Their commitment is to ensure that all people have access to drinking water and sanitation in accordance with the Montreal Charter and Strasbourg Declaration, the movement’s founding documents. The ISW is based in Montreal, Canada, and SEE is based in Strasbourg, France.\r\n\r\nBuilding on evolving knowledge, innovative partnerships and creativity, ISW-SWE develops initiatives that uphold the universal right to water, while preserving the resources for future generations. The network and its partners build bridges and enable dialogue between all stakeholders — government, civil society, education and the private sector.\r\n\r\nOur activities fall under three spheres of action:\r\n\r\nField projects;\r\nAdvocacy and awareness;\r\nYouth outreach.\r\nWe have a special focus on smaller rural and semi-urban communities, where the need for adequate infrastructure is often greatest. Using watersheds as a framework, we help communities implement integrated water resource management.",

"description": "The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) was created in Geneva in November 2002 following recommendations formulated during the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg two months earlier. The mandate called for the federation and unification of the disparate rainwater harvesting (RWH) movement around the world, to promote rainwater as a valuable water resource and to build on achievements in this field for the fulfilment of the Millennium Development Goals.\r\n\r\nIn partnership with the most eminent organisations and individuals in the field, the IRHA provides a lobbying and advocacy platform for RWH. It supports the growth of RWH solutions to water supply problems. It also provides a forum for its members to work together or share experiences, and thus for the benefit of people living with water scarcity.",

"description": "The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) is advancing trade to improve the economic situation and livelihoods of people across the Islamic world. As an autonomous entity within the Islamic Development Bank Group, the ITFC was formed to consolidate the trade finance business that was formerly undertaken by various windows within the IDB Group. The consolidation of the bank’s trade finance activities under a single umbrella increases the efficiency of service delivery by enabling rapid response to customer needs in a market-driven business environment.\r\n \r\nAs a leader in Shari’ah-compliant trade finance, we deploy our expertise and funds to businesses and governments in member countries of the OIC. Our primary focus is encouraging intra-trade among member countries, and we are active in developing and diversifying Islamic finance solutions to further trade. As an international financial service organization, we have a rigorous commitment to work with our clients in proactive, accountable and efficient ways.\r\n \r\nAs a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, we have unique access to governments and work as a facilitator to mobilize private and public resources to achieve a measurable impact on trade and development. The ITFC helps businesses in Islamic countries gain better access to trade finance and provides them with the necessary education and training to compete successfully in the global marketplace. Our efforts are geared to building stronger trade relations between member countries and giving individuals opportunities to grow and prosper.\r\n \r\nRespect for our Islamic heritage is at the heart of everything we do. We have a clear vision: to share and apply our intra trade skills – linking together people, partnerships and possibilities to make strong connections that empower, expand and enrich economies, communities and individuals. We are robust and responsible at our core but balance this with an energy and drive – seeking out new opportunities that enable the Islamic world to prosper.\r\n \r\nThe four cornerstones of our business – our customers, business partners, member countries and our products and services – provide a solid foundation on which we are building a promising and exciting future. Operating to world-class standards, the ITFC promotes the IDB Groups developmental objectives through its two main pillars, Trade Finance and Trade Promotion, to fulfill its brand promise of 'Advancing Trade & Improving Lives'.",

In carrying out this mission, IFDC pioneers and catalyses improved plant nutrient performance by developing and disseminating new technologies and practices and also strengthens input and output markets for the benefit of smallholder farmers. Prominent market development methodologies also include creation and strengthening of value chains using the Competitive Agricultural Systems and Enterprises (CASE) methodology, implementation of voucher systems to deliver “smart subsidies” that promote increased use of production inputs distributed through commercial agro-input suppliers and several complex and robust systems of providing market information systems for use by farmers, input suppliers, buyers and business service providers (e.g., AfricaFertilizer.org) \r\n\r\nIFDC has a full-time multidisciplinary headquarters staff of over 90 international professionals (e.g., agronomists, economists, business development specialists, credit specialists, MIS specialists, program management specialists, marketing specialists, financial analysts, soil scientists, chemists, chemical engineers) and a total program staff worldwide of more than 700 to address development issues in a technically sound and holistic fashion. In West Africa, over 250 staff members work in 9 countries in close collaboration with national and regional partners to implement projects funded by USAID and other donors.",

"description": "The International Center (IC) is a Washington, DC based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 1977 to focus on issues between the United States and the developing world. The International Center currently has programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The International Center has five programs: the U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council Education Forum, the New Forests Project, Veterans International/Cambodia, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and IC Sports Corps.\r\n\r\nThe U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council Education Forum (USVTC-EF) has played a major leadership role in building the relationship between the U.S. and Vietnam. USVTC-EF seeks the full normalization of U.S.-Vietnam relations; helps create essential policy frameworks for building a new economic partnership between the two nations; and provides assistance for the establishment of links that increase bilateral trade and investment. USVTC-EF has played a key role in the negotiation and implementation of the U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) and Vietnam's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and continues to work closely with Vietnam on next steps in Vietnam's economic integration and development.\r\n\r\nThe New Forests Project (NFP) supports reforestation and agroforestry projects in the developing world that protect and restore natural forests, reverse land degradation and promote land-use practices that increase productivity and sustainability. NFP consists of two protects: the World Seed Program and the Clean Water initiative. The World Seed Program supplies free seeds and other supplies to in-country partners who redistribute the seeds locally. NFP also provides agroforestry trainings, small grants for the purchase of equipment for reforestation efforts among other things. Since 1982, NFP has helped plant over 8 million trees around the globe. The Clean Water Initiative supports local water associations, committees and organizations in their efforts to provide clean, reliable water and sanitation services to rural communities in Central America and the Caribbean.\r\n\r\nVeterans International Cambodia (VIC) assists in the rehabilitation of Cambodians living with disabilities and helps them to lead active, fulfilling lives. VIC' s goal is to support victims of war and poverty who are often living on the margins of society. VIC supports three rehabilitation centers across Cambodia where people with disabilities receive rehabilitation services, prosthetics, orthotics, and other equipment. Patients also have the opportunity to meet with self- help groups and community organizations. These groups allow people with disabilities and their family members to socialize, share their experiences, and build self-confidence. Groups are given microloans to manage and start small, self-sustaining co-op projects such as fish farms or rice banks. Members are encouraged to have a voice and become involved in their community' s development.\r\n\r\nFounded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF) is a humanitarian organization that addresses the consequences of war through programs of advocacy and service in Vietnam. VVAF receives grants from the Department of State and other organizations to conduct landmine clearance projects in Vietnam with the Technology Centre for Bomb and Mine Disposal Engineering Command (BOMICEN). VVAF and its project partners carryout surveys to collect information about the prevalence and burden of the most common mental disorders and the effects this has on the individuals and their families. VVAF is also engaged in upgrading and constructing schools in various provinces around Vietnam.\r\n\r\nThe International Center' s Sports Corps Division aims to improve understanding between the people of developing countries and the United States through the medium of youth sports. Our sport exchange programs create a dynamic environment for youth of various SE Asian countries to better understand each other and demonstrate how sports can overcome economic, religious, and geographic differences. These exchange programs, mainly focusing on young women and their coaches, seek to empower, teach, and inspire these women to improve themselves and their communities through sport.",

"description": "The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) is a global research institute with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and regional offices in Nairobi, Kenya, and New Delhi, India. Our research evidence identifies women’s contributions as well as the obstacles that prevent them from being economically strong and able to fully participate in society. ICRW translates these insights into a path of action that honors women’s human rights, ensures gender equality and creates the conditions in which all women can thrive.\n\nICRW comprises social scientists, economists, public health specialists and demographers, all of whom are experts in gender relations. We are thought leaders driven by a passion to alleviate poverty and rectify injustice in the world. And we believe that women and girls – in collaboration with men and boys – are essential to the solutions. We know that when their quality of life improves, families are healthier and economies are stronger.",
