"description": "1. The mission of the Catholic health services in Uganda is derived from the mission of the Church which has a mandate, based on the imitation of Christ and His deeds, to promote life to the full and to heal. These services are committed to a holistic approach in healing by treating and preventing diseases, with a preferential option for the less privileged.\r\n\r\n2. Since the person is at the centre of all activities of the catholic health services, a basic attitude of respect for the human dignity will be the guideline for all. Therefore the principle of subsidiarity will be applied with equity in all relationships within the catholic health service network.\r\n\r\n3. Justice, universality and equality will mark the work of all catholic health units in Uganda. Their work will be done in a professional way and in a spirit of total dedication and transparency. Human life being sacred, the basic attitude of all personnel in catholic health services will be the healing of the person with total respect for life",

"description": "Close the Gap is an international not-for-profit organisation that actively helps to bridge the digital divide. The objective is to assist in improving local knowledge and putting local talent to use by offering cost-efficient IT-solutions to projects in developing countries.\r\n\r\nIn the industrialised world, computers are replaced every three to four years, meaning that companies are increasingly looking for sustainable ways to replace their used devices. At the same time, millions of computers are needed in developing countries.\r\n\r\nIt is here that Close the Gap creates win-win situations. By supplying developing countries with high-quality refurbished IT equipment that is donated by Western countries, Close the Gap creates practical, social and sustainable solutions that enable people to bring about a true change in their lives through the use of IT.\r\n\r\nSince its founding in 2003, Close the Gap has managed to reinstall tens of thousands of PCs donated by companies in Europe, offering local communities and individuals access to information. With the right tools, people in developing countries can significantly improve the quality of their lives. Access to communication technologies is predominantly vital in enabling them to reach this objective. Computers are used for a large variety of applications and have consequently become an essential part of the personal, educational and professional world. One tends to forget that one of the basic assets provided by computers is access to all kinds of information. Hence, the difference that access to information can make to a person’s life is immeasurable.\r\n\r\nWhen donations are made, Close the Gap’s logistic partner collects the IT equipment. It is then checked by professionals, repaired if needed and reconfigured before it is sent off to a designated project.\r\n\r\nClose the Gap is mostly active in Africa, but also in other developing countries in South-East Asia and South-America. The organisation mainly supports projects in the socio-educational sector, such as schools, universities, hospitals and other programmes focusing on the improvement of educational and information facilities.\r\n\r\nHowever diverse the projects may be, they all have one common denominator: to focus on advancing both the individual and the community within a spirit of social education.",

Each year, our global ministry touches the lives of more than 30 million people. \r\n\r\nHere in Kenya, we've been working with communities for over 25 years, touching the lives of more than one million people. \r\n\r\nOur work is concentrated in two areas: community development and disaster relief. \r\n\r\nThis means we work with communities through sustainble and long term projects, providing support and the hope of a future. \r\n\r\nWhen a disaster strikes, ADRA Kenya is also able to provide lifesaving relief through support from our partners and the ADRA network.\r\n\r\nAnother important aspect is that ADRA Kenya works with all people - regardless of their ethnic, political, or religious association. \r\n\r\nThis directive is an outgrowth of a deeply held belief that human life is infinitely valuable and that through humanitarian acts we make known the just, merciful and loving character of God in a world filled with misery and pain or political affiliation. "description": "SEND-West Africa is a consolidation of three autonomous national non-governmental organisations: SEND-Ghana, SEND-Liberia and SEND-Sierra Leone with each country programme guided by an independent strategic plan. SEND became operational in Ghana in 1998; Liberia in 2004; and Sierra-Leone in 2007. Informed by the marked differences in the political and economic contexts of these countries, each country programme has separate management and programming strategies to respond effectively to the respective country needs and peculiarities.\r\n\r\nSEND-Ghana is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in August 1998 with the maiden name: Social Enterprise Development (SEND) Foundation of West Africa. In 2000, SEND-Ghana started the implementation of its first programme – the Eastern Corridor Livelihood Security Promotion Programme (ECLSPP) – aimed at addressing practical development needs of communities through an integrated approach to service delivery. \r\n\r\nSEND Liberia is the second oldest and largest Program. Efforts to establish it started in 1999 but this initiative was aborted due to the escalation of the civil war at the time. In 2003 the comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended the war was achieved and SEND, like most civil society organizations, in 2004, renewed engagement with Liberia by registering with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs.\r\n\r\nSEND Sierra Leone’s programme aims to alleviate poverty and promote equality between women and men in Kailahun District. Through its projects SEND-Sierra Leone applies a participatory integrated development approach, which promotes gender equality and includes advocacy for the poor.It aims to work to address basic needs, as well as the systemic causes of poverty and injustice.",

"description": "The Aqua-Soil Group achieves water and food security through the re-use of waste streams, which improves the regional green economy, sanitation, drainage, ecology and job-creation without imposing an environmental burden.\r\n\r\nThe basis of its shared mission is its belief in a green economy with equality for all and an increase in entrepreneurship. The added value of its products and concepts are found throughout the value chain where social benefits around food, water, unemployment and its environment are a starting point for the ASA. Local entrepreneurship and education must be encouraged for ensuring continuity and growth of the delivered concepts and products. It is essential for the connections to be fitting for the local conditions. The provided equipment should be applicable for the local skills and knowledge level so that people are able to work with this equipment. However, these products should not only fit within the local, regional and national legal framework but they should be developed in collaboration with our customers as an end product so that they can be used by everyone.",
