The schools had ceased to exist as independent schools in 2002. The foundation safeguards the heritage of these schools, and continues to promote it's methodology and concepts for vocational training of women. The Dutch VAM foundation supports and promotes emancipation, gender equity and economic independence for women in particular. (see Mission & Goals). The expertise and methods used are widely recognized as one of the most successful in terms of women acquiring job qualifications and entering the labor market.\r\n\r\nIt specializes in made-to-measure vocational training for (especially) women - also in developing countries- in the fields of inter alia computer maintenance and services, entrepreneurship, management of water committees and maintenance of water pumps, plumbing, carpentry, building, etc. \r\nCurrently VAM is assisting in projects or monitoring projects in e.g. Suriname (South America), Turkey, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Mali and Moldova.\r\n\r\nThe Foundation is a not-for-profit, registered NGO, based in the Netherlands.",

"description": "Mlambe Foundation was established in 2005 as a Dutch charity to assist in heritage preservation in Malawi. For historical and economic reasons heritage awareness and preservation have suffered a great deal in Malawi.\r\n\r\nMlambe Foundation aims to contribute to the conservation of cultural heritage in Malawi and to promote cultural and economic sustainable development in the country inspired by Malawi's rich traditions and past. The Foundation seeks to achieve these aims by:\r\n\r\n- Education and research with regard to tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Malawi\r\n- Supporting and initiating projects concerning aspects of Malawian cultural heritage, not excluding any ethnic group or historical period.\r\n- Supporting activities that lead to greater publicity and awareness of Malawian cultural heritage, and thus its preservation.\r\n- Lobbying for conservation measures with the Malawi government.\r\n- Promoting rural poverty reduction by sustainable, community-based cultural resource management\r\n",

It runs development projects in the fields of water and sanitation, education and employment and schooling to the prevention of malaria and STDs like HIV/Aids. "description": "Empower Together Kenya Foundation was started in March 2012 to help Community Based Organizations in Kenya to realize their goals.\r\n\r\nThe starting of ETKF was informed by the rapid increase in the gap between the rich and the poor, especially the ones in the local villages. By partnering with the local community based organizations, lack of water, health facilities and lack of school fees for the orphaned & needy children will be addressed. Our main goal is to develop and support sustainable income generating projects for the local CBO that will enable them have a stable livelihood. This will in turn bridge the gap between the rich and the poor as the local community shall have access to clean drinking water, health facilities and orphaned & needy children shall have access to education.\r\n\r\n\r\nVision\r\nAn Independent and empowered local Kenyan communities with sustainable livelihood.\r\n\r\nMission\r\nTo develop and support sustainable income generating projects for the local Kenyan communities.\r\n\r\nObjectives\r\n1. Provide access to clean water and health facilities.\r\n2. Provide access to education to the orphaned & needy children.\r\n3. Sensitize the local community on hygiene especially highlighting the need to have pit latrines done along these four letters; Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS).\r\n4. Link the local community with national and international like-minded partners.\r\n5. To look for international market for the items (hand-made & farm produce) made by the local community.",

Its purpose is to develop initiatives aimed at reversing the process of desertification and the restoration of collapsing ecosystems. Naga builds on decades of field experience of its founders and has the ambition to inspire the whole world to take matters to hand and to start re-greening and restoring ecosystems as a basis for sustainable economic life.\r\n\r\nThe name of Naga was chosen because of its ancient meaning. "description": "Although dance is very international and every culture has its own traditional dances, for most children around the world dancing remains just a dream. Parents rather want their children to earn money at young age, than letting them enjoy their childhood. Giving them a chance to dance is a wonderful experience to escape from the hard reality of life. \r\nWe want to give children around the world a fabulous time they will never forget! Chance to Dance aims at dance performance projects in different countries where children are in disadvantaged situations. We emphasize that it is necessary to work for at least one month with a group of children. Starting with playful basic dance classes, we will work towards the final goal: a spectacular show for public at the end of the project. The size of the group can range from 20-80 children. The show will be as professional as possible, depending on the local situation. \r\nWe design and provide costumes for all the children, if possible in cooperation with local tailors We will arrange a stage, lights, a sound system and a great ambiance for the audience, also using local resources. The final show is a very important part of the project giving the children the unforgettable experience of achieving a goal. They will have to remember and combine all the movements, counts, orders, musicality and above this all the confidence to perform in front of an audience. The children will become stars for a moment! \r\nTo make this happen, the community plays an important role. We involve as many people as possible. Teachers, parents and local craftsmen can help us with costumes, lights, sound, building of stage, catering and much more. This way a Chance to Dance project will not only give the children but the whole community an experience never to forget!",

The partnership consists of more than a million women - one of the Major Groups that are identified by the United Nations to shape a sustainable society. The women of WfWP come from different social cultural and professional backgrounds. They contribute to poverty reduction with their know-how and experience. \r\n\r\nIWRM:\r\nThe focus of the organisation is sustainable development through integrated water resource management. WfWP’s key concerns are empowerment, local ownership, equity mainstreaming, partnership, and grassroots development. \r\n\r\nDay-to-day practice:\r\nWfWP fills the gap between the local day-to-day practice in water management and the international agreed principles for sustainable development. The partnership links macro and micro level interventions and creates conditions that enable women and their organisations to become partners in the development of their own environment.\r\n\r\nDynamic networking:\r\nWfWP has its own working methodology: Dynamic Networking. It is tailor-made for sustainable solutions at grass roots level. Through the Dynamic Networking approach all stakeholders arrive at a shared needs perception and jointly develop the most appropriate solution. In the resulting project all parties involved work together on an equal footing contributing their specific expertise. \r\n\r\nConcrete project: \r\nEvery year WfWP members organise working conferences in different regions in the world. At those conferences initiatives of member organisations are developed into concrete projects. Relevant stakeholders are invited to participate in the joint development and subsequent implementation of these projects. The knowledge and experience about a.o. partnerships, appropriate technologies, micro finance, and up-scaling of successful initiatives are exchanged and put to practice. \r\n\r\n",

"description": "Leiden University Fund (LUF) was founded in 1890 and since that date has been committed to maintaining and improving the high quality of education offered at Leiden University. In this context, we provide subsidies to projects conducted by faculties and researchers, and we finance endowed chairs. But students, too, can apply to LUF for support with activities which add value to their studies, for example for a study visit or a research project at home or abroad. Students can also become student members of LUF.\r\n\r\nThe prime task of LUF is to gather financial support and to make funds available for Leiden University. In addition, LUF is active in keeping former students involved with the university and with one another.",
