The goal of Careermate is to usher more people into vocations or career fields generally considered as less prestigious but were employment or livelihood opportunities abound. E.g. Agriculture or Arts, Entertainment.\r\n\r\nOur target is young people in two transitional stages of our education system i.e. senior secondary school and vocational training, where progression to higher level education is severely limited.\r\n\r\nCareermate has three strategic programme components;\r\n\r\n1. Career guidance - this is concerned with developing career guidance materials and sharing them with youths. The unique feature of this component is the way it uses ICT to enhance the appeal of career information and making it more interactive and interesting to young people. Here we use videos, high quality graphics as well as interactive content to fully engage the youths. The content is characterized by inspirational interviews and documentation of tasks performed in a particular job.\r\n\r\n2. Sharing and Networking - the key feature of this component is activities to link youths to experts, knowledge and other leveraging initiatives. In this component we offer young people access to our digital library as well as conduct face-face career talks in training centers. During this time we share the career content we generate as well those our partners send us. Starting next year 2012, Careermate will embark on a programme to assist schools especially those with problems accessing Internet, to create more digital educational libraries of DVDs.\r\n\r\nAnother interesting feature of this component is the learning exchange. Here we are trying to facilitate learning exchange programmes with other youths within and outside the country.\r\n\r\n3. Talent Development ; this component is concerned with assisting youths with talents to further develop their talents by offering them basic tools, facilities to practice. For instance, we offer our members access to music instruments to learn how to use them, or coaching and validation/contests on public speaking.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 103, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 4033, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 5459, "latitude": -1.8507535, "longitude": 36.7885662, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "KE", "country": 27, "location_target": 4033 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/11/f0/11f05e05d90434e12e41d59a896b2193.jpg", "latitude": "-1.8507535", "longitude": "36.7885662", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2017-02-06T16:18:15.832138+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2017-02-07T10:25:12.481362+01:00", "name": "MTTI", "long_name": "Masai Technical Training Institute", "language": "en", "organisation_type": null, "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 80, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.masaitech.ac.ke/index.php", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": " Mr Wesley Yegon", "contact_email": "masaitti@yahoo.com", "description": "the Masai Technical Training College is a tertiary institution based in Kajiado County, Kenya. It is believed that people grow better when they are encouraged to do whatever they can for themselves. It is hoped that good health may become a reality for all the people only through organizational activities at the voluntary level. Persons and associations classed as voluntary have great opportunity to help people at the weakest & most depressed. Benchmarking the KFC Certification Scheme to other codes such as GlobalGap, Fair Flowers Fair Plants (FFP), Tescos Nurture, KS- 1758 in addition to 23 different Kenya Government statutes, provides an opportunity to conduct “Combi” audits as a measure of effective and efficient service to members.\r\n\r\nIt also embraces the principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention, International Code of Conduct (ICC), Ethical Trade Initiatives (ETI) and the Horticulture Ethical Business Initiatives. \r\n\r\nAs of August 2015, KFC had a producer membership of 94 flower farms situated throughout the country. Elaben Bhatt, with the aim of organising women in the informal sector. SEWA represents the convergence of three movements: the labour movement, the women’s movement and the cooperative movement. Based on the philosophy of Gandhiji, SEWA’s goal is to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. \r\n\r\nSEWA defines ‘full employment’ as employment that provides work security, income security, food security and social security. ‘Self-reliance’ refers to economic self–sufficiency and equitable roles in the decision-making process. These goals are achieved through a strategy of “struggle and development”. The struggle is against the many constraints imposed on women by society and the economy, and the development activities are aimed to strengthen women's collective bargaining power and provide them with sustainable new alternatives.\r\n\r\nGenesis of SEWA Bharat: \r\n\r\nSEWA’s experience in Gujarat provided encouragement to women in other states as well, with sister organizations being set up in a total of nine states till date. Together, these sister organizations constitute SEWA Bharat, the All-India Federation of Self Employed Women’s Associations. SEWA’s mandate is to highlight the issues of women working in the informal sector, and to strengthen the capacity of the different organizations that serve them. SEWA Bharat is a membership-based organization.\r\n\r\nLocal community health workers are the cornerstone of SEWA’s health program. Known as sathis, SEWA health workers serve the entire community, and work to organize SEWA members in their villages and neighbourhoods. They are educators, service providers and advocates. \r\n\r\n Objective: \r\nThe objectives of SEWA’s health programme are as follows:\r\n1. To build the community's capacity to demand their sexual and reproductive rights within a broader framework of the rights to health and social security \r\n2. To work with partners to bridge the gap in government services and increase the availability subsidized or free sexual, reproductive and other health services and advocating for availability, accessibility and quality of public services.\r\nSome of the schemes that SEWA actively works on are:\r\n• Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY Maternity benefit for institutional delivery)\r\n• Minority schemes\r\n• National Rural Employment Guarantee Act \r\n• RSBY- insurance for BPL families\r\n• Indira Avas Yojana\r\n• Ladli: Education of the girl child\r\n• Old age and widow pension\r\n• Worker schemes: ex.
