"description": "The Sector Efficiency Improvement Unit (SEIU) was established in 2008 within the Ministry responsible for the guidance and implementation of the water supply and sanitation programmes of the Government of Nepal. It is currently a unit of the Water and Environment Division of the Ministry of Urban Development.\r\n\r\nIn the last decades Nepal has achieved remarkable progress in water supply coverage and service delivery, while the last ten years has seen an inspiring uptake of sanitation in the country, leading to a rapid increase in coverage. The Nepal census of 2011 measured safe water supply coverage as 85% and sanitation as 61% (status as of June 2011, National Population and Housing Census, Central Bureau of Statistics, November 2012).\r\n\r\nOn the positive side this means that Nepal has already achieved the MDG goals for water supply and sanitation. However, the quality of service and the overall functionality of water supply systems does not meet the standards set by the Government of Nepal. To correct this situation and work towards a cohesive, harmonized water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector, the Government of Nepal in 2008 indicated its intent to move to a sector-wide approach (SWAp). The SWAp is a joint effort of all Government agencies, Development Partners, CSOs and other stakeholders working in WASH. It is coordinated by the Sector Stakeholder Group (SSG).", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 2048, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1018, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 917, "latitude": 28.64488, "longitude": 77.165053, "city": "New Delhi", "state": "Delhi", "address_1": "7/5, First Floor", "address_2": "South Patel Nagar", "postcode": "110 008", "iati_country": "IN", "country": 2, "location_target": 1018 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/00/ab/00ab7964721ca58afea002ef3da8df24.jpg", "latitude": "28.64488", "longitude": "77.165053", "city": "New Delhi", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-01-14T09:54:00+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:57:00.756155+01:00", "name": "SEWA Bharat", "long_name": "Self Employed Women's Association Bharat", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.sewabharat.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+91-11-2584-1369", "mobile": "", "fax": "+91-11-2584-1369", "contact_person": "Mr. Sanjay Kumar", "contact_email": "mail@sewabharat.org", "description": "The Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) is a women’s trade union that was started in Gujarat in 1972 by Smt. Elaben Bhatt, with the aim of organising women in the informal sector. SEWA represents the convergence of three movements: the labour movement, the women’s movement and the cooperative movement. Based on the philosophy of Gandhiji, SEWA’s goal is to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. \r\n\r\nSEWA defines ‘full employment’ as employment that provides work security, income security, food security and social security. ‘Self-reliance’ refers to economic self–sufficiency and equitable roles in the decision-making process. These goals are achieved through a strategy of “struggle and development”. The struggle is against the many constraints imposed on women by society and the economy, and the development activities are aimed to strengthen women's collective bargaining power and provide them with sustainable new alternatives.\r\n\r\nGenesis of SEWA Bharat: \r\n\r\nSEWA’s experience in Gujarat provided encouragement to women in other states as well, with sister organizations being set up in a total of nine states till date. Together, these sister organizations constitute SEWA Bharat, the All-India Federation of Self Employed Women’s Associations. SEWA’s mandate is to highlight the issues of women working in the informal sector, and to strengthen the capacity of the different organizations that serve them. SEWA Bharat is a membership-based organization.\r\n\r\nLocal community health workers are the cornerstone of SEWA’s health program. Known as sathis, SEWA health workers serve the entire community, and work to organize SEWA members in their villages and neighbourhoods. They are educators, service providers and advocates. \r\n\r\n Objective: \r\nThe objectives of SEWA’s health programme are as follows:\r\n1. To build the community's capacity to demand their sexual and reproductive rights within a broader framework of the rights to health and social security \r\n2. To work with partners to bridge the gap in government services and increase the availability subsidized or free sexual, reproductive and other health services and advocating for availability, accessibility and quality of public services.\r\nSome of the schemes that SEWA actively works on are:\r\n• Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY Maternity benefit for institutional delivery)\r\n• Minority schemes\r\n• National Rural Employment Guarantee Act \r\n• RSBY- insurance for BPL families\r\n• Indira Avas Yojana\r\n• Ladli: Education of the girl child\r\n• Old age and widow pension\r\n• Worker schemes: ex. The goal is to support local initiatives in 3rd world countries with knowledge, skills and experience. The way the organisation works is that the ownership of the project is as much as possible in the hands of the local population. Most of all Source Connection wants to facilitate the initiatives of those who wants to improve the quality of life for themselves and for their community. Belonging to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness through the Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, its main objective is to develop and promote research that will help bring about scientific and technological progress, and it is prepared to collaborate with Spanish and foreign entities in order to achieve this aim.\r\nThe Institute of Heritage Sciences (Incipit) was created by the CSIC in January 2010 by resolution of its Board of Trustees. Felipe Criado-Boado, as Research Professor of CSIC, is its director. The Incipit has, in fact, a 20-year history and a complex institutional evolution. It started in 1991 as a Research Group devoted to Landscape Archaeology, in the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 2001 joined the Spanish National Research Council as Landscape Archaeology Laboratory and within the Institute of Galician Studies “Padre Sarmiento”. In 2009, after the conception of a scientific project focused on the interdisciplinary study of heritage, the group is reformulated as Heritage Laboratory (LaPa) to approach and address the problem of how heritage is constituted and valued from a broader and deeply interdisciplinar research project. Finally, in year 2010, it was incorporated into a new research institute of CSIC created at that point and settled in Santiago de Compostela.\r\nFor more information about Incipit : link to Incipit partner page on NEARCH website", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 1961, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2737, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 4147, "latitude": 51.717149, "longitude": 5.36081, "city": "Rosmalen", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 2737 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/c2/65/c2657cdacd20f4a6c2011a13c1983d18.jpg", "latitude": "51.717149", "longitude": "5.36081", "city": "Rosmalen", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2015-04-19T17:51:21.718973+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-06-03T11:06:31.982900+02:00", "name": "Spate Irrigation Network", "long_name": "Spate Irrigation Network Foundation", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 60, "iati_org_id": "NL-KVK-61267279", "url": "http://spate-irrigation.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "info@spate-irrigation.org", "description": "The Spate Irrigation Network aims to improve the livelihoods of those living in the spate irrigated areas.
