This is the fundamental belief of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, which exists primarily to invest in corporate social investment projects that help to create sustainable communities so that this dream of a common future can be realized.\r\n\r\nThe Coca-Cola Africa Foundation was established in 2001 as an African community foundation in response to the growth and impact of the HIV pandemic. In 2002, The Foundation and Africa-based Coca-Cola bottlers established the most extensive employee healthcare program for HIV/AIDS and related conditions in Africa.\r\n\r\nOnce The Coca-Cola System successfully funded the workplace HIV/AIDS programs, The Foundation redirected its HIV efforts to solely fund prevention and awareness services for communities.\r\n\r\nAs part of its mission is to strengthen and empower African communities, The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation also formed partnerships with local grassroots and international non-governmental organizations to deliver HIV/AIDS education and prevention.\r\n\r\nThe Foundation’s community activities focus on one of four key areas central to life in Africa: water, health, education and entrepreneurship. By providing assistance in the most critical areas of need, we strive to improve the quality of life for communities in Africa and expand the opportunities for those who live there.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation is involved in humanitarian assistance in Africa, for disaster relief and emergency assistance.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1049, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 44, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 432, "latitude": 52.29577, "longitude": 4.903752, "city": "Ouderkerk a/d Amstel", "state": "Noord-Holland", "address_1": "De Oude Molen 1a", "address_2": "", "postcode": "1184 VW", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 44 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/65/f1/65f18336f8e2b944c2ce02fffc39e1e1.jpg", "latitude": "52.29577", "longitude": "4.903752", "city": "Ouderkerk a/d Amstel", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2008-08-10T16:46:47+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-03-24T11:54:00.803827+01:00", "name": "NOTS Foundation", "long_name": "NOTS Entrepreneurial Development Aid", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.nots.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31(0) 20 3059108", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Brenda Bas", "contact_email": "brenda.bas@nots.nl", "description": "The goal of the NOTS Foundation is to increase the number of people in developing countries who are able to lead a self-supporting life. Combining the power of young entrepreneurs, technology, and innovative community solutions, DOT programs stimulate economic growth and create a framework for community development to secure the future success of youth, with a particular focus on young women.\r\n\r\nDOT operations in Ethiopia were established in 2006. DOT's work toward alleviating poverty and eradicating inequality instills a spirit of development and progress among its young population. DOT provides the training and the skills to allow young Ethiopians to harness their potential and find opportunities to improve their livelihoods.\r\n\r\nDOT Ethiopia Programs\r\nIn Ethiopia, DOT currently implements ReachUp! and StartUp! programs. Carefully selected interns deliver these programs in chosen communities to thousands of keen participants, who are intent on bettering their lives with newly-acquired life skills and technology competencies.\r\n\r\nDOT Ethiopia program reaches out to vulnerable youth and young women looking to find employment and/or private sector opportunities. Up to date, DOT Ethiopia has directly engaged over 9,000 national youth and women with very minimal resources to apply relevant Information Communication Technologies (ICT) to gain business and life skills to improve their access to market and employment opportunities. Since its inception, DOT Ethiopia has established vital partnerships with international organizations, local government offices, education institutions, local community-based organizations (CBO), associations, and microfinance institutions to better serve vulnerable and resource-poor youth. It is through these partnerships that DOT selects its beneficiaries, adding valued services to the services already provided by its partner organizations to their targeted beneficiaries.\r\n\r\nOver the last few years, DOT has learned that its unique methodology is well-suited for local youth as it successfully tailors to their local needs. Youth are an important target group for economic growth as they have an ability to learn quickly and can influence poverty reduction for future generations.
