In 2000, SEND-Ghana started the implementation of its first programme – the Eastern Corridor Livelihood Security Promotion Programme (ECLSPP) – aimed at addressing practical development needs of communities through an integrated approach to service delivery. \r\n\r\nSEND Liberia is the second oldest and largest Program. Efforts to establish it started in 1999 but this initiative was aborted due to the escalation of the civil war at the time. In 2003 the comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended the war was achieved and SEND, like most civil society organizations, in 2004, renewed engagement with Liberia by registering with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs.\r\n\r\nSEND Sierra Leone’s programme aims to alleviate poverty and promote equality between women and men in Kailahun District.
