The overall objective of DRSRS is to gather and analyse data and information regarding the natural resources of Kenya and to provide interdisciplinary analysis of such information as it relates to natural resources planning, management and policy formulation at a national, regional and district level. In assessing natural resources, DRSRS primarily employs aerial survey methods in gathering data, while ground surveys are undertaken primarily for ground-truthing. Other modern technology including satellite images (NOAA, Landsat and Spot) and Geographic Information System (GIS) facilitate development and use of database of natural resources. Systematic reconnaissance flight (SRF) surveys over the Kenyan rangelands have been used to collect data on wildlife and livestock distribution and abundance and environmental information are collected. The overriding concern in implementing these surveys has been to maintain continuity in procedures such that consistency of the data is maintained. Consequently, these data are valuable source of information on the distribution, abundance and trend of wildlife/livestock populations and environmental conditions within the Kenya rangelands.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 5203, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 3114, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 4987, "latitude": 52.367084, "longitude": 4.886931, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "NL", "country": 3, "location_target": 3114 } ], "logo": null, "latitude": "52.367084", "longitude": "4.886931", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2015-11-11T15:28:50.594665+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-11-11T15:28:51.721197+01:00", "name": "SDO", "long_name": "Stichting Dogon Onderwijs (Nederland)", "language": "en", "organisation_type": null, "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 60, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://dogononderwijs.nl/blue-pump-mali", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Jan Joost Peskens", "contact_email": "jpeskens@upcmail.nl", "description": "", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 4987, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2831, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 4571, "latitude": 50.8403345, "longitude": 4.3586215, "city": "Brussels", "state": "", "address_1": "Karmelietenstraat 15", "address_2": "", "postcode": "1000", "iati_country": "BE", "country": 71, "location_target": 2831 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/5d/72/5d724b1078ca3f5544cc81658b5fcf9f.jpg", "latitude": "50.8403345", "longitude": "4.3586215", "city": "Brussels", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2015-05-27T12:20:19.310344+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-05-27T12:27:50.608454+02:00", "name": "DGD (Belgium)", "long_name": "Belgium Development Cooperation", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "G", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 10, "iati_org_id": "BE-BCE-0308358149", "url": "http://diplomatie.belgium.be/en/policy/development_cooperation/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "003225018111", "mobile": "003225014585", "fax": "", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "Humanitarian aid differs from the other types of aid that Belgium provides to developing countries. It has a clearly defined mandate: to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity.\r\n\r\nBelgium's humanitarian aid strategy results from an inspired approach to humanitarian law, principles and good practice for humanitarian aid (\"Good Humanitarian Donorship\") and the European Union (EU) Consensus on humanitarian aid. Belgian humanitarian aid is therefore in line with the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence. The principle of humanity involves taking initiatives to combat human suffering, regardless of the region involved, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable individuals. The dignity of all victims must be respected and protected. The principle of impartiality means that humanitarian aid can only be provided in accordance with requirements, with no discrimination between or within the ethnic groups affected. Neutrality means that no party involved in armed or unarmed conflict may receive preferential treatment in the context of humanitarian aid. Independence means that the bodies involved in humanitarian aid are not bound by any other political decisions and actions taken by the donors in the field.\r\n\r\nBelgium's humanitarian efforts primarily involve support for international and civil partner organisations with proven expertise and ability to achieve; they must also be prepared to demonstrate transparency in their reports. This statistic is overwhelming. \r\n\r\n\r\nHowever, microfinance is recognised as a sustainable, scaleable poverty alleviation response, providing resources to individuals to support and grow their livelihoods and improve the quality of their lives. Currently, we estimate that microfinance in India serves around 20 million of an estimated 100 million potential households. This leaves at least 80 million households unserved and trapped in a cycle of poverty.\r\n\r\nThe portfolio of 18 microfinance institutions (MFIs) we support in India serve over 16,00,000 million clients today. The Mission of the organization is “To champion, expand and actualize women’s rights”. CREAW has created a niche in championing women rights in Kenya, through the use of bold, innovative and holistic interventions for the realization of women’s rights. \r\n\r\nIn the theory of change, CREAW believes that social transformation can happen through a shifting of social norms and practices that curtail the realization of women’s rights. This is done through legislative and policy advocacy, activism, public awareness, public interest litigation and innovative research. The desired change should be evident in attitudes, knowledge, skills, levels of awareness, behavior and health at personal, family, communal and societal levels. \r\n\r\nIn CREAW’s views, change requires a catalyst. As that catalyst, CREAW sees its role as lying in: Civic engagement, mentorship, dismantling patriarchy, seeking accountability at all levels, awareness raising, working through smart networks and movement building, broadening and deepening knowledge, inclusiveness and constant innovation. CREAW’s values are based on one fundamental principle of “Love’ actualized through it’s values:- Integrity, Professionalism, Passion, Innovativeness and Synergy. CREAW’s programs are thus anchored on enthusiastic lobbying and advocacy to support the interest of the constituents who are the women and children of Kenya. These programs include; Access to Justice for disadvantaged women and children, Governance and Leadership and Sexual and Reproductive health program for women and girls.. \r\n\r\nThus, CREAW programs aim is to:-\r\n1. Create public awareness and sensitize society on women’s rights; to respect, defend and uphold women human rights as well as promote equal rights of women.\r\n2.
