"description": "Mombasa Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited is a limited liability company that was established in March 2011. The company took over the operations of water and sewerage services provision in Mombasa County as from 1st September, 2005. This was after finalizing negotiations on the water Service Agreement with the Coast Water Services Board and appointing the first Board of Directors.

We ensure access to universal, high quality, comprehensive healthcare including primary care and care for infectious diseases such as malaria.\r\n2. We integrate healthcare with education, microfinance, and community mobilization to address the root causes of poverty and disease.\r\n3. We partner with the poor in destitute communities. We listen to their needs, assets, and priorities. We bring together local wisdom and international expertise.\r\n4. We strengthen and compliment the public sector, avoid building parallel systems, and advocate for evidence-based policy change.\r\n5. We are serious about measuring impact, and we practice evidence-based development.\r\n",

"description": "NALAS is a network of associations of local authorities of South East Europe. The Network brings together 15 Associations which represent roughly 9000 local authorities, directly elected by more than 80 million citizens of this region. The NALAS Secretariat, based in Skopje, is responsible for the overall coordination and the implementation of the activities.\r\n\r\nNALAS was created in 2001 following the first Forum of Cities and Regions of South-East Europe (Skopje, November 2000), organised by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. The Network was established under the auspices of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe (Working Table 1) and the Council of Europe. During the first years, NALAS functioned as an informal organisation with regular meetings, seminars and training programmes. In July 2005 NALAS became an officially registered association with its seat in Strasbourg. The NALAS Secretariat was established in March 2007.\r\n\r\nNALAS promotes the process of decentralisation in cooperation with central governments and international organisations, considering local self-government as a key issue in the current process of transition affecting the various countries in South-East Europe. NALAS builds partnerships in order to contribute to the reconciliation and stabilisation process in the region and henceforth contributes to the process of the European integration of the whole region.\r\n\r\nNALAS initiates and carries out regional initiatives for its members and helps the associations to become viable representatives of local authorities vis-а-vis central government. NALAS aims to provide services to local governments for the benefit of the citizens in the region and wishes to develop itself as the knowledge centre for local government development in South-East Europe, recognised among all relevant stakeholders.",

"description": "Four engineering graduates who were very sensitive to the causes of disparity, exploitation and poverty established Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra in 1971. Motivated by the vision and ideas of the great Sarvodaya leader Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, these graduates made the decision to abandon their careers and comfortable lifestyles in order to explore ways to establish a just society, in which no one remains hungry, unemployed, exploited, or discriminated against. NBJK has grown significantly over the years. From its humble beginnings in a small dalit hamlet in the village of Bahera in Hazaribag in the state of Jharkhand, the organization now has a presence in 10 districts of Jharkhand and Bihar. NBJK also works in close partnership with a networked of voluntary organizations and small groups in an additional 40 districts in the two states.\r\n\r\nThe organization aims at facilitating a just and egalitarian society through an integrated development approach, with special emphasis on the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society. The 6 core program areas are as follows: education; eye care and health; micro credit and socio-economic development; solid waste management and sanitation; small group support, advocacy, and governance; and disaster relief. \r\n\r\nNBJK is registered as a society under the Society Registration Act XXI, 1860 at Patna, Bihar. Registration No. 61/1974-75 dt. 26-09-74. The organization is also registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976. Registration No. 337750015.",
