In 2011, Kenya and four other countries experienced the worst drought in 60 years. Through livestock programs, the poor were able to sell their livestock to earn $2.2 million during the drought. This helped communities survive during the food crisis and water shortage. With the span of more than 50 years of its emergence, FPAB has made a significant achievement in creating awareness among the eligible couples about family planning and annually contributes 7% of the total national family planning performance.
