We do this together with partners in 10 African and Asian countries. Our goal is a world in which all women and girls can exercise their right to water and sanitation, resulting in a healthier and more just society. \r\n\r\nIn a rapidly changing world grappling with major crises in the areas of climate, health and human rights, Simavi focuses on three areas where we believe we can achieve the greatest impact with our projects, lobbying and campaigns: equality, climate and power. \r\n\r\nWe want to increase the involvement and leadership of women in water and sanitation. We believe that women's and girls' access to climate-resilient water and sanitation is at the heart of climate justice. We are also convinced that women's voices and expertise are crucial for change when it comes to water and sanitation. \r\n\r\nOur work is part of the Sustainable Development Goals and Simavi focuses specifically on three interconnected SDGs: water and sanitation (SDG6); gender equality (SDG5) and climate (SDG13).

"description": "Solidaridad is an international organization dedicated to responsible food production to feed the growing world population and to providing the world with an alternative to fossil fuels like oil and gas.\r\n\r\nSolidaridad is convinced that the agricultural sector can produce more efficiently so that it will be able to feed the world population in 2050, as well as supply energy and plastic to the industry. That is why Solidaridad is investing in enterprising farmers in developing countries and putting emphasis on the improvement of their land use, so that production can increase while at the same time harm to people and the environment is decreased. \r\n\r\nMining and industry need to switch to a responsible means of production. Worker rights are respected and the environment is preserved for future generations, keeping intact its potential.\r\n\r\nSolidaridad focuses on the production chains that matter worldwide and where changes have great impact: coffee, tea, cacao, fruit, textiles, cotton, soy, palm oil, sugar cane, gold and cattle breeding. - See more at: http://solidaridadnetwork.org/aboutus#sthash.WLXU0RrI.dpuf",

"description": "Transparency International–Kenya (TI-Kenya) is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1999 in Kenya with the aim of developing a transparent and corruption free society through good governance and social justice initiatives. TI-Kenya is one of the autonomous chapters of the global Transparency International movement that are all bound by a common vision of a corruption-free world. The global movement provides a platform for sharing knowledge and experience, developing strategies to respond to regionally distinct patterns of corruption and initiating advocacy campaigns at both the regional and sub-regional level. The vision of TI Kenya is that of a transparent, accountable and corruption-free Kenya and the mission is to transform the society and institutions by supporting the development of high integrity leadership in all sectors and at all levels. TI-Kenya’s key goals are: Institutions that are efficient and deliver quality services; and, a society that upholds and promotes integrity.\r\n\r\nThe strategic objectives are:\r\n•\tTo strengthen governance in targeted institutions – TI-Kenya believes that strengthening governance in public institutions will significantly enhance their efficiency and ensure they deliver quality services to the public. It is thus targeting public institutions in the water, education, health, humanitarian aid, climate finance governance, the police and extractive sectors. \r\n•\tTo develop an effective legislative and policy environment - TI-Kenya supports the development of quality laws (in respect to integrity, transparency and accountability) and monitors their implementation.\r\n•\tTo strengthen the capacity of the public to recognize and fight corruption - TI-Kenya works towards strengthening the capacity of the public to recognize corrupt practices and take action against such practices. TI-Kenya pays special focus on the youth as a key pillar in enhancing integrity and fighting corruption.\r\n\r\nTI-Kenya’s key approaches include research, partnerships development, capacity building and civic engagement. \r\nThrough the Advocacy and Legal Advisory Centres (ALACs) in Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi, interventions in the education sector in Kisumu, Kwale and Trans Nzoia, and the Humanitarian Aid Integrity Programme implemented in Turkana, Wajir and West Pokot, TI-Kenya has spread its work to the masses, engaging more Kenyans in the fight against corruption and constructively engaged county governments. TI-Kenya has contributed towards the development of key laws necessitated by the Constitution, particularly in regard to integrity provisions. The organization developed amendments to the Leadership and Integrity law, and drafted the Whistleblower Protection Bill. TI-Kenya in addition contributed amendments to the Climate Change Bill, Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Bill, 2014 and the Health Bill among others. TI-Kenya drafted the model county Access to Information and Public Participation bills and engaged four counties in the adoption of these bills. Civic engagement is central in TI-Kenya’s strategy. Through the ALACs, TI-Kenya is empowering Kenyans to actively participate in anti-corruption efforts while providing a vehicle through which they can report and pursue corruption-related complaints, with over 5,000 people given legal advice in the last year. TI-Kenya has to date initiated the formation of 102 integrity clubs to engage students in ethical and integrity learning. \r\n",

"description": "UNDP is the United Nations' global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 177 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners.\r\n\r\nWorld leaders have pledged to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, including the overarching goal of cutting poverty in half by 2015. UNDP's network links and coordinates global and national efforts to reach these Goals. Our focus is helping countries build and share solutions to the challenges of:\r\n\r\nDemocratic Governance\r\nPoverty Reduction\r\nCrisis Prevention & Recovery\r\nEnvironment & Energy\r\nHIV/AIDS\r\n\r\nUNDP helps developing countries attract and use aid effectively. In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights, capacity development and the empowerment of women.\r\n\r\nThe annual Human Development Report, commissioned by UNDP, focuses the global debate on key development issues, providing new measurement tools, innovative analysis and often controversial policy proposals. The global Report's analytical framework and inclusive approach carry over into regional, national and local Human Development Reports, also supported by UNDP.\r\n\r\nIn each country office, the UNDP Resident Representative normally also serves as the Resident Coordinator of development activities for the United Nations system as a whole. Through such coordination, UNDP seeks to ensure the most effective use of UN and international aid resources.",

In particular, the work of the group is focused on mobility (including tourism, leisure and migration studies) and the cultural politics of landscape (including questions of place, community, and heritage) in relation to spatial theory. A third area of interest is the intersection between people, nature, culture and landscape\r\nOne of the main research projects of the chair group, coordinated by Prof. René van der Duim, focuses on the relation between tourism, development and conservation in sub-Saharan Africa. \r\n",

The Alliance works directly with around 113 Southern partners, with 3 other northern organisations as sub contractors (Both Ends, Practica Foundation, and RUAF/ETC) and a much broader group of southern and northern Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that cooperate within the Alliance.\r\n\r\nComplementarity is brought by strengthening civil society and bringing in innovative approaches, such as covering the full WASH chain within a new framework of sustainability, ICT solutions and supporting WASH expertise centres on innovative technologies. Broad partnerships are build with a diverse array of actors in South and North (CSOs, knowledge institutes, financial institutions, governments, utilities and entrepreneurs). Public participation is enabled through a unique web-based reporting platform, and embedded through the involvement of CSOs in the South and through public campaigning on advocacy issues by Alliance members and cooperation with private initiatives in the Netherlands.",
