Water access is about more than just installing water systems. It’s about installing the right systems, which might mean water wells, rainwater harvesting, protected springs, or something else entirely. And it’s about helping whole communities and regions have enough safe, accessible, reliable water to significantly improve the lives of the people who live there.\r\n\r\nSanitation\r\nIn places where there is no safe, clean place to go to the toilet, people struggle with disease, lack of privacy, and indignity. Once communities have access to safe, sustainable water, they can improve their sanitation, dramatically raising their quality of life—improving health, increasing school achievement, and multiplying productivity. In many areas, Living Water helps community members develop plans for sanitation that result in clean, functional latrines in homes, schools, clinics, and churches.\r\n\r\nHygiene Promotion\r\nSafe water and sanitation systems are important, but to have an impact, people need to use them effectively to improve their health. Education is important—helping people understand how to prevent diseases by washing their hands, storing their water properly, and using a latrine. But head knowledge is just the beginning; helping communities identify important behaviors and make their own plan to use them is the end goal.\r\n\r\nChristian Witness\r\nOur concern is for whole people—physical and spiritual. As followers of Jesus, we know that he has the power to transform people, restore relationships, and heal factors that lead to poverty, hunger, and thirst. We work with local churches wherever we find them, identify ways we can be part of what God is already doing, and share the good news about Jesus in simple ways—like telling stories and asking questions.\r\n\r\nSustainability\r\nFor all of these things to be effective for the long term, we have to involve the community from the very beginning. We’re learning alongside the communities we serve that projects are most sustainable when they respond to both need and demand, when financing is carefully thought through, and when management is handled locally with lots of ongoing support.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 949, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1050, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 950, "latitude": 12.400801, "longitude": -1.476175, "city": "Ouagadougou", "state": "", "address_1": "441, Rue Naba Kiiba Boulsa", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "BF", "country": 24, "location_target": 1050 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/0f/aa/0faa7529febaf9ce32cea99efb3bbaef.jpg", "latitude": "12.400801", "longitude": "-1.476175", "city": "Ouagadougou", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-01-31T21:54:43+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:57:03.054654+01:00", "name": "WSA", "long_name": "Water and Sanitation for Africa", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.wsafrica.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+226 50 36 62 10 /11", "mobile": "", "fax": "+226 50 36 62 08", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "wsa@wsafrica.org", "description": "As a Pan African Inter-governmental Agency, Water and Sanitation for Africa complements regional efforts by providing continental leadership in the development of innovative and sustainable approaches, evidence-based policy advice, and advocacy services in the provision of water, sanitation and hygiene services in Africa. It is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament Cap 376 with the mandate to conserve and manage wildlife in Kenya, and to enforce related laws and regulations.\r\n\r\nThe challenges facing wildlife and biodiversity conservation in Kenya are many and varied. They include climate change, habitat degradation and loss, forest depletion, tourism market volatility, human wildlife conflict brought on by population growth and changing land use habits of communities that co-exist with wildlife as well as wildlife crime.\r\n\r\nTo tackle these issues, we employ a multi-pronged approach and strategies and engage different interest groups, stakeholders and partners.\r\n\r\nKWS undertakes conservation and management of wildlife resources outside protected areas in collaboration with stakeholders. It is our goal to work with others to conserve, protect and sustainably manage wildlife resources. The community wildlife program of KWS in collaboration with others encourages biodiversity conservation by communities living on land essential to wildlife, such as wildlife corridors and dispersal lands outside parks and reserves. Mostly discouragingly, children became vulnerable, lost their childhood right of protection and care and were forced to either join the fighting forces or roam the streets in search of protection and security. Consequently, their future became bleak and hopeless. It is against this background that the vision to establish an organization to cater to the holistic needs of the children was seen. Hence, on August 16, 2003, this vision was born and a Board of Directors comprising of seven persons was formed to provide support and guidance in the implementation of the organization’s vision.\r\n\r\nSince 2003 to date ECREP has been providing humanitarian services in most parts of Liberia involving rehabilitation, reconstruction and development services benefiting more than 100,000 men, women and children in nine of the fifteen political sub-divisions of Liberia; namely, Montserrado, Grand Gedeh, Grand Bassa, Grand cape Mount, Margi, Rivercess, Maryland, Sinoe and Nimba Counties.\r\n\r\nVision: ECREP envisages a peaceful, safe and healthy environment where high qualities of life for the children are exhibited.\r\n\r\nMission: To help alleviate and respond to the causes of an unsafe and unhealthy environment for the children, thereby creating an avenue where their basic needs are met.\r\n\r\nCore Value: Love, Accountability, justice, Indiscrimination and Environmental protection\r\n\r\nMotto: ‘’ Rescuing the children’’\r\n\r\nBoard of Directors\r\nThe program has a Board of Directors comprising of seven (7) persons.
