Daarom is het netwerk ook zo georganiseerd. \r\nOverheden, bedrijfsleven, kennisinstellingen en NGO’s maken deel uit van NWP; van drinkwater tot waterbouw, van sanitatie tot satelliettechnologie. Samenwerking en afstemming vindt meestal plaats in kleinere, regionaal of thematisch gerichte netwerken. Door deze samenwerking kan de Nederlandse watersector complete oplossingen bieden voor internationale watervraagstukken en snel reageren op kansen. Het bestuur van het NWP bestaat uit kopstukken van alle delen van de watersector en vormt het hart van het netwerk. Veel landen hebben inmiddels een water partnership naar Nederlands voorbeeld.\r\nHet netwerk wordt ondersteund door het NWP bureau dat de samenwerking binnen de watersector faciliteert en dient als contact- en informatiepunt. Vanwege haar rol als spil in het netwerk is het NWP bureau vaak een partner in overheidsprogramma’s voor de watersector, zoals het Programma Partners voor Water en het ‘Water-OS’ Programma.\r\nHet NWP Better future\r\nUTZ is committed to creating a better, more sustainable world. We are now the largest program for coffee and cocoa and have certification schemes in other commodities including (herbal) tea, rooibos and hazelnuts. The UTZ certified label features on over 20,000 different products across 135 countries. Companies such as Ikea, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Lavazza, Tchibo and many others have already recognized that, by sourcing UTZ certified products, they can build the trust of their customers while supporting a better world.\r\n\r\nA Cross-Cutting Approach\r\nWhile we have seen significant improvements for farmers and their workers through certification, we have also seen that some of the problems they face cannot be addressed by this alone. Issues such as child labor, low wages and climate change require a cross-cutting approach. This means that only when UTZ works together with producers, NGOs, governments and buyers, can these issues really be tackled.
