One goal was to “reduce by half, the proportion of people without access to safe and affordable drinking water and sanitation” by the year 2015.\r\n \r\nTo help reach this goal, leading US-based non-governmental organizations working in water and sanitation formed the Millennium Water Alliance (MWA) as a 501(c)(3) organization to offer sustainable solutions through advocacy, shared knowledge, and collaborative programming. "description": "All over the world, Wilde Ganzen (Wild Geese) supports disadvantaged people, through their Dutch partners, who make an effort to achieve a better future for their community. Our support is meant for small-scale and specific projects of, for and by the people themselves in developing countries and a number of Eastern European countries, without distinguishing between race, language, religion or orientation. \r\nWilde Ganzen tries to achieve this aim by raising funds for the projects together with the Dutch partner. Besides, we have been raising funds by means of a weekly radio and television appeal through the Dutch inter-church broadcasting IKON ever since our formation in 1957.\r\nYou may submit a project proposal only if you have a Dutch partner who is willing to raise funds for your project. \r\n\r\nEvery year, Wilde Ganzen supports approximately 500 new projects all over the world. Wilde Ganzen only supports projects, through the so called ‘Dutch partners’, for which schools, foundations or private persons in the Netherlands raise funds, the so-called private initiatives. Each project requires a private initiative in the Netherlands that makes an effort to raise the necessary funds for the project. Wilde Ganzen increases the funds raised by adding a Bonus of 70% to the net result of the campaign, after which the project can be executed. Through their donation, endowment or inheritance, the donors enable Wilde Ganzen to support hundreds of campaigns year after year. ",

"description": "The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde is the Danish museum for ships, seafaring and boatbuilding culture in ancient and medieval times.\r\n\r\nThe Viking Ship Hall, the oldest part of the museum, was opened in 1969. It was designed as a large showcase to display the five Viking ships found at Skuldelev. The hall also houses special temporary exhibitions and a cinema, where a film about the excavation of the ships is shown.\r\n\r\nAn extension to the museum, Museum Island, was opened in 1997. The museum boatyard, where visitors can watch shipwrights at work, is located on the island. Café Knarr, Activity center and School Service is also found here.\r\n\r\nThe large collection of traditional Nordic wooden boats is berthed at the harbour on Museum Island. Here you will also find the five reconstructions of the Skuldelev ships. Many of the vessels were built at the museum boatyard, which also maintains them.\r\n\r\nThe Viking Ship Museum carries out investigations before construction projects are commenced under water and along Denmark's coasts, or when the forces of nature uncover items of historical interest on the sea floor. The Department forms a meeting place for students, staff, and researchers from Ancient history, Archaeology, and History. Among our staff we have experts on different periods in the history of man, such as the European Bronze Age, ancient Greece and Rome, the Nordic Middle Ages, pre-industrial peasant society as well as social and political processes in modern times.\r\nThe three subjects (Ancient History, Archaeology and History) offer their own courses from the undergraduate level up to the degree of Ph.D. at the same time as they are part of interdisciplinary education programmes. The Department also offers a programme for future history teachers.\r\nThe department of Historical Studies is host of the prioritised research area Critical Heritage Studies – an interdisciplinary, cross-faculty project with the aim of strengthening cultural heritage research at the University as well as the cooperative work with academic and non-academic heritage institutions locally and globally. \r\nFor more information about UGOT : link to UGOT partner page on NEARCH website\r\n",

"description": "The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) is the legal custodian of Ghana’s material cultural heritage (movable and immovable heritage). The Board was established in March 1957 – on the eve of Ghana’s independence - as a result of the merger of the then interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission. The GMMB is governed by the National Liberation Council Decree (NLCD) 387 of 1969, now known as Act 387 of 1969, which was further strengthened by the Executive Instrument (E.I.) 29 of 1973.\r\n\r\nThe history of GMMB can be traced to the establishment of an Ethnographic Museum at Achimota College in 1929. That museum was transferred to the Department of Archaeology at the University of the Gold Coast, when the university was created in 1948. \r\nIn 1952, there was the awareness of the need to conserve the past. The British Colonial government then put in place an ‘Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast’ to facilitate the creation of a national museum.\r\n\r\nThe Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission merged, and this led to the passing of the Museum and Monuments Board Ordinance (GOLD COAST No. 20 of 1957), which established the GMMB.",

The Nautical Archaeology Society is a non-government organisation formed to further interest in our under-water cultural heritage. NAS is a registered charity based in the United Kingdom, but with strong links to partner organisations around the world. NAS aims to preserve our archaeological heritage in the marine environment, by acting as a focus for coastal and marine archaeology. To do this NAS needs to involve everyone- divers and non-divers, scientists, historians and anyone with an interest. Our underwater heritage is not renewable, and is at constant threat from natural and human agencies.",
