STAD strives to support the education of orphans, following the famous Chinese saying “ feed a hungry man today, he will be hungry; teach him how to fish, he can have food tomorrow; educate his child(ren), you have given him a future”. Orphanage was its main area of concern because of the seemingly endless civil war (1983- 2005) between South Sudan and Sudan which claimed over 2 million lives. HIV/AIDS equally claimed many lives of adults resulting to a fast growing number of orphans with an enormous impact on people living with it.",

FODRA follows a need based and response oriented programme planning and management approach. It believes in methods of micro planning to ensure participatory development and action oriented learning, enhancing the potentials of the underprivileged. In the process, FODRA has been successful in promoting, strengthening and involving the prime programme stakeholders (specially the beneficiaries) as staff, volunteers and motivators. FODRA also gives top priority in promoting women as planner and decision maker to ensure gender equality both in its own programme management structure and in programme targeting. As on today, FODRA has been in a position to claim the project is totally community managed with representation of two-third of staff are either from target community or nearby clusters who understand the nitty-gritty of local issues and situation.",

"description": "The Women and Development Project WADEP) is located in the northern part of the Volta Region since 1995. This initiative came as a result of the abject poverty which was analyzed as multidimensional, gendered, dynamic, complex and specific as a result of the location of the district. Women bear the brunt of this as result of culture. They work longer hours and days and had limited access to income earning opportunities yet are responsible for meeting the needs of the household.\r\n\r\nWomen culturally do not make traditional laws but they turn out to be the gatekeepers or custodians even when they are suppressive or detrimental to their development, they faithfully protect it for continuity.\r\n\r\nThough there is some improvement in the education of women and they are participating in the labour force they are hardly found in the top hierarchy. Women’s participation in decision making about issues that concern them is still a challenge.",

We work through local churches to unlock people's potential.\r\nAt Tearfund, what drives us is a belief that the local church is a powerful force for transformation in communities living in every kind of poverty. Inspired by the example and teaching of Jesus, we recognise that people have deeply interconnected material and spiritual needs, and we seek to meet those needs by working through our local church partners. Churches are at the heart of their communities – full of dedicated, resourceful people who want to make a long-term difference.\r\n\r\nWe work particularly in Africa, Asia and South America – and also across Eastern Europe and the UK. "description": "IWaSP’s vision is to provide powerful solutions for water security, while its mission is to inspire joint action.\r\n\r\nIWaSP is an international water security programme which combines global best practices in water stewardship with local know-how. The innovative six-year programme (2013-2018) facilitates partnerships between the public sector, the private sector and civil society. It addresses shared water risks on a catchment scale, while improving stakeholders’ use and management of water and building their capacity to develop their own solutions.\r\n\r\nThe programme is currently active in seven countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa on the African continent and Grenada and Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. IWaSP is receiving a growing demand and expansion into further countries is planned.\r\n\r\nIWaSP enables partners to adopt a comprehensive and cost-effective approach to managing water risks for people, businesses and ecosystems. Typical results include pollution reduction, improved access to water, increased water storage, improved water infrastructure, rehabilitated ecosystems, strengthened water governance, improved catchment specific relationships of key actors and enhanced collaborative action.\r\n\r\nThe Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH works to develop lasting solutions for sustainable development and manages IWaSP on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the UK Department for International Development (DfID).\r\n\r\nThe programme has a total funding of over EUR27m., of which BMZ has committed EUR6m, and DfID a total of EUR21.4m to the programme. Coca-Cola, through the Global Environment and Technology Fund, provides EUR0.2m to support partnerships in Tanzania and Uganda.",

He lost his life at age 24 during a helicopter-borne mission in Mali. In 1989, his mother Albina du Boisrouvray, his family, and their friends founded FXB to pursue, in the field of development, the values of generosity and compassion that guided his life.\r\n\r\nOur vision is to facilitate the eradication of poverty for vulnerable and marginalized children and their families through creation of an enabling physical and economic environment to lead their lives with self esteem, dignity and economic self sufficiency.",
