"description": "Agua Para el Pueblo (APP) is a Honduran NGO that has been working for 20 years developing water treatment projects while performing with a high degree of professionalism, responsibility, and competence.\r\nAPP’s varied contributions in terms of technologies, boarding methodologies, and conceptual definitions have been important in the development of water treatment sub-sectors in Honduras . Currently, APP is involved in a renovation project that will bring great exposure to the new sector-based judicial system (Ley Marco del Sub Sector de Agua y Saneamiento). This new law includes experimenting with new decentralization and municipal participation efforts on a local level to aid construction, administration, and sustainability of water treatment as well as other environmental systems.\r\nAPP’s technical services have been characterized by their reach beyond construction. We also facilitate cooperation in the areas of research, documentation, evaluation, production of executive materials, and inter-institutional & inter-sector coordination to modernize the Honduran sub-sectors.\r\nActing as the pioneer organization of the civil society in search of solution to the demands of water treatment, APP reiterates its compromise of continuous work, focusing particularly on the less-privileged communities of the rural areas and developing urban zones. APP has promised to arduously work to integrate the family unit as a base towards improving the community, utilizing the skills and dexterity of women and children to allow them to become active participants in community solutions. This way, these two groups can alleviate the burden of lacking the water supply they deserve.",

But unfortunately, disasters caused by human interventions and natural calamities have caused severe damages to the environment, ecology, and biodiversity of the region. Thus human lives and livelihoods have become vulnerable.\r\nIt was in such a situation that in 1999 a group of young energetic and socially committed enthusiasts got together and formed ‘AOSED-An Organization for Socio-Economic Development’ for conserving environment, ecology and biodiversity and ensuring people's right of access to natural resource towards alleviation of poverty.\r\n\r\nMission \r\nConserve environment, ecology and biodiversity. Uphold people's rights of access to common and natural resources towards alleviation of poverty, upholding human rights and good governance.\r\n\r\nVision\r\nDevelop a just, prosperous and environment-friendly Society in which there will be no discrimination whatsoever.",

"description": "Amref is de belangrijkste Afrikaanse gezondheidsorganisatie; in Nederland heten we Amref Flying Doctors. In Afrika heten we Amref Health Africa. ",

"description": "The African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) is an international African organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.\r\n\r\nAMREF's Vision lasting health change in Africa:.\r\nAMREF's mission is to ensure that every African can enjoy the right to good health by helping to create vibrant networks of informed communities that work with empowered health care providers in strong health systems. AMREF has 50 years’ experience in health development. In 1957, three surgeons founded the Flying Doctors Service of East Africa, laying the foundation for what is now one of the continent’s leading health development and research organisations. Today, AMREF implements its projects through country programmes in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and South Africa. Training and consulting support are provided to an additional 30 African countries.\r\n\r\nKnowledge is a core product of AMREF’s activities. AMREF implements projects to learn, and shares this evidence-based knowledge with others to advocate for changes in health policy and practice. Based on the belief that health is a basic human right, AMREF seeks to empower communities to take control of their health and to establish a vibrant and participatory health care system made up of communities, health workers and governments.\r\n\r\nOur Strategic Focus:\r\nAMREF’s strategy seeks to strengthen health systems and to design and enhance interventions that improve people’s access to health through their active participation. Informed by Africa’s health crisis, AMREF’s comparative advantage and five decades’ experience of working with communities and health systems in the region, the AMREF has seven strategic directions : \r\n1. Making pregnancy safe and expanding reproductive health\r\n2.Reducing morbidity and mortality among children\r\n3.scaling up HIV,TB and malaria response\r\n4.Prevention and control of diseases related to water ,sanitation and hygiene\r\n5.Increasing access by disadvantaged communities to quality medical, surgical and diagnostic service\r\n6.Developing a strong research and innovation base to contribute to health improvement in Africa\r\n7.Creating a strong, unified, global AMREF\r\n",

"description": "Aids Fonds' mission is \"towards a world without AIDS\". Aids Fonds is there for anyone affected by HIV and AIDS, in the Netherlands and beyond. Aids Fonds finances scientific research; provides prevention and treatment for vulnerable groups; and fights for the rights of people with HIV.\r\n\r\nAids Fonds operates both in the Netherlands and internationally. In its home country, Aids Fonds has been involved in prevention, treatment, care and support for people with HIV and risk groups for 25 years. The unique Dutch approach has proved successful: overcoming taboos and doing everything necessary to tackle smaller outbreaks that could potentially combine to form one huge national epidemic. As a result, we use our expertise to fight the global AIDS problem. \r\n\r\nAIDS hits some groups harder than others – often people who are already in vulnerable situations, like men who have sex with men, drug users, sex workers and ethnic minorities. People with HIV are also vulnerable and frequently have to deal with stigma and discrimination. Aids Fonds fights for these people. The right to prevention, treatment, care and support is central here. \r\n",

If they do not manage to organise themselves, they will remain powerless on a political level and will be economically disadvantaged. Agriterra’s work is based on the conviction that if they organise themselves, they will be able to take the responsibility of their development into their own hands. Like all other state secondary level schools in Malta it offers an educational programme which follows the National Minimum Curriculum for Secondary Schools.\r\nThe school (formerly known as St. Mary's Grammar School) is named after Can Gian Piet Agius de Soldanis (1712 - 1770) a pioneer in Maltese linguistics and philosophy. Born in Victoria, Gozo, Agius de Soldanis is mostly remembered as the author of a history book about Gozo: Gozo Antico e Moderno, Sacro e Profano.",

We have inspired and enabled marginalized and vulnerable people and communities to find their voice, to make it heard, and to take action to improve their own health and well being. \r\n\r\nVision\r\nPeaceful Northern Ghana where meaningful and sustainable livelihood is attainable by all and poverty and disease are a thing of the past.\r\n\r\nMission\r\nWork in partnership, using participatory communication approaches to improve the health and well-being and eventually the livelihoods of disadvantaged and vulnerable people in communities. \r\n\r\nObjectives\r\n- Strengthen local capacity and support initiatives that enable disadvantaged people to identify and voice their own health and development needs.\r\n- To increase awareness and disseminate information about clean drinking water, good sanitation, and good hygienic behaviour being key determinants of good health.\r\n- Promote attitudes, practices and behaviours that ensure good health and healthy society as a prerequisite for sustainable development in the communities.\r\n- Provide education to the most marginalized people in communities that will enable them demand their social, economic and political rights through lobbying and negotiation with traditional authorities and local government officials\r\n- Provide traditional leaders with capacities for service-oriented leadership and developing consensus in the community around key decisions.\r\n- Promote structures and processes at the local level for collective deliberation between traditional rulers and community members.\r\n\r\n",

As such, through its work, AFEW employs a set of core values.\r\n\r\nAFEW is a learning organisation in the broadest sense of the word\r\nLearning from best-practice experiences elsewhere in the world and from knowledge gained in EECA, AFEW develops innovative tools and approaches adapted to a specific context. AFEW builds upon its own practical experience within the region, strives for ongoing improvements in its practices, and manages and transfers knowledge to the relevant stakeholders.\r\n\r\nAFEW strengthens the capacity of professionals in EECA\r\nAFEW strengthens the capacity of professionals in the region through the adoption of effective methods of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support given the specific circumstances in their countries. AFEW sees its role as providing assistance in such a way that appropriate action is taken, with the objective of strengthening local capacity and ensuring that the final responsibility remains with those in the society itself. \r\n\r\nAFEW is fundamentally a humanitarian organisation\r\nThrough its work practices, AFEW contributes to the development of just, compassionate, open and democratic societies, firmly based on the principles of social justice, which affirms the dignity of each human being and emphasises the need for tolerance and co-operation. \r\n\r\nAFEW is a transparent and accountable organisation\r\nAFEW is fully transparent in terms of its structure, planning, decision-making, reporting and fundraising.\r\n\r\nAFEW believes in compassion and the professionalism of its staff and this is reflected in our actions",
