They work longer hours and days and had limited access to income earning opportunities yet are responsible for meeting the needs of the household.\r\n\r\nWomen culturally do not make traditional laws but they turn out to be the gatekeepers or custodians even when they are suppressive or detrimental to their development, they faithfully protect it for continuity.\r\n\r\nThough there is some improvement in the education of women and they are participating in the labour force they are hardly found in the top hierarchy.
