"description": "Tweed Shire covers 1303 square kilometres and adjoins the NSW shires of Byron, Lismore and Kyogle, with the NSW/Queensland border to its north where it divides the twin towns of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta.\r\n\r\nWith 37 kms of natural coastline, wetlands and estuarine forests, lush pastoral and farm land, the entire basin of the Tweed River, and mountainous regions containing three world-heritage listed national parks, Tweed boasts a unique and diverse environment.\r\n\r\nCentrepiece of the Shire is Mount Warning, where the sun first hits the Australian continent. The surrounding McPherson, Tweed, Burringbar and Nightcap ranges form the caldera of the fertile Tweed Valley.\r\n\r\nPrior to European settlement, the area was blanketed in sub-tropical forest and was home to the Nganduwal/Minjungbal people. Many of the Shire’s towns and villages derive their names from the language of the local Aboriginal people.\r\n\r\nThe retail, hospitality, agricultural and tourism industries are major employers, while construction, fishing, and light industry are other significant contributors to the local economy.",

The library was initially stocked with donated books from some libraries across the world. Most of the initial set of books in the library do not have local content although are good for general knowledge reading purposes. We were able o successfully raise funds from local and international friends to acquire books recommended by the Ghana Education Service for all levels of education. \r\nTo engage the youth further, BoldSteps has set up the KYTE Centre which serves a multi-purpose location for the youth of Kajelo. BoldSteps, through the centre currently sponsors an U15 football tournament . Football is about the only sport capable of bringing all youth together even without prior announcement or at short notice.\r\n \r\nOur ability to organise the youth even at short notice has been taken advantage of and currently we use that and our over two dozen volunteers to educatepeople with aim of reducing HIV/AIDS Stigmatisation. The Historic Shipwrecks Act applies to Australian waters that extend from the low tide mark to the end of the continental shelf and is administered in collaboration between the Commonwealth and the States, Northern Territory and Norfolk Island. Some Australian shipwreck sites lie within protected or no-entry zones.\r\n\r\nThe Historic Shipwrecks Act is delivered through the Historic Shipwrecks Program. Its objectives are to research, explore, document and protect Australia's historic shipwreck heritage. Each State or Territory program offers different opportunities for public participation as do maritime archaeological volunteer associations that exist in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.",

"description": "The Local Government in Ghana has a long history, which predates before the colonial era where the native authorities (Chiefs) were used to facilitate communication and decision-making in their areas of jurisdiction. After independence, successive governments implemented various forms of Decentralisation and Local Government policies. However, the current decentralisation Policy was initiated in 1988 where the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development functions to promote the establishment and development of a vibrant and well resourced decentralised system of local government for the people of Ghana to ensure good governance and balanced rural based development.",

Galati has regional responsibility for the delivery of safe drinking water and the collection, transportation and purification of waste water; Since the end of 2010, Apa-Canal S.A. Galati has been responsible for the water supply and the waste water disposal in the entire county of Galati and this way it is managing regional water companies in the county. Because of national, regional and local ambitions, Apa-Canal S.A. Galati faces the challenge to improve the existing installations for the production and delivery of drinking water and for the collection, transportation and purification of waste water for the purpose of supplying as many inhabitants in the county of Galati as possible with safe and sustainable drinking water and waste water systems. For the realisation of these ambitions, Apa-Canal S.A. Galati is interested in Water Operator Partnership in which knowledge and experience with respect to drinking water and waste water services is acquired and shared. This partnership can relate to technical, administrative, management and governance affairs.",

"description": "Ghana Young Artisans Movement (GYAM) is a community based organization operating in the Northern Region of Ghana. It is specifically engaged in developmental issues within the rural communities of the Karaga District, the Tamale metropolis, and its peri-urban communities.\r\n\r\nGYAM was founded in 1993 by young graduates from the country’s Polytechnic and Vocational Training institutions in the Northern Region. The formation of the organization resulted from the growing rate of unemployment in the Northern Region among the youth with or without any formal education. GYAM works to alleviate this problem on two fronts, first with our Vocational Skills Training Program which intends to provide self employable skills to socially deprived youth, and secondly through our Community Program which intends to enhance the social well being of deprived communities with social infrastructure development, KVIPS, hand wells, as well as targeting the enhanced social well being of women specifically. Indeed there is a direct correlation between conditions in rural communities- specifically the availability of water and the seeming\r\n subordinate position of women, and those who migrate from these rural areas to the cities only to be forced onto the streets with no means to support themselves.\r\n\r\nGoals of Core Programs\r\nTo encourage a greater quality of live among rural communities in the northern region of Ghana through the provision of vocational skills for unemployed youth. Widen opportunities for communities with greater access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities for public schools and the greater community.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n",

The FNC counts with sustainability policies that impact the coffee growers, focusing mainly in the productive, social and environmental areas .\r\n\r\nThe FNC is a non-profit organization, funded by national and international resources. Among its various projects, it has created an institutional model which allows coffee growers to turn their collective savings into public goods of their own interest. With this sustainability model, since 1927 the FNC has managed to: ensure coffee growers purchased at transparent prices, develop scientific research projects, transfer new technologies to coffee fields, position Café de Colombia as the richest coffee in the world, and implement social programs in alliances in which the national and local governments, certain clients, the multilateral development banks, and international cooperation agencies participate.",
