We do this together with partners in 10 African and Asian countries. Our goal is a world in which all women and girls can exercise their right to water and sanitation, resulting in a healthier and more just society. \r\n\r\nIn a rapidly changing world grappling with major crises in the areas of climate, health and human rights, Simavi focuses on three areas where we believe we can achieve the greatest impact with our projects, lobbying and campaigns: equality, climate and power. \r\n\r\nWe want to increase the involvement and leadership of women in water and sanitation. We believe that women's and girls' access to climate-resilient water and sanitation is at the heart of climate justice. We are also convinced that women's voices and expertise are crucial for change when it comes to water and sanitation. \r\n\r\nOur work is part of the Sustainable Development Goals and Simavi focuses specifically on three interconnected SDGs: water and sanitation (SDG6); gender equality (SDG5) and climate (SDG13). During a trip to Thailand they discovered tremendous needs among blind children in that country. Not only because of their physical handicap, but also because of the stigma and rejection they face. Education was not available for blind children. That was the reason to start a foundation.\r\n\r\nThrough the years\r\nThrough the years the small family foundation has grown to a well-organized foundation that has become an important party in helping the blind and visually impaired in developing countries. The foundation found, and still finds, its inspiration in the Gospel that calls upon us to reach out to the poor and the underpriviliged.\r\n\r\nExtended\r\nThe primary mission of LIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands was to educate blind children. Later on, the field of work broadened. We discoverd that a lot of children become needlessly blind, so prevention and treatment of blindness was added. Also there came a demand to help people who were irreversibly blind. Rehabilitation and low vision services were added. In recent years the focus has switched to inclusive development. That means that the society is equipped for equal participation of persons with a disability.\r\n\r\nLIGHT FOR THE WORLD\r\nIn 2011 Dark & Light joined LIGHT FOR THE WORLD, a European confederation of national development NGOs committed to saving eyesight, improving the quality of life and advocating for the rights of person with disabilities in the underprivileged regions of our world. LIGHT FOR THE WORLD has members in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic and The Netherlands.\r\n\r\nSince 2012, Dark & Light Foundation is called LIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands. As a confederation member we still have our own identity, mission, vision, board and staff.\r\n\r\nLIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands supports about 40 projects in 11 countries in Africa and Asia. Like a fair or a circus, de Parade has been touring the Netherlands and abroad for 21 years, descending on the nicest parks and squares in town. Depending on the prospective public, de Parade will stay in town for 10 or 17 days. De Parade is the only travelling theatre festival in the world and has been set up like a circus turned inside-out, with the audience in the centre and the artists around them. The result is an irresistible live panorama of theatre, dance, music, art, entertainment, magic, curiosities, attractions and shows. This colourful collection of theatre tents, fountain tents, the chairoplane and the global restaurants make the de Parade festival site resemble an old-fashioned fair ground.\r\n\r\nEvery year the de Parade programme is like a refreshingly theatrical maze. The public can choose from a selection of performances usually produced especially for de Parade and shown simultaneously on the festival site. The length of the shows varies from three to sixty minutes. Every performance is repeated several times each night. There is also an extensive children's parade. In this way, everybody can plan their own day full of culture, art, theatre and music. The programme is made up of dozens of programmes and attractions. The artists try to influence the public by presenting free and attractive de Parade acts on the stage in front of their tents, like the bonisseurs (showmen) who used to draw the public's attention to their shows at the annual fairs in the Middle Ages. Our support is meant for small-scale and specific projects of, for and by the people themselves in developing countries and a number of Eastern European countries, without distinguishing between race, language, religion or orientation. \r\nWilde Ganzen tries to achieve this aim by raising funds for the projects together with the Dutch partner. Besides, we have been raising funds by means of a weekly radio and television appeal through the Dutch inter-church broadcasting IKON ever since our formation in 1957.\r\nYou may submit a project proposal only if you have a Dutch partner who is willing to raise funds for your project. \r\n\r\nEvery year, Wilde Ganzen supports approximately 500 new projects all over the world. Wilde Ganzen only supports projects, through the so called ‘Dutch partners’, for which schools, foundations or private persons in the Netherlands raise funds, the so-called private initiatives. Each project requires a private initiative in the Netherlands that makes an effort to raise the necessary funds for the project. Wilde Ganzen increases the funds raised by adding a Bonus of 70% to the net result of the campaign, after which the project can be executed. Through their donation, endowment or inheritance, the donors enable Wilde Ganzen to support hundreds of campaigns year after year. The rose of the compass is the comprehensive idea of porosity and fluidity; the four compass points encompass openness as well as connection, self-guidance as well as cooperation. In real terms, this means that the Van Eyck is a welcoming meeting-place where fluid connections exist between institute and surrounding world, between the various art disciplines and between the fields of art and science. You can read more about each one of these themes on this website.\r\n\r\nJoining forces and pooling resources is crucial to achieve the objectives of Hivos. Hivos supports over 800 partner organisations in more than 30 countries through financial means and institutional support as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience. This independence makes it possible to pursue an efficient and stimulating policy in the fields of education and research, and to take advantage of new developments. The faculty is located in the Reuvens Building on the Reuvensplaats.\r\n\r\nThe ambition of the faculty is to develop into a prominent archaeological research and training centre at a European level. In European terms, the faculty is an averagely-sized institute, with a wide range of specializations and several specialist (laboratory) facilities. Leiden can pride itself on a long archaeological tradition, going back to Professor Reuvens at the beginning of the 19th century.\r\n\r\nApart from the traditionally strong Prehistory of Northwestern Europe and Classical Archaeology, Leiden offers (as the only university in the Netherlands) a specialization in the Palaeolithic, and in the archaeology of the civilizations of the Near East, Asia, and the Americas, as well as a number of archaeological sciences, such as pollen analysis, archaeozoology, computer applications, ceramology, and microwear analysis.\r\n\r\nThe variety of non-western language and culture studies within the Faculty of Arts (CNWS), and the presence in Leiden of the National Museums of Ethnology and Antiquities, as well as Naturalis, are also enhancing factors.\r\n\r\nA clearly social responsibility of archaeology is the care of the material heritage of past cultures. International treaties (for instance Valetta) state that archaeological investigations should be carried out prior to large building projects. The faculty is active in this field via a commercial company. Hence, students get quickly involved in the practical side (traineeships) of archaeology, with attention to the managerial side of archaeological work. In addition, the faculty has agreements of cooperation with local archaeological services in the surroundings (Leiden, The Hague, Delft).\r\n\r\nAt present, the faculty has a strong market position in the Netherlands. In the last few years, the faculty has been able to welcome more than 80 new students annually. At present, the total number of students amounts to about 350.\r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 352, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 95, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 40, "latitude": 52.16, "longitude": 4.49, "city": "Leiden", "state": "Zuid-Holland", "address_1": "Haagse Schouwweg 6G", "address_2": "", "postcode": "2332 KG", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 95 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/fb/80/fb80fa8605a3e89e2b9f10a968228f6b.jpg", "latitude": "52.16", "longitude": "4.49", "city": "Leiden", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2009-03-03T12:25:11+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:51.108115+01:00", "name": "Amref Flying Doctors", "long_name": "Stichting Amref Flying Doctors Nederland", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 21, "iati_org_id": "NL-KVK-41150298", "url": "http://www.amref.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+31- (0)71-5769476 ", "mobile": "", "fax": "+31-(0) 71-5763777", "contact_person": "Maarten Mulder", "contact_email": "maarten.mulder@amref.nl", "description": "Amref is de belangrijkste Afrikaanse gezondheidsorganisatie; in Nederland heten we Amref Flying Doctors.
