The mixed demographics of the members makes it an ideal portal to Rotary membership for older members of Rotaract or indeed people who have never previously had any involvement with Rotary before.\r\n\r\nChelmsford Phoenix was established and granted its charter on 23rd July 2009. The club is a twilight club which meets on a Thursday evening 6.30 for 7.00pm. During college term times It meets at the Princes Room Restaurant at the Chelmsford College of Further Education. This is our way of putting something back into the community at a local level by allowing the young people the opportunity to get work experience in preparing, cooking and service a meal as well as running the bar. A very worthy cause. The current cost of the meal is £13.00 per week for an excellent 3 course meal. Restless Development has 15 years of experience in youth-led, high impact and cost-effective programme delivery in Eastern and North Eastern Uganda. The organization was established to address the challenges faced by young people in Uganda; our goal is for all Ugandan youth to live healthy and productive lives fully supported by those around them. We aim to contribute to this goal through achievement of three key objectives: improved youth sexual and reproductive health and rights; increased youth civic participation and improved youth livelihoods. Our National Strategic Framework (2010-2015) emphasises increased impact through partnerships and advocacy, including an increased focus on engaging marginalised groups. Restless Development is currently operating in eight Districts and 21 sub-counties across Eastern and North-Eastern Uganda. In concrete terms this means it prefers to loan than give money. In keeping with these principles, the Rabobank Foundation’s partners likewise always proactively contribute a great deal to the project. They not only contribute through financial contributions from the local community and the customers/members, but also make a vital contribution in the form of manpower, commitment and dedication. Rabobank Foundation employees are also deployed to provide on-site and hands-on assistance by tapping into the vast knowledge of the Rabobank Group in fields including food and agri, financing and co-operative formation.\r\n\r\nThe key question with regard to providing support is always: Will this support provide the prospect of financial self-sufficiency? This means that the support provided must pave the way for the involved co-operatives to ultimately continue providing services to their members without receiving external support. Mobilising the members’ own savings makes a major contribution towards achieving this aim at savings and credit co-operatives. In this way the support received from the Rabobank Foundation is leveraged as an empowering catalyst for development. \r\n\r\nAnother key role performed by the Rabobank Foundation entails guiding, advising and coaching co-operative organisations in developing countries. This provides organisations in developing countries with access to unique banking expertise and experience relating to business and private financing, internal organisation, co-operative management and administration, ICT systems and product development.
