In the same context, the ability to appropriately and sustainably respond to livelihood challenges and demands by marginalized communities are a key determinant of health, and thus fighting inherent under development and incapacitation is a key strategy to promote a sustained holistic health community; LSIO thus envisions an empowered and healthy rural/marginalized community capable of thriving and achieving a holistic healthy life.",

"description": "The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) is a global research institute with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and regional offices in Nairobi, Kenya, and New Delhi, India. Our research evidence identifies women’s contributions as well as the obstacles that prevent them from being economically strong and able to fully participate in society. ICRW translates these insights into a path of action that honors women’s human rights, ensures gender equality and creates the conditions in which all women can thrive.\n\nICRW comprises social scientists, economists, public health specialists and demographers, all of whom are experts in gender relations. We are thought leaders driven by a passion to alleviate poverty and rectify injustice in the world. And we believe that women and girls – in collaboration with men and boys – are essential to the solutions. We know that when their quality of life improves, families are healthier and economies are stronger.",

"description": "Mbarara University of Science and Technology also known as MUST lies on the banks of the scenic meandering Rwizi River a tributary of Lake Victoria in Mbarara Municipality along the Kabale highway, 286 kilometers, southwest of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. As one of the main Rivers in the region, the Rwizi is a source of water for thousands of local people and their livestock. Snaking through the famous hills of southwestern Uganda, the Rwizi was always a beautiful river that brought pride to the people in the area due to its sky blue waters and the purposes they served. Today the Rwizi’s waters are brown because of sedimentation.\nMUST is a thriving residential campus and community where Students live in ‘villages’. On campus are two halls of residence popularly referred to as the Gents and Ladies flats. The rest of the student population live around the University campus in private but accredited hostel facilities by the Dean of Students office in collaboration with the Mbarara District Police station.\n\nLearning and living are intimately intertwined at MUST. Extra Curricular activities, professional student associations and clubs, performances, forums and sports and games beckon students as well as the communities around the University. The Student Government known as the Guild Government is a melting pot of young and ambitious leaders who seek for democratic mandate and offer leadership on behalf of the student population. The Students’ Guild mission is to improve the quality of student’s life at the university, both academically and socially by addressing student needs and concerns, providing financial structure for student clubs and organisations and representing the student body in a professional manner.\n\nThere are also a number of well-known and established student activities, such as KinaMUST, cultural gala, bazaar, freshmen and fresh women ball that add to the unique tradition and experience of being a student at MUST.\n\nMUST is a public university also accredited by the National Council for Higher Education in Uganda. Over the years it has won acclaimed national and international recognition for best practices in outreach and community relations from Association of Commonwealth Universities, European Union, Civil Society of Uganda, produces the best development workers and health care professionals.",

"description": "RNW Media: a media organisation for social change. In parts of the world where change is hard to achieve because freedom of speech is restricted, we use media to make lives better.\r\nWe work with people aged 15 to 30. If you want to change society, young people are the ones who make a difference. But to shape a better future, they need information. So we help them get access to independent journalism and media.\r\n\r\nOur three core themes are democracy and good governance, sexual health and rights and international justice. This reflects the ideals of our home country the Netherlands, with its democratic tradition, open-minded attitude to sexuality and global standing as the home of the International Criminal Court.\r\n\r\nCreating communities\r\nWe have a talented team of young journalists and specialists from all over the world, who are passionate about the value of their work. And unique to RNW Media is our close relationship with partner organisations and citizens in our target regions. We talk, we team up, we work together on an equal footing. We draw on local expertise to co-create and exchange content. Our vast network isn’t just about media production, it’s about people. We build and connect communities.\r\n\r\nRNW Media is devoted to using media in innovative ways, leaving behind old models of broadcasting and news production. We help young media producers to connect with their audiences, in specific communities, using persuasive storytelling. Our training centre RNTC believes in creativity and fresh approaches to content. And we’re excited by the way social media and the world online brings people together.\r\n\r\nMedia with the courage for change\r\nRNW Media works with countries where freedom of expression is severely restricted. The list today includes China and 17 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Arab world. We give access to information that isn’t available in the local media because of laws or taboos.\r\n",
