Its 15 member NNOs/NNAs currently represent over 200,000 Nurses and Midwives. \r\n\r\nThis regional structure is registered in terms of the Non-profit Organizations Act of 1997 in South Africa and coordinates all projects from its Secretariat established at 605 Church Street (DENOSA Headquarters), Pretoria 0001, South Africa. \r\n\r\nThe Secretariat is led by an Executive Director, supported by a qualified Finance Officer and an Administrative Secretary and overseen by an Executive Committee of five members, who are presidents of member NNAs/NNOs. The secretariat ensures the effective implementation and management of regional projects through coordinating meetings, contracting services effectively, and monitoring and evaluation. It also serves to strengthen the network and ensure that programmes are integrated through sharing information and consolidating the organisation. \r\nThe Secretariat is managed in agreement with labour regulations of the host country (South Africa) and collaborates with SADC Secretariat Health Sector and HIV/AIDS Unit for regional concerns and partnership in some projects. Member NNAs/NNOs are legal entities registered in their countries. We focus on the needs and requests from local Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) that have a wish to initiate or improve sport for development and peace practices. Within our organisation we emphasize and promote the right for participation for all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, religion or handicap. Among the countries in which we are active are Burkina Faso, Mali, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda, South-Sudan, Surinam and South Africa.\r\n\r\nIn order to use sports as a tool for development and peace it is imperative to develop, organise and structure projects and programmes in such a manner that the positive force of sports can be used. International Sports Alliance offers professional competences to develop and improve the works of sustainable sport for development projects and programmes. We offer academic and professional expertise on sports leadership, communication, project planning, organizational management, lobbying and education.
