In 2008 werd Myanmar getroffen door de cycloon Nargis. Akkers waren overstroomd met zout water en huizen weggeslagen. De bevolking van Myanmar had dringend noodhulp nodig. Op 6 maart 2009 ontving CDN het Memorandum of Understanding, waarmee de organisatie in samenwerking met de overheid van Myanmar, noodhulp kon leveren aan de bevolking. CDN heeft voedselpakketten en landbouwgereedschappen gedistribueerd onder de mensen in de Ayeyarwady Divisie. Zo krijgen mensen weer de mogelijkheden in handen om in hun eigen levensonderhoud te voorzien. Daarnaast zijn met zout water vervuilde waterbassins schoongemaakt. Om ervoor te zorgen dat de mensen van deze streek beter bestand zijn tegen de effecten van cyclonen, heeft CDN twee cycloonbestendige opvangcentra gebouwd en noodreparaties verricht aan sluizen en
