"description": "The Consórcio Intermunicipal Lagos - São João (CILSJ) is a inter-municipal non-profit watershed-based environmental agency established in 1999. For over 3 years, the CILSJ has been working with municipalities, Rio de Janeiro State and Federal governments, companies and local communities to ensure the conservation, restoration and responsible management of our water, land, sea and biodiversity through programs that balance human, environmental and economic needs. CILSJ is comitted to improving environment for the present and next generations.\r\n\r\nSimilarly to Conservation Autorities in Canada and USA, our organization operates under the direction of a board comprised of local municipalities, companies, NGOs (Non Governamental Organizations) and the Environmental State Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro representatives. There are currently 12 municipalities (Armação dos Búzios, Araruama, Arraial do Cabo, Cabo Frio, Cachoeiras de Macacú, Casimiro de Abreu, Iguaba Grande, Rio Bonito, Rio das Ostras, São Pedro da Aldeia, Saquarema and Silva Jardim), 5 companies and more than fifty NGOs which are part of our organization. The NGOs have two representatives on the Board.\r\n\r\nThe CILSJ is not a regulatory or licensing organization, and has no legal or policy basis to regulate resource use in any of the jurisdictions. However, the CILSJ may influence regulatory decisions in a number of ways: \r\n\r\n· By providing factual material, such as aquatic ecosystem reports, to inform development decision makers.\r\n· By participating in and influencing pre or post regulatory processes, such as planning, regional or environmental impact assessment processes;\r\n· Managing the water resources in a manner consistent with the maintenance of the ecological integrity of the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems; \r\n· Managing the use of the water resources in a sustainable manner for present and future generations;\r\n· Providing for early and effective consultation, notification and sharing of information on developments and activities that might affect the ecological integrity of the aquatic ecosystem;",

"description": "Catholic Health Commission, is an arm of the Catholic Church under the Diocese of Chikwawa. The Health Commission operates under the guidance of The Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM), which is the highest policy making Council of Bishops responsible for the running and management of pastoral and social teaching of the Catholic Church in Malawi. The Health Commission operates within the field of HBC in terms of HIV prevention, care and support interventions based on the principles developed under the umbrella of ECM Home Based Care projects. Its vision is to have a healthy Society that is able to access improved and affordable Health Services. It identifies itself by a mission which is continuation of the healing ministry of Jesus Christ through promotion of human life by coordinating and providing affordable Health Services to rural and urban areas in Malawi. As such Health Commission is also responsible for facilitating and monitoring the quality of Health services in the diocese. The Commission works with Community Based Organisations (CBO) to reach out to the needy people in various communities within its parishes. Consequently, the implementation of interventions in HBC depends greatly on the role played by community volunteers that are closely working with the immediate caregivers. Therefore, the support the church is providing to the community groups has helped and encouraged communities to respond positively in caring and supporting the HBC clients within the respective communities. During the last three years with support from Cordaid, the Commission has a record of success stories in issues of mobilisation of community volunteers such that it has created a good network of volunteers and the health facilities within its catchment areas. It has also strengthened the community structures hence making the HBC groups sustainable.",

The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country.\r\nIn more than five decades, the agency has helped people restart their lives. Today, a staff of around 6,650 people in more than 110 countries continues to help 34.4 million people.",

The organisation stimulates all kinds of artistic and cultural activities, especially Kotéba theatre and research into traditions and rituals in Malian theatre. Furthermore, Acte SEPT uses theatre to address disputed subjects in Malian society, such as female genital mutilation and migration. Acte SEPT also wants to offer training for newly graduated young artists and offer them a chance to make a living from theatre. \r\n\r\nActe SEPT organizes a regional theatre festival in Bamako every two years. They are also in the process of founding a permanent theatre group. Acte Sept strives to establish relationships with at least ten municipalities in Mali, in order to also bring their performances to rural communities.",

It provides a platform for dialogue for a cross section of land owners and land users including local community groups, private ranchers, pastoralists, small scale farmers and tourism ventures. The principal resource and strength of the LWF is its membership.\r\n\r\nMission:\r\nTo conserve Laikipia’s wildlife and ecosystem integrity and improve the lives of its people by bringing its societies together to conserve and sustainably use the natural resources on which they depend.\r\n\r\nVision:\r\nTo see a healthy and productive natural environment for people and wildlife for the future of Laikipia & Kenya.\r\n\r\nHistory:\r\nLWF was created in response to an initiative by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) designed to engage landowners and land users in the conservation and management of wildlife in non-protected areas. Since its inception in 1992 there has been a significant expansion of localised conservation effort and expertise in relation to wild animals. Whilst wild animals remain central to the conservation effort, LWF has taken an increasingly holistic approach with emphasis on cross-cutting environmental issues that affect larger sections of the population.",
