(More about our history and income).\r\n\r\nOur mission is to improve opportunities for children up to age 8 who are growing up in socially and economically difficult circumstances. We see this both as a valuable end in itself and as a long-term means to promoting more cohesive, considerate and creative societies with equal opportunities and rights for all. \r\n\r\nOur grantmaking works primarily through supporting programmes implemented by local partners in selected countries. Our partners include public, private and community-based organisations. Working through partnerships is intended to build local capacity, promote innovation and flexibility, and help to ensure that the work we fund is culturally and contextually appropriate.\r\n\r\nWe also aim to leverage our impact by working with influential allies to advocate for young children. Our free publications share lessons we have learned from our own grantmaking activities and feature agenda-setting contributions from outside experts. It is one of the main drivers behind globalisation, the creation of economic opportunities and empowerment of individuals. ICT has changed the lives of millions for the better and is an important tool in fighting poverty. Yet, many lack the possibility to profit from the opportunities arising. Realisation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will be accelerated by using ICT in a smart and sustainable way. It is against this background that Dutch development organisations and specialized ICT organisations Akvo, Cordaid, Edukans, ICCO and IICD have decided to collaborate by setting-up the Connect4Change Consortium. The consortium works closely together with preferred partner Text to Change.\r\nThe Connect4Change Consortium has a vision of a world where people, in particular young people and women and girls, are able to access relevant information and create their own future. Information and communication technologies are a powerful instrument that can speed up the process of development and empowerment of individuals. It helps people to unlock themselves and make use of their own potential.\r\n\r\nOur mission is to strengthen people and civil society organisations in the sustainable use of and lobby for ICT to achieve their development goals, in particular in economic development, health and education. The rose of the compass is the comprehensive idea of porosity and fluidity; the four compass points encompass openness as well as connection, self-guidance as well as cooperation. In real terms, this means that the Van Eyck is a welcoming meeting-place where fluid connections exist between institute and surrounding world, between the various art disciplines and between the fields of art and science. The energy flows that are thus generated trigger myriad possibilities and bring the development of talent to a peak. \r\nFor more information about JVE : link to JVE partner page on NEARCH website", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1963, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 214, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 576, "latitude": 51.6, "longitude": 5.226641, "city": "Haaren", "state": "Noord-Brabant", "address_1": "Reitselaan 73", "address_2": "", "postcode": "5076 CB", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 214 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/19/c8/19c8ae15e78f3dc61f298b34fbf7b743.jpg", "latitude": "51.6", "longitude": "5.226641", "city": "Haaren", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2010-03-18T13:21:33+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-08-06T11:57:22.675693+02:00", "name": "Stichting MIM", "long_name": "Stichting Mirjam in Malawi (2)", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.stichting-mim.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31-(0)411 621782", "mobile": "", "fax": "+31-(0)411 621782", "contact_person": "Corry van Tilburg", "contact_email": "stichtingmim@home.nl", "description": "The objectives of the foundation are the support of projects in the field of education, health and agriculture. \r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 576, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 165, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 664, "latitude": 51.588467, "longitude": 5.326347, "city": "Boxtel", "state": "Brabant", "address_1": "Bosscheweg 56", "address_2": "", "postcode": "5283 WB", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 165 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/25/c2/25c266ae1c1768ba9838e4e7ad42f61e.jpg", "latitude": "51.588467", "longitude": "5.326347", "city": "Boxtel", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2009-12-22T10:12:41+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:57:03.309709+01:00", "name": "Waterschap De Dommel ", "long_name": "Waterschap De Dommel ", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "G", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 10, "iati_org_id": "NL-KVK-17277734", "url": "http://www.dommel.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31 (0) 411-618 618", "mobile": "", "fax": "+31 (0) 411-618 688", "contact_person": "Louis Bijlmakers", "contact_email": "lbijlmakers@dommel.nl ", "description": "De Dommel Water Board ensures clean, sufficient and safe water in central Brabant. Our support is meant for small-scale and specific projects of, for and by the people themselves in developing countries and a number of Eastern European countries, without distinguishing between race, language, religion or orientation. \r\nWilde Ganzen tries to achieve this aim by raising funds for the projects together with the Dutch partner. Besides, we have been raising funds by means of a weekly radio and television appeal through the Dutch inter-church broadcasting IKON ever since our formation in 1957.\r\nYou may submit a project proposal only if you have a Dutch partner who is willing to raise funds for your project. \r\n\r\nEvery year, Wilde Ganzen supports approximately 500 new projects all over the world. Wilde Ganzen only supports projects, through the so called ‘Dutch partners’, for which schools, foundations or private persons in the Netherlands raise funds, the so-called private initiatives. Each project requires a private initiative in the Netherlands that makes an effort to raise the necessary funds for the project. Wilde Ganzen increases the funds raised by adding a Bonus of 70% to the net result of the campaign, after which the project can be executed. Through their donation, endowment or inheritance, the donors enable Wilde Ganzen to support hundreds of campaigns year after year. Like a fair or a circus, de Parade has been touring the Netherlands and abroad for 21 years, descending on the nicest parks and squares in town. Depending on the prospective public, de Parade will stay in town for 10 or 17 days. De Parade is the only travelling theatre festival in the world and has been set up like a circus turned inside-out, with the audience in the centre and the artists around them. The result is an irresistible live panorama of theatre, dance, music, art, entertainment, magic, curiosities, attractions and shows. This colourful collection of theatre tents, fountain tents, the chairoplane and the global restaurants make the de Parade festival site resemble an old-fashioned fair ground.\r\n\r\nEvery year the de Parade programme is like a refreshingly theatrical maze. The public can choose from a selection of performances usually produced especially for de Parade and shown simultaneously on the festival site. The length of the shows varies from three to sixty minutes. Every performance is repeated several times each night. There is also an extensive children's parade. In this way, everybody can plan their own day full of culture, art, theatre and music. The programme is made up of dozens of programmes and attractions. The artists try to influence the public by presenting free and attractive de Parade acts on the stage in front of their tents, like the bonisseurs (showmen) who used to draw the public's attention to their shows at the annual fairs in the Middle Ages. Their act was called 'holding a parade'. During a trip to Thailand they discovered tremendous needs among blind children in that country. Not only because of their physical handicap, but also because of the stigma and rejection they face. Education was not available for blind children. That was the reason to start a foundation.\r\n\r\nThrough the years\r\nThrough the years the small family foundation has grown to a well-organized foundation that has become an important party in helping the blind and visually impaired in developing countries. The foundation found, and still finds, its inspiration in the Gospel that calls upon us to reach out to the poor and the underpriviliged.\r\n\r\nExtended\r\nThe primary mission of LIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands was to educate blind children. Later on, the field of work broadened. We discoverd that a lot of children become needlessly blind, so prevention and treatment of blindness was added. Also there came a demand to help people who were irreversibly blind. Rehabilitation and low vision services were added. In recent years the focus has switched to inclusive development. That means that the society is equipped for equal participation of persons with a disability.\r\n\r\nLIGHT FOR THE WORLD\r\nIn 2011 Dark & Light joined LIGHT FOR THE WORLD, a European confederation of national development NGOs committed to saving eyesight, improving the quality of life and advocating for the rights of person with disabilities in the underprivileged regions of our world. LIGHT FOR THE WORLD has members in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic and The Netherlands.\r\n\r\nSince 2012, Dark & Light Foundation is called LIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands. As a confederation member we still have our own identity, mission, vision, board and staff.\r\n\r\nLIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands supports about 40 projects in 11 countries in Africa and Asia. Our goal is a world in which all women and girls can exercise their right to water and sanitation, resulting in a healthier and more just society. \r\n\r\nIn a rapidly changing world grappling with major crises in the areas of climate, health and human rights, Simavi focuses on three areas where we believe we can achieve the greatest impact with our projects, lobbying and campaigns: equality, climate and power. \r\n\r\nWe want to increase the involvement and leadership of women in water and sanitation. This while at the same time in other parts of the world clean drinking water is used to do the dishes and to flush the toilet. More than a billion people do not have access to clean drinking water and as a result of this 3,5 million people worldwide die every year. Jointhepipe.org, an internationally oriented foundation, wants to do something about this! Our goal is to build the longest water pipe in the world. Long enough to bring clean and safe drinking water to all of those people who currently have no drinking water.\r\nThe construction of water projects in Third World countries is being financed through the sale of our unique, hip and sustainable Jointhepipe.org water carafes and water bottles. Bottled water that is being imported from European countries is responsible for a great deal of CO2 emissions and is, on top of that, 400 to 3000 times more expensive than tap water. And that while The Netherlands have the best drinking water in Europe, that is what tests performed by the European Commission have shown. \r\nJointhepipe.org wants to promote the most sustainable water there is: tap water. We therefore designed a series of carafes and water bottles that can be filled with tap water. This way it is no longer necessary to purchase those polluting plastic throw-away bottles in the future. The profit of every carafe or bottle sold is being donated to one of our many water projects in Third World countries. So, drink only tap water from now on. Not only is it good for the environment and your wallet, but you can help us with our dream to bring safe drinking water to all those currently without. www.jointhepipe.org\r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 330, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 4121, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 5508, "latitude": 51.503364, "longitude": -0.127625, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "Weesperstraat 3", "address_2": "1018 DN", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 39, "location_target": 4121 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/8e/a1/8ea191e4da90673eb5a4a003cd96d645.jpg", "latitude": "51.503364", "longitude": "-0.127625", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2017-03-17T12:12:39.264400+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2017-03-20T12:40:20.653740+01:00", "name": "Free Press Unlimited", "long_name": "Free Press Unlimited", "language": "en", "organisation_type": null, "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 21, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "https://www.freepressunlimited.org/en", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31 (0)20 8000 466", "mobile": "+31 (0)6 20 36 10 ", "fax": "+31 (0) 20 7173648", "contact_person": "Jens Kiesheyer", "contact_email": "kiesheyer@freepressunlimited.org", "description": "For most people around the world, gaining access to reliable information is far from easy. \r\nNevertheless, reliable information is a basic human need. \r\nPeople need it to judge their situation and to influence the course of their life. \r\nIf you don't know what's going on around you, how can you make the right decisions?\r\n\r\nFree Press Unlimited believes that objective information can be of life-and-death importance. \r\nFree Press Unlimited helps local journalists in war zones and conflict areas to provide their audience with trustworthy news and information. \r\nThe information that people need to survive and give shape to their own future.\r\n\r\nFree Press Unlimited is a foundation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. \r\nOur Executive Board is made up of Leon Willems and Ruth Kronenburg. \r\nTogether, they head a dedicated team of some 50 professionals. \r\nFree Press Unlimited's media projects in 39 countries around the world are overseen by our Programme Coordinators, \r\nwho specialise in particular fields and/or geographic areas.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": false, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5508, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 366, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 203, "latitude": 52.379005, "longitude": 4.871727, "city": "Amsterdam", "state": "Noord-Holland", "address_1": "c/o Aidenvironment", "address_2": "Donker Curtiusstraat 7-523", "postcode": "1051JL", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 366 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/3a/ef/3aef692dc3fdb4f99acbad5ba6fb21c9.jpg", "latitude": "52.379005", "longitude": "4.871727", "city": "Amsterdam", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2011-06-01T17:07:38+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:53.721187+01:00", "name": "EMF", "long_name": "The Ecological Management Foundation", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "C", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 70, "iati_org_id": "NL-KVK-41209391", "url": "http://www.emf.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31-(0)20-5818250", "mobile": "+31-(0)611332383", "fax": "+31-(0)20-6866251", "contact_person": "Frederik Claasen", "contact_email": "info@emf.nl", "description": "The Ecological Management Foundation (EMF) is a typical non-profit, network organization: the head office is based in Amsterdam and staffed by a committed group of part-time employees and volunteers; several partner organizations around the world share the same ideals and ambitions and provide support where and when needed.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, EMF is dedicated to improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities in developing countries. This varies from implementation of field measurements and model calculations, to giving training and strategic advice. Acacia distinguishes itself by the cooperation with the University, as a result of which Acacia Water has access to the latest scientific developments in the field of hydrology and environment. We translate this knowledge to innovative and practical solutions.\r\n\r\nThe strength of Acacia Water is the specialization in the field of groundwater, while at the same time being able to place issues in a broader perspective and to link up with other fields of action. As a result we often work in a multidisciplinary environment with a broad variety of expertise.\r\n\r\nThe Acacia team exists of passionate and enthusiastic groundwater experts. In the past five years our expertise has been made available to a large range of clients, including the World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, the EU and national governments. In the Netherlands our main clients are waterboards, water supply companies and local- and regional governments. By continuing our involvement in international projects, particularly in the field of rural water supply, Acacia water continues to give content to its social responsibility.\r\n\r\nWe look forward to discuss in what way Acacia Water can play a role in providing solutions in the field of ground - and water management to your organization.", "notes": "Duplicate Org ID 1934 removed.", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1053, "content_owner": 1170, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] } ] }
