"description": "The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) is the legal custodian of Ghana’s material cultural heritage (movable and immovable heritage). The Board was established in March 1957 – on the eve of Ghana’s independence - as a result of the merger of the then interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission. The GMMB is governed by the National Liberation Council Decree (NLCD) 387 of 1969, now known as Act 387 of 1969, which was further strengthened by the Executive Instrument (E.I.) 29 of 1973.\r\n\r\nThe history of GMMB can be traced to the establishment of an Ethnographic Museum at Achimota College in 1929. That museum was transferred to the Department of Archaeology at the University of the Gold Coast, when the university was created in 1948. \r\nIn 1952, there was the awareness of the need to conserve the past. The British Colonial government then put in place an ‘Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast’ to facilitate the creation of a national museum.\r\n\r\nThe Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission merged, and this led to the passing of the Museum and Monuments Board Ordinance (GOLD COAST No. 20 of 1957), which established the GMMB.",

In 2007 the ICR became ISCR, the Superior Institutes for Conservation and Restoration and it is also the site of the Superior Training School for Restoration. "description": "The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde is the Danish museum for ships, seafaring and boatbuilding culture in ancient and medieval times.\r\n\r\nThe Viking Ship Hall, the oldest part of the museum, was opened in 1969. It was designed as a large showcase to display the five Viking ships found at Skuldelev. The hall also houses special temporary exhibitions and a cinema, where a film about the excavation of the ships is shown.\r\n\r\nAn extension to the museum, Museum Island, was opened in 1997. The museum boatyard, where visitors can watch shipwrights at work, is located on the island. Café Knarr, Activity center and School Service is also found here.\r\n\r\nThe large collection of traditional Nordic wooden boats is berthed at the harbour on Museum Island. Here you will also find the five reconstructions of the Skuldelev ships. Many of the vessels were built at the museum boatyard, which also maintains them.\r\n\r\nThe Viking Ship Museum carries out investigations before construction projects are commenced under water and along Denmark's coasts, or when the forces of nature uncover items of historical interest on the sea floor. "description": "Founded in the Netherlands in 1965, we have built a long-term, local presence in many of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors work with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development. \r\n\r\nOur mission is to make a lasting difference in the lives of millions of people living in poverty. \r\n\r\nBy sharing our specialist expertise in Agriculture, Energy and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, we contribute to solving some of the leading problems facing the world today – helping to find local solutions to global challenges and sowing the seeds of lasting change. We recognise that sustained poverty reduction requires people living in poverty to both contribute to and benefit from growth while having access to quality basic services. With this in mind, our work focuses on enabling the four factors we have learnt are essential for successful development: inclusive development, systemic change, local ownership, and contextualised solutions.\r\n\r\nNext to our many country offices in Asia, Africa and Latin America, we also have an affiliate office in Washington D.C. SNV USA’s primary goal is to connect North American partners and donors to a global network of technical advisors implementing innovative solutions to alleviate poverty through sustainable and locally-led development.",
