This approach ensures that funds are channelled into new and promising areas of research with a greater degree of flexibility.\r\n \r\nERC grants are awarded through open competition to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins, who are working or moving to work in Europe - the sole criterion for selection is scientific excellence. The aim here is to recognise the best ideas, and retain and confer status and visibility to the best brains in Europe, while also attracting talent from abroad.\r\n \r\nHowever the ERC aims to do more than simply fund research. \r\nIn the long term, it looks to substantially strengthen and shape the European research system. This is done through high quality peer review, the establishment of international benchmarks of success, and the provision of up-to-date information on who is succeeding and why.\r\n \r\nThe hope is that these processes will help universities and other research institutions gauge their performance and encourage them to develop better strategies to establish themselves as more effective global players.\r\n \r\nBy challenging Europe's brightest minds, the ERC expects that its grants will help to bring about new and unpredictable scientific and technological discoveries - the kind that can form the basis of new industries, markets, and broader social innovations of the future.\r\n \r\nUltimately, the ERC aims to make the European research base more prepared to respond to the needs of a knowledge-based society and provide Europe with the capabilities in frontier research necessary to meet global challenges.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1485, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 3838, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 5335, "latitude": 9.432919, "longitude": -0.848452, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "GH", "country": 11, "location_target": 3838 } ], "logo": null, "latitude": "9.432919", "longitude": "-0.848452", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2016-10-21T13:03:47.131581+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2016-10-21T13:03:47.588845+02:00", "name": "eSyllabus For Africa", "long_name": "eSyllabus For Africa", "language": "en", "organisation_type": null, "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 21, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://esyllabusforafrica.com/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5335, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 4718, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 5975, "latitude": null, "longitude": null, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "ET", "country": null, "location_target": 4718 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/b8/aa/b8aa6fd0e60a56747d6c1a88c7f984de.jpg", "latitude": null, "longitude": null, "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2018-02-09T12:17:15.944314+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2018-02-09T12:17:15.971899+01:00", "name": "Ethiopia Ministry of Agriculture", "long_name": "Ethiopia Ministry of Agriculture", "language": "en", "organisation_type": null, "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 10, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://ethioagp.org/ministry-of-agriculture-moa/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5975, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1177, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 1060, "latitude": 9.011007, "longitude": 38.780351, "city": "Addis Ababa", "state": "Addis Ababa", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "ET", "country": 12, "location_target": 1177 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/5d/66/5d667a6d06176b36ae7a953ab6ae2103.jpg", "latitude": "9.011007", "longitude": "38.780351", "city": "Addis Ababa", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-05-09T12:51:44+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:53.202524+01:00", "name": "DOT", "long_name": "Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT)", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "C", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 70, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://ethiopia.dotrust.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+251-922-147-227", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Biruk Yosef", "contact_email": "ethiopia@dotrust.org", "description": "Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) was globally established in 2002 with a mission: to connect youth with technology; to build human capacity; to instill an entrepreneurial way of thinking, and to provide the tools for community-led economic and social development. Combining the power of young entrepreneurs, technology, and innovative community solutions, DOT programs stimulate economic growth and create a framework for community development to secure the future success of youth, with a particular focus on young women.\r\n\r\nDOT operations in Ethiopia were established in 2006. DOT's work toward alleviating poverty and eradicating inequality instills a spirit of development and progress among its young population. DOT provides the training and the skills to allow young Ethiopians to harness their potential and find opportunities to improve their livelihoods.\r\n\r\nDOT Ethiopia Programs\r\nIn Ethiopia, DOT currently implements ReachUp! and StartUp! programs. Carefully selected interns deliver these programs in chosen communities to thousands of keen participants, who are intent on bettering their lives with newly-acquired life skills and technology competencies.\r\n\r\nDOT Ethiopia program reaches out to vulnerable youth and young women looking to find employment and/or private sector opportunities. Up to date, DOT Ethiopia has directly engaged over 9,000 national youth and women with very minimal resources to apply relevant Information Communication Technologies (ICT) to gain business and life skills to improve their access to market and employment opportunities. Since its inception, DOT Ethiopia has established vital partnerships with international organizations, local government offices, education institutions, local community-based organizations (CBO), associations, and microfinance institutions to better serve vulnerable and resource-poor youth. It is through these partnerships that DOT selects its beneficiaries, adding valued services to the services already provided by its partner organizations to their targeted beneficiaries.\r\n\r\nOver the last few years, DOT has learned that its unique methodology is well-suited for local youth as it successfully tailors to their local needs. Youth are an important target group for economic growth as they have an ability to learn quickly and can influence poverty reduction for future generations. Founded in 1988, as an independent not-for-profit organization, EWMI’s work began the year before the wall came down, with the challenge of crafting functioning democratic systems in transitioning post-soviet societies. We learned – in our initial work across central and eastern Europe, and in the decades that followed around the world - that a collaborative approach involving civil society, government and the private sector is the key to ensuring that citizens exercise their rights, and institutions are accountable for protecting them. This leads to more just and prosperous societies.\r\n\r\nEWMI addresses complex challenges with practical, cross-cutting solutions. EWMI specializes in targeted, locally relevant initiatives that foster partnerships, and cross-sector collaboration, from assisting the state and local advocates in policy creation and reform to engaging in court administration, local economic development and technical support to civil society. EWMI does not offer off-the-shelf or cookie cutter solutions to these issues, because it appreciates from experience that each local context is unique.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, Een Fardá waarin de zon weer opkomt en licht geeft, een Fardá zoals dat hoort te zijn. De Stichting wil dat doen door ondersteuning van duidelijk omschreven projecten en door samenwerking met andere stichtingen in Nederland. Tevens organiseren wij activiteiten ter bevordering van de samenwerking tussen de Afghaanse organistaties in Nederland en proberen gezamenlijke acties te ondernemen voor projecten in Afghanistan.
