The innovative six-year programme (2013-2018) facilitates partnerships between the public sector, the private sector and civil society. It addresses shared water risks on a catchment scale, while improving stakeholders’ use and management of water and building their capacity to develop their own solutions.\r\n\r\nThe programme is currently active in seven countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa on the African continent and Grenada and Saint Lucia in the Caribbean. IWaSP is receiving a growing demand and expansion into further countries is planned.\r\n\r\nIWaSP enables partners to adopt a comprehensive and cost-effective approach to managing water risks for people, businesses and ecosystems. Typical results include pollution reduction, improved access to water, increased water storage, improved water infrastructure, rehabilitated ecosystems, strengthened water governance, improved catchment specific relationships of key actors and enhanced collaborative action.\r\n\r\nThe Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH works to develop lasting solutions for sustainable development and manages IWaSP on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the UK Department for International Development (DfID).\r\n\r\nThe programme has a total funding of over EUR27m., of which BMZ has committed EUR6m, and DfID a total of EUR21.4m to the programme. The Board was established in March 1957 – on the eve of Ghana’s independence - as a result of the merger of the then interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission. The GMMB is governed by the National Liberation Council Decree (NLCD) 387 of 1969, now known as Act 387 of 1969, which was further strengthened by the Executive Instrument (E.I.) 29 of 1973.\r\n\r\nThe history of GMMB can be traced to the establishment of an Ethnographic Museum at Achimota College in 1929. That museum was transferred to the Department of Archaeology at the University of the Gold Coast, when the university was created in 1948. \r\nIn 1952, there was the awareness of the need to conserve the past. The British Colonial government then put in place an ‘Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast’ to facilitate the creation of a national museum.\r\n\r\nThe Interim Council of the National Museum of the Gold Coast and the Monuments and Relics Commission merged, and this led to the passing of the Museum and Monuments Board Ordinance (GOLD COAST No. 20 of 1957), which established the GMMB.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5066, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 291, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 161, "latitude": 52.083675, "longitude": 4.325739, "city": "Den Haag", "state": "Zuid Holland", "address_1": "Bezuidenhoutseweg 2", "address_2": "", "postcode": "2508 EH", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 291 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/2f/a6/2fa692f8e290df641130799abbbe9732.jpg", "latitude": "52.083675", "longitude": "4.325739", "city": "Den Haag", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2010-12-06T11:58:04+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:53.023231+01:00", "name": "DDD2012", "long_name": "Dutch Delta Design 2012", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.ddd2012.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Frodo van Oostveen", "contact_email": "f.vanoostveen@nwp.nl", "description": "", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 161, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 1692, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 1488, "latitude": 52.089951, "longitude": 4.316236, "city": "Den Haag", "state": "", "address_1": "Jan van Nassaustraat 102", "address_2": "2596 BW ", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 1692 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/0b/7e/0b7e00bd03d0182bd952bca1c242f822.jpg", "latitude": "52.089951", "longitude": "4.316236", "city": "Den Haag", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2013-10-01T11:21:36+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-26T13:56:55.579630+01:00", "name": "Haëlla Stichting", "long_name": "Haëlla Stichting", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.haella.nl/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "070 - 324 99 29", "mobile": "", "fax": "070 - 328 22 10", "contact_person": "Frouke Flieringa", "contact_email": "info@haella.nl", "description": "Dromen van mensen die enthousiast, betrokken en soms kwetsbaar zijn. Mostly discouragingly, children became vulnerable, lost their childhood right of protection and care and were forced to either join the fighting forces or roam the streets in search of protection and security. Consequently, their future became bleak and hopeless. It is against this background that the vision to establish an organization to cater to the holistic needs of the children was seen. Hence, on August 16, 2003, this vision was born and a Board of Directors comprising of seven persons was formed to provide support and guidance in the implementation of the organization’s vision.\r\n\r\nSince 2003 to date ECREP has been providing humanitarian services in most parts of Liberia involving rehabilitation, reconstruction and development services benefiting more than 100,000 men, women and children in nine of the fifteen political sub-divisions of Liberia; namely, Montserrado, Grand Gedeh, Grand Bassa, Grand cape Mount, Margi, Rivercess, Maryland, Sinoe and Nimba Counties.\r\n\r\nVision: ECREP envisages a peaceful, safe and healthy environment where high qualities of life for the children are exhibited.\r\n\r\nMission: To help alleviate and respond to the causes of an unsafe and unhealthy environment for the children, thereby creating an avenue where their basic needs are met.\r\n\r\nCore Value: Love, Accountability, justice, Indiscrimination and Environmental protection\r\n\r\nMotto: ‘’ Rescuing the children’’\r\n\r\nBoard of Directors\r\nThe program has a Board of Directors comprising of seven (7) persons. The Chairman of the Board of Directors has the direct oversight responsibility to work with the management team in implementing the vision and mission of the organization.\r\n\r\nManagement Team\r\nThe management Team comprises of the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director who run the affairs of the program. The Executive Director is the principal deputy to the Chief Executive Officer. The team also include the Program Coordinator, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and the Adm/Finance Officer. At the field level, a County Coordinator is assigned in each county of operation who is responsible to run the affairs of ECREP with the advice and consent of the management team.\r\n\r\nThematic We became aware of many projects, particularly outside of the Western Europe, where conservation and heritage skills were needed but people could not access or afford them. We also knew of recent graduates and heritage professionals who were keen to help but had no means of getting involved.\r\nHWB volunteers gain valuable experience in working in challenging situations, building capacity and also networking with fellow heritage professionals from different parts of the world. HWB constantly broadens its activities through working with museums, historic buildings and collections and archaeological sites internationally. Removing the barrier of ‘cost’, HWB aims to help alleviate poverty through the improvement of heritage provision.\r\nHeritage Without Borders already completed several successful projects in different regions of the world and held training in London for heritage specialists from Middle East. \r\nOur work is primarily funded through grants and donations. The Global Fund’s model is based on the concepts of country ownership and performance-based funding, which means that people in countries implement their own programs based on their priorities and the Global Fund provides financing on the condition that verifiable results are achieved.\r\nSince its creation in 2002, the Global Fund has become the main financier of programs to fight AIDS, TB and malaria, with approved funding of US$ 22.9 billion for more than 1,000 programs in 151 countries. To date, programs supported by the Global Fund have provided AIDS treatment for 3.6 million people, anti-tuberculosis treatment for 9.3 million people and 270 million insecticide-treated nets for the prevention of malaria.
