We became aware of many projects, particularly outside of the Western Europe, where conservation and heritage skills were needed but people could not access or afford them. We also knew of recent graduates and heritage professionals who were keen to help but had no means of getting involved.\r\nHWB volunteers gain valuable experience in working in challenging situations, building capacity and also networking with fellow heritage professionals from different parts of the world. HWB constantly broadens its activities through working with museums, historic buildings and collections and archaeological sites internationally. Removing the barrier of ‘cost’, HWB aims to help alleviate poverty through the improvement of heritage provision.\r\nHeritage Without Borders already completed several successful projects in different regions of the world and held training in London for heritage specialists from Middle East. \r\nOur work is primarily funded through grants and donations. HWB is a registered charity in the UK. We believe that effective training and two-way interactions between heritage professionals and local communities can result in practical solutions to keep our past alive. Its mission is to build the capacity of the Loita Maasai to manage their own resources - human, land and livestock - for their own development. In empowering the Loita Maasai, the short term objective is to alleviate poverty and improve the socio-economic status of the community by promoting development initiatives that are relevant to Loita culture and which support their interaction in society. \r\n\"Unreachable\" aptly describes the Loita Maasai pastoralists. They are a subset of the Maasai community whose population of about 30,000 occupies an area of south western Kenya. The region is remote without effective infrastructure. This, combined with Loita's reputation asthe most conservative of the Maasai, has contributed to this their status as one of the nearly 'unreachable' people of the world. \r\nOver the years, ILIDP has seen some evolution in its approaches and intervention. Overall, mobilising the community around formal education is identified as a major long term strategy for addressing the continued marginalization of the Loita community and a means of addressing their under-representation in various sectors of both government and civil society.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 307, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1609, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 1408, "latitude": 0.0, "longitude": 0.0, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "PH", "country": 32, "location_target": 1609 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/ad/00/ad00dc0159b52de7dbf03aca05426bfd.jpg", "latitude": "0.0", "longitude": "0.0", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-07-19T00:00:00+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2016-03-08T09:28:32.577432+01:00", "name": "IMAN", "long_name": "IMAN", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 23, "iati_org_id": "", "url": "http://iman-inc.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "IMAN (Integrated Mindanaons Association for the Natives) was organized in 1985. \nThey are actively involved in organizing communities, facilitating disaster response program in the areas affected by conflict, mobilize different organizations and pledges from concerned Moro families for assistance to evacuees. "ndustrial Promotion Services (IPS) is the infrastructure and industrial development arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, which in turn is a member of the Aga Khan Development Network.\n\nEstablished in the early 1960s, IPS was created to provide venture capital, technical assistance and management support to encourage and expand private enterprise in the developing world, particularly countries of sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.\n\nIPSs emphasis is on the role of the private sector. Through equity investment with partners from both the public and private sectors, IPS identifies projects with strong developmental potential as well as financial viability and works towards building them into companies with lasting institutional strengths with potential for contributing to the long-term development of the national and international communities in which they operate. Its criteria for project design emphasise both technology transfer and local resource use; it seeks to harness both international expertise and local know-how to the task of improving living standards in the developing world.\n\nOver the years, IPS has adjusted its approach to address the development goals of the region through Privatisation, re-orientation from import-substitution towards export promotion, and more recently investment in infrastructure. Currently, IPS within East Africa has over 25 companies across multiple sectors including: industrial printing and packaging, leather tanneries, food and agro-industry, specialized textiles, pharmaceuticals, power and telecommunications and a range of medium sized enterprises.\n\nIPS shareholders in East Africa, currently include institutions such as International Finance Corporation (IFC), Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG), East Africa Development Bank and Jubilee Holdings Ltd.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": false, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5512, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1533, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 1287, "latitude": 0.0, "longitude": 0.0, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "IN", "country": 2, "location_target": 1533 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/6c/77/6c77873f3588beb07ecef933219ad7d4.jpg", "latitude": "0.0", "longitude": "0.0", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-07-19T00:00:00+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2016-03-08T09:27:04.147969+01:00", "name": "Integrated Rural Developm", "long_name": "Integrated Rural Development Service Organis IRDSO", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": "", "url": "http://irdso.org.in/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "The Integrated Rural Development Service Organisation-IRDSO is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit making and non-governmental voluntary organization working for the cause of women.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1287, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 340, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 62, "latitude": 6.792412, "longitude": 79.891097, "city": "Ratmalana ", "state": "Colombo", "address_1": "40, 4th Lane", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "LK", "country": 59, "location_target": 340 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/d5/09/d5095dbb232a296382158b7bc9fe3889.jpg", "latitude": "6.792412", "longitude": "79.891097", "city": "Ratmalana ", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2011-02-20T13:03:24+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:51.184294+01:00", "name": "Arthacharya Foundation", "long_name": "Arthacharya Foundation", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://is.gd/yhf3zC", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+94 11 4 863730", "mobile": "", "fax": "+94 11 2 623074", "contact_person": "Rabobank Foundation Buitenland", "contact_email": "rabobankfoundationbuitenland@rn.rabobank.nl", "description": "Arthacharya Foundation (AF) is a national NGO and operates 10 districts in the country.
