21.4m to the programme. Coca-Cola, through the Global Environment and Technology Fund, provides EUR0.2m to support partnerships in Tanzania and Uganda.",
