Then in 1991, through a nationally competitive process, it became a Special Research of the Australian Research Council. \r\n\r\nAs one of only two federally-funded special research centres on Asia in Australia, its brief was to enhance Australia’s understanding of its Asian environments by providing analysis of social, political, cultural, and economic change in East and Southeast Asia. \r\n\r\nThe Asia Research Centre develops several strategies to maintain its role as an internationally recognized leader in research on contemporary Asia. In line with this, key projects in 2000 examined globalization as well as national and local systems of governance, and cross-border policy issues including human impact of animal diseases, environmentally sustainable settlements and reverse migration. \r\n\r\nThe Centre was reconstituted in 2002 as a divisional centre at Murdoch University. Since then its objectives have been to: produce high quality academic research publications for international and domestic audiences; foster the development of high research graduates; and contribute constructively to public policy debate and public understanding on various issues concerning Asia. \r\n", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 747, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2760, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 4170, "latitude": 14.599512, "longitude": 120.984219, "city": "Manilla", "state": "", "address_1": "", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "PH", "country": 32, "location_target": 2760 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/37/80/3780d8bbb02950de73c8725f2bb863db.jpg", "latitude": "14.599512", "longitude": "120.984219", "city": "Manilla", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2015-04-22T16:20:33.461170+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-04-28T10:28:06.866219+02:00", "name": "Asian Development Bank", "long_name": "Asian Development Bank", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "G", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 40, "iati_org_id": null, "url": "http://www.adb.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+ 63 2 632 4444", "mobile": "", "fax": " + 63 2 636 2444", "contact_person": "", "contact_email": "", "description": "The Asian Development Bank aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty. Amref has 50 years’ experience in health development. In 1957, three surgeons founded the Flying Doctors Service of East Africa, laying the foundation for what is now one of the continent’s leading health development and research organisations. Today, Amref implements its projects through country programmes in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and South Africa. Training and consulting support are provided to an additional 30 African countries.\r\n\r\nKnowledge is a core product of Amref activities. Amref implements projects to learn, and shares this evidence-based knowledge with others to advocate for changes in health policy and practice. Based on the belief that health is a basic human right, Amref seeks to empower communities to take control of their health and to establish a vibrant and participatory health care system made up of communities, health workers and governments.\r\n\r\nOur Strategic Focus:\r\nAmref strategy seeks to strengthen health systems and to design and enhance interventions that improve people’s access to health through their active participation. We now work with 11 major faiths through the key traditions within each faith. We are not funded by any faith group.\r\n\r\nWhy work with the religions?\r\n\r\n- The faiths are the largest sector of civil society; 85% of the world’s people describe themselves as belonging to a faith.\r\n- The faiths own 7-8% of the habitable land surface of the planet, including 5% of forests worldwide. They also have influence over 15% of forests considered sacred.\r\n- They are involved in more than half of schools worldwide.\r\n- They are among the largest investment blocks on the global stock market.\r\n- They produce more newspapers than the whole of the European Union.\r\n- More important, they are trusted as a source – often the leading source – of wisdom, information and authority in many parts of the world.", "notes": "", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 55, "content_owner": null, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 421, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 60, "latitude": 5.555717, "longitude": -0.196306, "city": "Accra", "state": "Greater Accra", "address_1": "P O Box CT 6103", "address_2": "Cantonments", "postcode": " ", "iati_country": "GH", "country": 11, "location_target": 421 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/e3/93/e3933af9247c8911dad05321948bd226.jpg", "latitude": "5.555717", "longitude": "-0.196306", "city": "Accra", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2011-10-04T09:31:18+02:00", "last_modified_at": "2016-03-08T09:26:49.699093+01:00", "name": "Alliance for Reproductive", "long_name": "Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights ARHR", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": "", "url": "http://arhr.org.gh/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "+233-302-504468", "mobile": "+233-24-3690339", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Dela Gle", "contact_email": "brightkok@yahoo.com", "description": "The Alliance for Reproductive Health Rights (ARHR) is a Ghanaian registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was established by a network of NGOs to promote rights-based approaches to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in Ghana through advocacy, capacity building and research.\r\n\r\nARHR exists to advocate for the reproductive rights of the poor, especially women, young persons and other disadvantaged groups in underserved regions.\r\n\r\nARHR seeks more equitable access to SRH services for the underserved, advocates for increased resources to areas of highest risk and builds capacity of vulnerable populations to understand their health rights and demand appropriate services and information from duty bearers, for themselves.\r\n\r\nARHR seeks to promote social justice, particularly in health-related issues among underserved and socially marginalised communities by addressing social, economic and geographical inequalities in the provision and impact of health services.\r\n", "notes": "duplicate 1871 deleted", "can_create_projects": false, "enforce_program_projects": false, "use_project_roles": false, "public_iati_file": true, "enforce_2fa": false, "can_become_reporting": false, "iati_prefixes": null, "primary_location": 60, "content_owner": 421, "original": null, "password_policy": null, "codelist": null, "internal_org_ids": [] }, { "id": 2660, "total_budgets": [], "recipient_org_budgets": [], "region_budgets": [], "country_budgets": [], "total_expenditures": [], "documents": [], "locations": [ { "id": 3624, "latitude": 52.016976, "longitude": -0.50456, "city": "", "state": "", "address_1": "The Akabusi Company 14 Doolittle Mill Froghall Road Ampthill Beds", "address_2": "", "postcode": "", "iati_country": "GB", "country": 39, "location_target": 2660 } ], "logo": "https://storage.googleapis.com/akvo-rsr-production-media-files/cache/1b/cf/1bcfa0bdbf4b839aab36afc9756ac3bc.jpg", "latitude": "52.016976", "longitude": "-0.50456", "city": "", "current_user_permissions": { "can_create_iati_export": false, "can_edit_iati_export": false }, "created_at": "2015-02-27T10:04:33.658682+01:00", "last_modified_at": "2015-02-27T10:04:33.706056+01:00", "name": "TACT", "long_name": "The Akabusi Charitable Trust", "language": "en", "organisation_type": "N", "currency": "EUR", "new_organisation_type": 22, "iati_org_id": "2fvfdvj0ccv", "url": "http://www.akabusitrust.org/", "facebook": "", "twitter": "", "linkedin": "", "phone": "", "mobile": "1525840183", "fax": "", "contact_person": "Kriss Akabusi", "contact_email": "info@akabusi.com", "description": "The Akabusi Charitable Trust (TACT) is a charitable organisation that strives to make a difference to the poorer communities in Africa, and particularly in Nigeria, the country of origin of TACT’s Founder and Chairman Kriss Akabusi MBE MA, who many will recognise for his achievements in athletics.\nTACT works with local partners in Nigeria to help support local communities in overcoming poverty. As the global network of people living with HIV, GNP+’s core strategy is to operationalise the GIPA principle at all levels of the global response through involving PLHIV in all aspects of the HIV response and related services. Since the founding of the organisation, GNP+’s core activities have centred on advocacy, information and knowledge management, and network and community strengthening. Advocacy has been the traditional focus of GNP+ and has included a range of strategies such as activism; campaign and \r\npolicy dialogue; programmes; and services. \r\nIn order to improve the advocacy efforts taken, GNP+ has increasingly invested its time and resources into action research and knowledge management to effectively communicate the information and evidence originating from said research. \r\nGNP+, as a network of networks, undertakes its daily work aided by management support from an international Secretariat and strategic guidance and oversight from the international Board. Through this network of networks structure, GNP+ has supported PLHIV to organise themselves to improve their lives and articulate their needs from the community level through international policy forums. GNP+ currently consists of six regional, autonomous PLHIV networks which serve as regional hubs for national and local networks. GNP+ also provides a platform for new and emerging PLHIV networks among specific populations and constituencies and through social media.
