Also facilities will be able to accurately supervise and account for all the revenue collected.\r\nICT will change the way people store, retrieve, present and share information. This will improve the pace at which organizations performs their activities while reducing costs by taking advantage of knowledge and tools made available by this digital age. Streamlining organizational activities while improving responsiveness to client’s need, which is a key distinguishing factor that will add competitive edge to modern organisation. It also allows to make use of telemedicine and eLearning to further enhance the capacity and quality of care.\r\nThe main reason which triggered for this project was lack of accurate and timely data in the health sector. This is a national problem. During the Round Table workshop in 2005, health information systems were identified as an appropriate way to improve the quality of health data and to reinforce the management of the health system. This problem is more severe for health facilities owned by civil society. Without proper data, proper analysis would be impossible and hence automatically affect the quality of decisions to be made. Also without proper data keeping, access to the secretarial basket funding is limited and the interventions of the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) remains relatively small. Furthermore, a data driven health sector is more responsive to the end users, more accurate in its interventions, more accountable and fosters a learning environment that would promote the analysis of data closer to the points of data generation. This reduces the reliance on centralized knowledge generation and intervention planning. At national level the need for appropriate health information is recognized and included in the Health Systems Strengthening Program III. This is further elaborated in an e-Health strategy. \r\nICT has been identified as a critical tool in development today and has vast potentials in improving the delivery of health services. The Afya Connect (4) Change Lake Zone envisages the establishment of an adequate network to facilitate quick and quality Health Management Information System covering the main health units and programs in the region. The project has previously supported the building of Health Management Information Systems at various facilities that are owned and managed by the three biggest Faith Based Organizations and the Government operating in Mwanza; namely Afyac4c is designed to assist the facilities and parent organizations to manage their operations better. In addition, this project has built the capacity of the CMOs office to receive, store, analyze and re-transmit vital health data both to the higher administrative levels of the government as well as downward to the data generators. These various information systems were then woven together with a simple, yet robust communication platform (AfyaPro) with which data can be shared instantaneously.", "notes": "", Its current programs focus on three thematic areas: Governance & Human Rights, Sustainable Livelihoods & Health, and Humanitarian Support Services. We also have a business arm through the Private Sector Engagement in Development, where we work with various transnational companies for community relations services, training on human rights framework and various other needs. LITE-Africa advances these thematic areas through:\nProgrammes: LITE-Africa develops and implements high impact, community centered programmes. Each of its programmes builds off past programmes to strengthen, expand, deepen and implement lessons learned. This approach allows beneficiaries to gain maximum returns from its programmes. Its existing programmes add value to its donors because of its wide reach and measurable outcomes; this also allows it to inform the work of policy makers, government officials and oil companies (with respect to corporate social responsibility). In addition to this, it will continue to develop and implement new and innovative programmes in the various areas.\nResearch and Development: The high impact programmes which LITE-Africa implements at the community level are use as a tool to inform policy nationally and internationally. Its expertise has allowed it to produce assessments of existing development policies and practices; these assessments have been key in stimulating national dialogue and strengthening government transparency and accountability. Moreover, its expertise allows it to produce policy briefs, opinion editorials and media content using the Niger Delta as a case study in developing effective community level programmes within and beyond the Niger Delta. Our research is widely circulated for national and international consumption.\nNetworking and Collaboration: LITE-Africa maintains partnerships with CSO's and CBO's working on similar issues at the national, regional and international levels.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 2859, "content_owner": 2238, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2546, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 2861, "latitude": 4.833401, "longitude": 7.031376, "city": "Port Harcourt", "state": "", "address_1": "Anpez Head Office: 1ST Floor 27 St. Andrew’s Street, Rumuobiakani, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NG", "country": 20, "location_target": 2546 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/28/78/28780418c8f229bf45f4f01a08dc05b1.jpg", "latitude": "4.833401", "longitude": "7.031376", "city": "Port Harcourt", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2014-12-15T21:23:17+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2014-12-15T21:23:17+01:00", "name": "ANPEZ", "long_name": "Anpez Centre for Environment and Development", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": "q1ctdhr5rau", "url": "http://www.anpez.org", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "8036258873", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Robert Bertram", "contact_email": "robert.bertram@anpez.com", "description": "In 1992 a group of professionals concerned about the safety and healthy conditions of the Nigerian environment and the sustainable development of Nigeria came together to establish Anpez Centre for Environment and Development then referred to as Anpez Environmental Law Centre.
