The partnership consists of more than a million women - one of the Major Groups that are identified by the United Nations to shape a sustainable society. The women of WfWP come from different social cultural and professional backgrounds. They contribute to poverty reduction with their know-how and experience. \r\n\r\nIWRM:\r\nThe focus of the organisation is sustainable development through integrated water resource management. WfWP’s key concerns are empowerment, local ownership, equity mainstreaming, partnership, and grassroots development. \r\n\r\nDay-to-day practice:\r\nWfWP fills the gap between the local day-to-day practice in water management and the international agreed principles for sustainable development. The partnership links macro and micro level interventions and creates conditions that enable women and their organisations to become partners in the development of their own environment.\r\n\r\nDynamic networking:\r\nWfWP has its own working methodology: Dynamic Networking. It is tailor-made for sustainable solutions at grass roots level. Through the Dynamic Networking approach all stakeholders arrive at a shared needs perception and jointly develop the most appropriate solution. In the resulting project all parties involved work together on an equal footing contributing their specific expertise. \r\n\r\nConcrete project: \r\nEvery year WfWP members organise working conferences in different regions in the world. At those conferences initiatives of member organisations are developed into concrete projects. Relevant stakeholders are invited to participate in the joint development and subsequent implementation of these projects. The knowledge and experience about a.o. partnerships, appropriate technologies, micro finance, and up-scaling of successful initiatives are exchanged and put to practice. Moses himself the Director for instance was born 2 months after the death of his father and by then his mother was just a young girl of 17years who later on abandoned him under the care of Moses’ grandmother at the age of 3years to explore herself a new rewarding life. Moses’ life experiences was the point for him to think too deep about helping the destitute children and today he has changed many street children into useful people in the Nyendo Community by involving them into community activities of sanitation. This helps when the community can look at these children as useful people than being subject to violence both from the police, town people and from older kids. \r\n\r\nChildren have been the main rubbish carriers with less responsibility, dumping rubbish anywhere at their convenience, for; they are made to carry big loads of garbage which rarely reach to the right destination. However, some community members have began learning by the situation and participate in voluntary cleaning of their areas. The main causes being; Poor housing and planning, Lack of enough skips located in different areas closer to the people, Reckless dumping of rubbish, Lack of a well designed dumping site for the public, lack of knowledge on the importance of keeping good sanitation behavior in our environment, Parents left the whole garbage dumping tasks in the hands of children which leaves the work poorly done , often children are found dropping these garbage on the way as it seems to be much heavy for them to Cary, people do not have dust bins at their working places.\r\nSAVO signed partnership agreement with Masaka Municipal Council to promote health and sanitation in Nyendo Ssenyange Division the activities assigned cover road sweeping, trench cleaning. This has acted as source of funding and at same time promoted sanitation. SAVO has given employment to 3 youth on the program and bought equipment to support service delivery, these were; 3 wheelbarrows 3 garden rakes, 4 pair of gloves, 3 scribing brushes, 6 brooms and 2 spades and have mobilized the community to keep proper sanitation.\r\n\r\nThe organization has been committed to the improvement of the quality of each child’s life within the context of family, community and culture.\r\nOpportunities for the child to grow physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, vocationally and in terms of economic and environmental security has been and will continue to be the essence of what SAVO programs seek to offer and promote them in ways that empower those assisted children and parents or a positive role model to direct their self-development in socially beneficial ways.\r\n\r\nVision \r\nSAVO envisage resilient children who live to their full potential, whose rights and aspirations are fulfilled.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMission \r\nSAVO’s mission is to bolster children’s ability to deal with stress or an unhealthy environment through working in and with communities focusing on areas of prevention, care, support and mitigation; and capacity building so as to strike the balance between stressful life events and favorable protective factors.\r\n\r\nGoal\r\nSAVO’s goal is to mitigate the adverse health, economic and psychosocial effects of high-risk environment of children and their families.\r\n\r\nCore values \r\nChildren our focus, love, integrity, respect for diversity, excellence, continuous learning, accountability, gender, empowerment and child participation.\r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1026, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2476, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 2661, "latitude": 11.108524, "longitude": 77.341066, "city": "Tirupur", "state": "Tamil Nadu", "address_1": "5, Iswarya Nagar,Dharapuram Road", "address_2": "Near Government Hospital, K.N.P. We do this together with partners in 10 African and Asian countries. Our goal is a world in which all women and girls can exercise their right to water and sanitation, resulting in a healthier and more just society. \r\n\r\nIn a rapidly changing world grappling with major crises in the areas of climate, health and human rights, Simavi focuses on three areas where we believe we can achieve the greatest impact with our projects, lobbying and campaigns: equality, climate and power. \r\n\r\nWe want to increase the involvement and leadership of women in water and sanitation. We believe that women's and girls' access to climate-resilient water and sanitation is at the heart of climate justice. We are also convinced that women's voices and expertise are crucial for change when it comes to water and sanitation. \r\n\r\nOur work is part of the Sustainable Development Goals and Simavi focuses specifically on three interconnected SDGs: water and sanitation (SDG6); gender equality (SDG5) and climate (SDG13). This was as a result of deliberations that took place at a satellite meeting preceding the International Aids Conference in Durban in 2000. National Nurses Associations had in their own countries been working on improving the conditions for nurses, however in the absence of mechanisms to share best practices; they had been left to re invent the wheel.\r\nNurses and midwives of the region realized that they have to join hands in the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic that was and is still hitting the SADC region hard. Thus this network was formed. SANNAM has made tremendous strides towards strengthening NNAs/NNOs (National Nursing Associations/Organisations) through capacity building, networking and sharing of best practices. Its 15 member NNOs/NNAs currently represent over 200,000 Nurses and Midwives. \r\n\r\nThis regional structure is registered in terms of the Non-profit Organizations Act of 1997 in South Africa and coordinates all projects from its Secretariat established at 605 Church Street (DENOSA Headquarters), Pretoria 0001, South Africa. \r\n\r\nThe Secretariat is led by an Executive Director, supported by a qualified Finance Officer and an Administrative Secretary and overseen by an Executive Committee of five members, who are presidents of member NNAs/NNOs. The secretariat ensures the effective implementation and management of regional projects through coordinating meetings, contracting services effectively, and monitoring and evaluation. It also serves to strengthen the network and ensure that programmes are integrated through sharing information and consolidating the organisation. \r\nThe Secretariat is managed in agreement with labour regulations of the host country (South Africa) and collaborates with SADC Secretariat Health Sector and HIV/AIDS Unit for regional concerns and partnership in some projects. Formerly the Bangladesh field programme of the Geneva-based Lutheran World Service, RDRS became an autonomous national NGO in 1997. RDRS however maintains strong international connections. With LWF (as an Associate Programme); with ACT International; with its core partner agencies mainly in Europe, North America and Japan; and with regional networks such as AZEECON, SAGA and others.\r\n\r\nRDRS came into being at the time of Bangladesh’s War of Independence, in 1971. Set up by the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) to help refugees fleeing conflict across the border, it returned with them after liberation to carry out much-needed rehabilitation in the devastated and long-neglected northwest – greater Rangpur - Dinajpur Districts. In 1976, a sectoral development programme was launched to assist the poorest in agriculture, community development, health and women’s economic activities. Construction of roads, bridges, markets and schools continued.\r\nDuring these years, RDRS was the leading non-governmental agency in the northwest. It is also credited with introducing many major innovations: the treadle pump (its most famous invention, allowing crops to be grown in winter); wheat production and other crop diversification; vegetable gardens; and, women’s advancement, not least the picture of women on bicycles.\r\nBy the late 1980s, an integrated Comprehensive programme superseded its sectoral work, focused on conscientisation and group organization of the poor, emphasizing social, educational and economic elements. Physical infrastructure development continued under the Rural Works Project. \r\nSince then, RDRS successes have included the ‘greening the north’ through its roadside and homestead tree plantation programme; improving life on the chars (river islands on the Brahmaputra); raising awareness of women’s rights; promoting savings, credit and skills training to improve the livelihoods of the poor and, the emergence of Union Federations - self-managed people’s organisations of the rural poor. \r\nThe RDRS programme continues to evolve and innovate. Current realities mean the programme now comprises a range of various projects and financing, large and small, which all contribute to following vision and mission.\r\n\r\nVision \r\n\r\nThe achievement by the rural poor of meaningful political, social, and economic empowerment, peace and justice and a sustainable environment through their individual and collective effort.\r\n\r\nMission \r\n\r\nRDRS works with the rural poor & their organization \r\n• Build their capacity and confidence\r\n• Claim and establish their rights\r\n• Promote good governance\r\n• Improve access to resources and services \r\n\r\n", "notes": "Removed duplicate organisation 1854", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 498, "content_owner": 693, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] } ] }{ "count": 6074, "next": "
