The Historic Shipwrecks Act applies to Australian waters that extend from the low tide mark to the end of the continental shelf and is administered in collaboration between the Commonwealth and the States, Northern Territory and Norfolk Island. Some Australian shipwreck sites lie within protected or no-entry zones.\r\n\r\nThe Historic Shipwrecks Act is delivered through the Historic Shipwrecks Program. Its objectives are to research, explore, document and protect Australia's historic shipwreck heritage. Each State or Territory program offers different opportunities for public participation as do maritime archaeological volunteer associations that exist in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.",

Sri A.L. Narasimha Murthy, the pioneer conceived the idea of establishing a service society after being inspired by the Gandhian concept of “Grama Swaraj”. The multi sectoral activities, which the organization aims at include economic development, social upliftment, improving health, sanitary conditions and literacy status besides protecting the environment with all its Bio-diversity. \r\n\r\nTo begin with, the VJNNS undertook activities relating to Khadi and Village Industries. Later on the organization extended its activity towards ensuring water supply besides land development. The organization is privileged to enrich itself with its partnership with 22 International and 20 local agencies, which include the Govt. of India for grounding various development and welfare activities, which are in tune with the basic objectives of the organization. "description": "The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) is a multi-donor partnership administered by the World Bank to support poor people in obtaining affordable, safe and sustainable access to water and sanitation services.\r\n \r\nWe work directly with client governments at the local and national level in 25 countries through regional offices in Africa, East and South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and in, Washington D.C. \r\n \r\nWSP has led or supported many of the advances made within the water and sanitation sector over the last three decades. We are able to share best practices across regions and place a strong focus on capacity-building by forming partnerships with academia, civil society organizations, donors, governments, media, private sector, and others. Our work helps to effect the regulatory and structural changes needed for broad water and sanitation sector reform.\r\n \r\nOur challenge is to replicate successful approaches, continue targeted learning efforts, and support reforms that ensure the adoption of sustainable investments in the sector that help people rise from poverty.",

"description": "The International Center (IC) is a Washington, DC based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 1977 to focus on issues between the United States and the developing world. The International Center currently has programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The International Center has five programs: the U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council Education Forum, the New Forests Project, Veterans International/Cambodia, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and IC Sports Corps.\r\n\r\nThe U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council Education Forum (USVTC-EF) has played a major leadership role in building the relationship between the U.S. and Vietnam. USVTC-EF seeks the full normalization of U.S.-Vietnam relations; helps create essential policy frameworks for building a new economic partnership between the two nations; and provides assistance for the establishment of links that increase bilateral trade and investment. USVTC-EF has played a key role in the negotiation and implementation of the U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) and Vietnam's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and continues to work closely with Vietnam on next steps in Vietnam's economic integration and development.\r\n\r\nThe New Forests Project (NFP) supports reforestation and agroforestry projects in the developing world that protect and restore natural forests, reverse land degradation and promote land-use practices that increase productivity and sustainability. NFP consists of two protects: the World Seed Program and the Clean Water initiative. The World Seed Program supplies free seeds and other supplies to in-country partners who redistribute the seeds locally. NFP also provides agroforestry trainings, small grants for the purchase of equipment for reforestation efforts among other things. Since 1982, NFP has helped plant over 8 million trees around the globe. The Clean Water Initiative supports local water associations, committees and organizations in their efforts to provide clean, reliable water and sanitation services to rural communities in Central America and the Caribbean.\r\n\r\nVeterans International Cambodia (VIC) assists in the rehabilitation of Cambodians living with disabilities and helps them to lead active, fulfilling lives. VIC' s goal is to support victims of war and poverty who are often living on the margins of society. VIC supports three rehabilitation centers across Cambodia where people with disabilities receive rehabilitation services, prosthetics, orthotics, and other equipment. Patients also have the opportunity to meet with self- help groups and community organizations. These groups allow people with disabilities and their family members to socialize, share their experiences, and build self-confidence. Groups are given microloans to manage and start small, self-sustaining co-op projects such as fish farms or rice banks. Members are encouraged to have a voice and become involved in their community' s development.\r\n\r\nFounded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) is a humanitarian organization that addresses the consequences of war through programs of advocacy and service in Vietnam. VVAF receives grants from the Department of State and other organizations to conduct landmine clearance projects in Vietnam with the Technology Centre for Bomb and Mine Disposal Engineering Command (BOMICEN). VVAF and its project partners carryout surveys to collect information about the prevalence and burden of the most common mental disorders and the effects this has on the individuals and their families. VVAF is also engaged in upgrading and constructing schools in various provinces around Vietnam.\r\n\r\nThe International Center' s Sports Corps Division aims to improve understanding between the people of developing countries and the United States through the medium of youth sports. Our sport exchange programs create a dynamic environment for youth of various SE Asian countries to better understand each other and demonstrate how sports can overcome economic, religious, and geographic differences. These exchange programs, mainly focusing on young women and their coaches, seek to empower, teach, and inspire these women to improve themselves and their communities through sport.",

Global Pulse will add value to existing monitoring efforts by providing quick-time and real-time actionable information on how vulnerable populations are affected by global compound shocks. It will focus on cross-sectoral vulnerability analysis and early impact detection and will promote collaboration across disciplines, regions, and organizations. The system will improve the flow of information already available, build on networks that already exist, and integrate technologies already in use around the world.",

"description": "UNDP is the United Nations' global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 177 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners.\r\n\r\nWorld leaders have pledged to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, including the overarching goal of cutting poverty in half by 2015. UNDP's network links and coordinates global and national efforts to reach these Goals. Our focus is helping countries build and share solutions to the challenges of:\r\n\r\nDemocratic Governance\r\nPoverty Reduction\r\nCrisis Prevention & Recovery\r\nEnvironment & Energy\r\nHIV/AIDS\r\n\r\nUNDP helps developing countries attract and use aid effectively. In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights, capacity development and the empowerment of women.\r\n\r\nThe annual Human Development Report, commissioned by UNDP, focuses the global debate on key development issues, providing new measurement tools, innovative analysis and often controversial policy proposals. The global Report's analytical framework and inclusive approach carry over into regional, national and local Human Development Reports, also supported by UNDP.\r\n\r\nIn each country office, the UNDP Resident Representative normally also serves as the Resident Coordinator of development activities for the United Nations system as a whole. Through such coordination, UNDP seeks to ensure the most effective use of UN and international aid resources.",

"description": "Water Access\r\nLiving Water has been working in the area of water provision for 22 years, and it continues to be a cornerstone of our work in every country we operate in. Water access is about more than just installing water systems. It’s about installing the right systems, which might mean water wells, rainwater harvesting, protected springs, or something else entirely. And it’s about helping whole communities and regions have enough safe, accessible, reliable water to significantly improve the lives of the people who live there.\r\n\r\nSanitation\r\nIn places where there is no safe, clean place to go to the toilet, people struggle with disease, lack of privacy, and indignity. Once communities have access to safe, sustainable water, they can improve their sanitation, dramatically raising their quality of life—improving health, increasing school achievement, and multiplying productivity. In many areas, Living Water helps community members develop plans for sanitation that result in clean, functional latrines in homes, schools, clinics, and churches.\r\n\r\nHygiene Promotion\r\nSafe water and sanitation systems are important, but to have an impact, people need to use them effectively to improve their health. Education is important—helping people understand how to prevent diseases by washing their hands, storing their water properly, and using a latrine. But head knowledge is just the beginning; helping communities identify important behaviors and make their own plan to use them is the end goal.\r\n\r\nChristian Witness\r\nOur concern is for whole people—physical and spiritual. As followers of Jesus, we know that he has the power to transform people, restore relationships, and heal factors that lead to poverty, hunger, and thirst. We work with local churches wherever we find them, identify ways we can be part of what God is already doing, and share the good news about Jesus in simple ways—like telling stories and asking questions.\r\n\r\nSustainability\r\nFor all of these things to be effective for the long term, we have to involve the community from the very beginning. We’re learning alongside the communities we serve that projects are most sustainable when they respond to both need and demand, when financing is carefully thought through, and when management is handled locally with lots of ongoing support.",
