Unfortunately due to the severity of the fighting Concern Worldwide was forced to leave in 1992, but returned again in 1996, continuing to support emergency programmes in Liberia throughout the subsequent conflict and to the present day. The farmers are organized into groups, but contracts are undertaken with individual farmers by Tamanaa. De zaden van de boom kunnen worden gebruikt voor waterzuivering en de olie hieruit kan dienen voor consumptie, biobrandstof of producten als zeep en lotion. De plantage geeft jongeren de mogelijkheid de grond te bewerken, de bladeren te drogen en verpulveren, de olie te persen en waterzuiveringsinstallaties op te zetten. De eindproducten kunnen worden verkocht op de lokale markt.
