outcome of the broad minded vision of the Executive Trustee Mr. V, Venugopal who was serving as a manager of a Sericulture Development Project. On completion of the above project in August 1994, the beneficiaries were left in a lurch and continuing assistance to them was the need of the hour. The Govt. of India, who was the facilitator of the above project or any other funding agency, had no emergency rehabilitation programmes or further fund raising activities for the rescue of the beneficiaries.\r\nMr. V. Venugopal took the initiative to do something for these people with the limited resources of the land holders of N. Panjampatty and moral support of all the villagers. An autonomous setup was formed and christened as Social Service Sericulture Project which started functioning in the year 1994 itself. After a year of successful performance, a Public Charitable Trust was registered as Public Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act on 08-11-1995 with a three member Board of Trustees – the Chairman, the Executive Trustee and a female member from the beneficiaries as the third Trustee.
