"description": "Practical Action (PA) aims to demonstrate and advocate the sustainable use of technology to reduce poverty in developing countries.Practical Action was founded in 1966, as ITDG (the Intermediate Technology Development Group), by the radical economist Dr EF Schumacher to prove that his philosophy of ‘Small is Beautiful’ could bring real and sustainable improvements to people’s lives. With their commitment to poverty reduction, environmental conservation and technology choice they think Practical Action is uniquely placed to contribute to a world free of poverty. Practical Action has a unique approach to development – they don't start with technology, but with people. The tools may be simple or sophisticated – but to provide long-term, appropriate and practical answers, they must be firmly in the hands of local people: people who shape technology and control it for themselves.",

"description": "Poverty and inequality cause tensions; it is the lack of prospects that creates conflicts. Earning a living wage allows people to regain control of their lives, to care for their families and to shape their futures. As a result, people will start working together and their communities will flourish.\r\n\r\nPeople living in fragile areas require capital to start their own business. If there are any financial institutions at all, they often are new to the business or inexperienced and lack the knowledge to reach many of their customers. Such institutions require support to grow but cannot find the investors that are prepared to take risks.\r\n\r\nIt requires expertise of conflict transformation, financial expertise as well as an insight into local circumstances to invest responsibly in financial institutions in fragile areas. The more fragile an area, the more an international development organization has to be prepared to bear risks, including financial risks.\r\n\r\nCordaid invests in a lasting peace. It does so by supporting microfinance institutions, entrepreneurs and companies, with expertise, advice and financial resources.\r\n\r\nCordaid offers clear investment policies and consideration for risk management as well as its own investment capital, but above all, Cordaid has compassion.",

We are also a registered non-governmental organization in Nicaragua where our two person staff carries out a program of offering assistance in design, technical problems and marketing for artisans working in clay, primarily small groups of women living in rural areas.\r\n\r\nPotters for Peace also works worldwide with local partners to set up production facilities for low-cost, low-tech, highly effective ceramic water filters. The filter is based on a ten liter ceramic bucket design originally developed in Guatemala by Fernando Mazariegos. \r\n\r\nPotters for Peace has developed a semi-mechanized technology transfer package which enables production of ceramic filters to be underway almost anywhere in the world after a one month training and set-up session. \r\nPFP does not itself make or sell ceramic filters nor do we have any financial interest in the facilities we set up.",

See attached Certification of Accreditation. \r\n\r\nPlan began operations in Liberia in 1982, focusing on community-based programming in water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental services, as well as education health and livelihoods. Over the years, Plan has partnership with the Government of Liberia, civil society organizations, children, families and communities to ensure better growth and development of Liberian children. Plan Liberia has learned that a blend of national level and community-based programming is necessary for the fulfillment of the rights of all children in Liberia. Between 1982 and 1993, Plan Liberia’s work reached over 200,000 Liberian children, their parents, caregivers and communities. In 1993, Plan suspended its operations in Liberia due to escalating security risks, but resumed operations in the country in 2006. Plan has its Country Office in Monrovia, as well as a Programme Unit (PU) in Lofa County in northern Liberia, and another PU in Bomi County in western Liberia. Plan also has sub-offices in Nimba County and Grand Gedeh County. These offices focus mainly on providing education and child protection in emergencies, particularly for Ivorian refugees and their host communities.\r\n",

Plan International was founded in 1937.\r\n\r\nPlan Finland is the largest child sponsorship organisation in Finland. Plan has no religious or political affiliations. Tens of thousands of Finns support our work and share our mission to remove poverty and fulfill children's rights across the globe. Our vision is a world where human rights are respected and children realise their full potential as members of society. In addition to development projects and child sponsorship in developing countries, we also work on a national level in Finland, focus on corporate partnerships, advocacy work and communication. We not only listen to children but ask them to actively participate in our work and make decisions for themselves.\r\n\r\nPlan receives funding from individual donors, corporate partners, The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the EU and the UN. Through Plan, your help is delivered quickly and reliably. Plan International works in 69 countries and runs development programs in 50 countries. There are fundraising national offices in 22 countries, Finland being one of them. \r\n\r\nThe immediate goal of Plan’s work is to fulfil children’s rights throughout the world.
