As an autonomous entity within the Islamic Development Bank Group, the ITFC was formed to consolidate the trade finance business that was formerly undertaken by various windows within the IDB Group. The consolidation of the bank’s trade finance activities under a single umbrella increases the efficiency of service delivery by enabling rapid response to customer needs in a market-driven business environment.\r\n \r\nAs a leader in Shari’ah-compliant trade finance, we deploy our expertise and funds to businesses and governments in member countries of the OIC. Our primary focus is encouraging intra-trade among member countries, and we are active in developing and diversifying Islamic finance solutions to further trade. As an international financial service organization, we have a rigorous commitment to work with our clients in proactive, accountable and efficient ways.\r\n \r\nAs a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, we have unique access to governments and work as a facilitator to mobilize private and public resources to achieve a measurable impact on trade and development. The ITFC helps businesses in Islamic countries gain better access to trade finance and provides them with the necessary education and training to compete successfully in the global marketplace. Our efforts are geared to building stronger trade relations between member countries and giving individuals opportunities to grow and prosper.\r\n \r\nRespect for our Islamic heritage is at the heart of everything we do. We have a clear vision: to share and apply our intra trade skills – linking together people, partnerships and possibilities to make strong connections that empower, expand and enrich economies, communities and individuals. We are robust and responsible at our core but balance this with an energy and drive – seeking out new opportunities that enable the Islamic world to prosper.\r\n \r\nThe four cornerstones of our business – our customers, business partners, member countries and our products and services – provide a solid foundation on which we are building a promising and exciting future. Our core constituency is that section of the illicit drug using community who face the greatest health risks and the most serious human rights abuses, namely injecting drug users and those on opioid substitution programmes.\r\n\r\nWe advocate for an end of global prohibition in the long term, and its replacement with a system of legalised regulation, and immediately for human rights compliant, evidence based drug policies, that will reduce, and hopefully eliminate, stigma, discrimination, and prejudice against people who use drugs. We oppose the criminalisation of people simply on the basis of what drugs they choose to use, and fight to document, expose and stop the human rights abuses that are carried out against the drug using community, whether in the name of drug control, treatment, or security. A special focus of our advocacy is on the impact of repressive legal environment on the spread of HIV amongst the injecting community. We advocate for the revocation of laws that criminalise drug use, and argue for supportive legal environments, as well as for the provision of both needle and syringe exchange, and opioid substitution programmes. We argue that this requires the immediate decriminalisation of people who use drugs.\r\n\r\nUltimately, these objectives can only be achieved by the abolition of the current, unjust, moralising system of global prohibition.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 313, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 184, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 312, "latitude": 12.971606, "longitude": 77.594376, "city": "Bangalore", "state": "Karnataka", "address_1": "#599, 12th Main, Indiranagar, ", "address_2": "HAL 2nd Stage", "postcode": "560008", "iati_country": "IN", "country": 2, "location_target": 184 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/24/24/24241570372ba813b3102c060def3afc.jpg", "latitude": "12.971606", "longitude": "77.594376", "city": "Bangalore", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2010-02-16T14:10:31+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-07-21T12:09:35.469762+02:00", "name": "India Water Portal", "long_name": "India Water Portal", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://indiawaterportal.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+91-8041698941", "mobile": "", "fax": "+91-8041698943", "contact_person": "Vijay Krishna G", "contact_email": "portal@arghyam.org", "description": "The India Water Portal is an open, inclusive, web-based platform for sharing water management knowledge amongst practitioners and the general public. Its mission is to build the capacity of the Loita Maasai to manage their own resources - human, land and livestock - for their own development. In empowering the Loita Maasai, the short term objective is to alleviate poverty and improve the socio-economic status of the community by promoting development initiatives that are relevant to Loita culture and which support their interaction in society. \r\n\"Unreachable\" aptly describes the Loita Maasai pastoralists. They are a subset of the Maasai community whose population of about 30,000 occupies an area of south western Kenya. The region is remote without effective infrastructure. This, combined with Loita's reputation asthe most conservative of the Maasai, has contributed to this their status as one of the nearly 'unreachable' people of the world. \r\nOver the years, ILIDP has seen some evolution in its approaches and intervention.
