Then in 1991, through a nationally competitive process, it became a Special Research of the Australian Research Council. \r\n\r\nAs one of only two federally-funded special research centres on Asia in Australia, its brief was to enhance Australia’s understanding of its Asian environments by providing analysis of social, political, cultural, and economic change in East and Southeast Asia. \r\n\r\nThe Asia Research Centre develops several strategies to maintain its role as an internationally recognized leader in research on contemporary Asia. In line with this, key projects in 2000 examined globalization as well as national and local systems of governance, and cross-border policy issues including human impact of animal diseases, environmentally sustainable settlements and reverse migration. \r\n\r\nThe Centre was reconstituted in 2002 as a divisional centre at Murdoch University. Since then its objectives have been to: produce high quality academic research publications for international and domestic audiences; foster the development of high research graduates; and contribute constructively to public policy debate and public understanding on various issues concerning Asia. \r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 747, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1895, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 1715, "latitude": 0.0, "longitude": 0.0, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 1895 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/00/ed/00ed55207850f501cf1a7c34b4b9226a.jpg", "latitude": "0.0", "longitude": "0.0", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2014-01-28T00:00:00+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2016-03-08T09:27:26.539689+01:00", "name": "ASKV Steunpunt Vluchtelin", "long_name": "ASKV Steunpunt Vluchtelingen", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": "", "url": "http://www.askv.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "The ASKV (Amsterdam Refugee Solidarity Committee) and the Centre for Refugee Pipe was founded in 1987. As planned, the Hebron team was able to become an independent organization continuing the work in that city. Today Gaza is the main hub of youth theatre.
