Also donkey carts, etc. But as many initiatives in Niger, they suffer by the lack of knowledge and funding.\r\nThe actual director of C-DARMA, mister Boubacar Adamou Dioffo was uptil recently the chief production of Volanta hand pumps at ACREMA, Tahoua. He took the initiative to seek partnerships to assist them by expanding their activities. This includes starting the production of spare parts for the Volanta pump in Dosso to assure local availability of spare parte and so to improve rural water supply.\r\n",

"description": "Both ENDS sees a world out of balance. Nature, and therefore people, in developing countries are paying the price for our economic growth and our Western consumption patterns. Because energy demand is growing explosively in Western countries, huge tracts of usable land in developing countries are expropriated and used for crops such as rapeseed, corn, soybean and sugar cane. This is then used as raw materials for biofuels, not as food. Not only is this monoculture very bad for the environment (for several reasons), but it compromises food security. This is just one of many abuses in developing countries that are caused by our excessive consumption patterns.",

The library was initially stocked with donated books from some libraries across the world. Most of the initial set of books in the library do not have local content although are good for general knowledge reading purposes. We were able o successfully raise funds from local and international friends to acquire books recommended by the Ghana Education Service for all levels of education. \r\nTo engage the youth further, BoldSteps has set up the KYTE Centre which serves a multi-purpose location for the youth of Kajelo. BoldSteps, through the centre currently sponsors an U15 football tournament . Football is about the only sport capable of bringing all youth together even without prior announcement or at short notice.\r\n \r\nOur ability to organise the youth even at short notice has been taken advantage of and currently we use that and our over two dozen volunteers to educatepeople with aim of reducing HIV/AIDS Stigmatisation. "description": "Biome Environmental is a Bangalore-based firm focused on ecology and architecture. Created by the 2008 merger of Chitra K. Vishwanath Architects and Rainwater Club, Biome’s diverse in-house team includes designers, architects, civil and mechanical engineers and urban planners. The merging organizations have operated since 1990 and bring their unique talents to the new firm:\r\n\r\nChitra K. Vishwanath Architects\r\nHas designed and implemented hundreds of real estate developments – residences, institutions and resorts – guided by ecological principles, integrating sound water, energy and land-use thinking into design\r\n\r\nRainwater Club\r\nHas extensive expertise in providing knowledge services in water management and rainwater harvesting, ecological wastewater treatment and sanitation practices\r\n\r\nBiome’s unique capability lies in thinking through the key ecological and social issues in each project. We have extensive working relationships with specialized knowledge experts in bio-diversity, tourism, hydrogeology, and material science, whose contributions we synthesize into a coherent design strategy and plan of action.\r\nDesign is a highly personal process, and we place great emphasis on client interactions to ensure the final project incorporates the vision of sustainability with the client’s aspirations for aesthetics, functionality, and budget.\r\n\r\nOur approach\r\n\r\nBiome’s guiding philosophy is defined by an enduring commitment to environmentally and socially responsible living. The question we constantly ask ourselves is how to make positives changes in the design of our buildings and cities to reduce their environmentally harmful effects, facilitate a lifestyle in harmony with the natural world, and benefit everyone involved in the process – from the end-user to the plumber and the mason.\r\n\r\nOne standard we measure our success against is the ecological footprint, which is a tool for measuring our impact on the planet’s resources. Our architectural approach strives to reduce the ecological footprint of our buildings while humanising the urban development for a balanced, clean, and “natural” living environment that does not compromise on comforts and aesthetic. Our approach to water sustainability looks at ways to lower water demand without inconvenience and to improve long-term water security in an increasingly water scarce world.",

"description": "The Bernard van Leer Foundation funds and shares knowledge about work in early childhood development. The foundation was established in 1949 and is based in the Netherlands. Our income is derived from the sale of Royal Packaging Industries Van Leer N.V., bequeathed to the foundation by Dutch industrialist and philanthropist Bernard van Leer (1883 to 1958, pictured). (More about our history and income).\r\n\r\nOur mission is to improve opportunities for children up to age 8 who are growing up in socially and economically difficult circumstances. We see this both as a valuable end in itself and as a long-term means to promoting more cohesive, considerate and creative societies with equal opportunities and rights for all. \r\n\r\nOur grantmaking works primarily through supporting programmes implemented by local partners in selected countries. Our partners include public, private and community-based organisations. Working through partnerships is intended to build local capacity, promote innovation and flexibility, and help to ensure that the work we fund is culturally and contextually appropriate.\r\n\r\nWe also aim to leverage our impact by working with influential allies to advocate for young children. Our free publications share lessons we have learned from our own grantmaking activities and feature agenda-setting contributions from outside experts. Through our publications and advocacy, we aim to inform and influence policy and practice not only in the countries where we operate but globally.",

"description": "Brief history and nature of the organization:\r\nBVHA is a Secular & Voluntary Association of Charitable Hospital, Health Centres formed in the year 1969 and got registered in February 1970 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 at Patna, Bihar. BVHA pioneered the movement of Voluntary Health Association in India. Other State Voluntary Health Association that have sprung-up in many states of India, including the Central Body Voluntary Health Association of India, New Delhi after BVHA's inception. BVHA works to make Health a reality for the people of Bihar especially the weaker section of the Society through Voluntary organization with the active involvement and the participation of the community. BVHA has been contributing immensely by providing impetus and direction to the Community Health upliftment in Bihar State for the last 44 years.\r\n\r\nDuring the initial years BVHA was mainly involved with the hospitals and relief activities during the natural calamities. Gradually it stepped down to the grass-root level NGOs and put effort to make a network of voluntary organizations directly associated with the mass and responding to their health needs with the involvement of large network of 127 members and more than 300 associate non-member voluntary organizations at present. Now BVHA not only conducts relief but also actively involved in capacity building programmes of voluntary organizations and developing model programmes for the major health problems e.g. Reproductive Health Issues Malaria, T.B., Diarrhoea, IDD, Kala-azar , Water Born Diseases ,Tobacco related diseases , Life style disorder etc.\r\n\r\nGoal:\r\nThe goal of BVHA is to have a healthy community through community health action, by promoting social justice in the provision & distribution of health care. It is believed that people grow better when they are encouraged to do whatever they can for themselves. It is hoped that good health may become a reality for all the people only through organizational activities at the voluntary level. Persons and associations classed as voluntary have great opportunity to help people at the weakest & most depressed. To see the value of good health and have access to basic health services as human rights. Primary health is the prime crux of the health care delivery system and is most important to ensure community health promotion.",
