"description": "Stichting Letitia Vriesde Sportpromotie Suriname (St. LVSS) is een initiatief van ex top atleet Letitia Vriesde.

In carrying out this mission, IFDC pioneers and catalyses improved plant nutrient performance by developing and disseminating new technologies and practices and also strengthens input and output markets for the benefit of smallholder farmers. Prominent market development methodologies also include creation and strengthening of value chains using the Competitive Agricultural Systems and Enterprises (CASE) methodology, implementation of voucher systems to deliver “smart subsidies” that promote increased use of production inputs distributed through commercial agro-input suppliers and several complex and robust systems of providing market information systems for use by farmers, input suppliers, buyers and business service providers (e.g., AfricaFertilizer.org) \r\n\r\nIFDC has a full-time multidisciplinary headquarters staff of over 90 international professionals (e.g., agronomists, economists, business development specialists, credit specialists, MIS specialists, program management specialists, marketing specialists, financial analysts, soil scientists, chemists, chemical engineers) and a total program staff worldwide of more than 700 to address development issues in a technically sound and holistic fashion. In West Africa, over 250 staff members work in 9 countries in close collaboration with national and regional partners to implement projects funded by USAID and other donors.",

"description": "Ashaiman Municipality (ASHMA) has signed an MOU with SSGL to support the project with all its capacity. In the project they are responsible for provision of land for the Factory, make sure that SSGL has access to waste in the municipality and support these waste management processes, stakeholder management and play a role in hygiene sensitisation. In the project we have regular contact with the Municipal Chief Executive, the Coordination Director and the Waste Manager.\r\n\r\nThe Municipality has developed its own Municipal Environmental Sanitation Strategy and Action Plan (MESSAP) sharing the need for innovative and sustainable solutions for provision of water and sanitation with the inclusion of waste management. Based on our work so far, they have shown formal interest and they are willing to develop and implement the concept, for which they currently lack the means and capacities to fulfil their roles independently. The contract between ASHMA and SSGL has a reference to the responsibility of operations by SSGL, based on a Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) period of 18 years.",

"description": "The Kumasi Metropolis is located in the middle of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It is the second largest city in the country and the administrative capital of Ashanti. It is a fast growing Metropolis with an estimated population of more than 2.7 million people and an annual growth rate of about 2.7%. The Kumasi metropolitan Assembly is a government of Ghana Agency whose mission is in tandem with the prime functions of District Assemblies as stated in the Local Government Act of 1993 (Act 462, section 10) thus the District Assembly ‘shall be responsible for the overall development of the district and shall formulate and execute plans, programmes and strategies for the effective mobilization of the resources necessary for the overall development of the district’.\r\n\r\nThe detailed function of this Assembly is set out in the LI 1614 of 1995. The execution of these functions such as provision of socio-economic services requires efficient and effective mobilization and utilization of material, human and financial resources to improve the lives of the residents of the metropolis. Various departments under the Assembly are given specific responsibilities and the Waste Management Department of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is responsible for Environmental Sanitation within the metropolis. The services provided constitute an essential factor in contributing to good health, high productivity and the welfare of the people. ",

Kerk in Actie supports projects in all parts of the world and on diverse themes. The Church in Action projects are divided into the following focus areas:\r\n-Poverty in Netherlands\r\n-Refugees and Human trafficking\r\n-Caring Church\r\n-Sustainable Living\r\n-Disaster Relief\r\n-Child Rights \r\nKerk in Actie connect worldwide communities, organizations and people who want to share what is given them. We do this by sharing stories of people and ensuring that people can meet. This can be on a Rural Diaconal day, a conference for deacons in Indonesia or through exchange visits. It supports worldwide communities and people working on signs of hope by strengthening capacity of local churches and partner organizations, such as training or exchange. Parishes and ZWO committees can come for advice, inspiration and materials to use in their own municipality. ",

In 1950, the School was upgraded to an Agricultural College offering diploma programmes. The Egerton Agricultural College Ordinance was enacted in 1955. In 1979, the Government of Kenya and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded a major expansion of the institution. In 1986, Egerton Agricultural College was gazetted as a constituent college of the University of Nairobi. "description": "Born officially in 1947, but with roots that traces back to the revolutionary days, the Philippine Red Cross has truly become the premier humanitarian organization in the country, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations.\r\n\r\nThe story of the Philippine Red Cross is the story of men and women from all walks of life who have dedicated themselves to the service of humanity. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need – whoever, whenever and wherever they may be.\r\n\r\nIn all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership.\r\n\r\nAt present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life.\r\n",

"description": "iDE Burkina Faso is a non-profit social enterprise aimed at increasing the incomes and livelihoods of smallholder farmers in rural Burkina. This mission is executed through the design and market development of agricultural technologies suited to our Burkinabé clients. iDE International is currently present in 13 countries worldwide; its mission to Burkina Faso was established in March 2011 with the support of the SDC.\r\n\r\niDE’s mission is not to invent radically new technology; rather, it is to adapt existing technologies to be produced at lower cost, which allows them to reach a greater number of people and increase the income of our future clients. iDE works through the market by selecting and designing low-cost technologies and setting up rural supply chains to ensure the delivery and reliability of those technologies.\r\n\r\nWe currently serve over 3000 clients, who are supported not only by these technologies but by FBAs, or Farm Business Advisors, who are tasked with helping farmers use their new technologies efficiently and effectively. FBAs also help facilitate connections to microfinance and improved farm inputs like seeds and fertilizers.\r\n\r\nThe mission of iDE Burkina began with low-cost drip irrigation products, but we are currently developing other technologies, such as the solar pump, rainwater collection systems and electricity-free refrigeration.",
