In that view, water is a key element. Given its expertise in this field, PROTOS particularly stands up for equitable, sustainable and participatory water management in the North and the South.\r\n- Equitable water management assumes solidarity amongst all users, whereby each individual has the right to sufficient water quantities for a well-balanced human development.\r\n- Sustainable water management seeks to optimally use the available water sources without threatening the other users, the environment or the future.\r\n- Participatory water management requires the involvement of each individual and community, including disadvantaged groups, providing the opportunity for them to take control of their own future. In this, a fair gender balance has to be respected.\r\nPROTOS wants to achieve these objectives by:\r\n- Supporting participatory development programmes in the South: via an improvement of access to water, and of distribution and/or valorisation of water, PROTOS aims to improve the socio-economic situation of the local population.\r\n- Being a lever: by strengthening the capacities, the vision and the position of organisations that are able to capitalize on the knowledge fostered by these programmes and capable of making profit of this knowledge in the future.\r\n- Stimulating the cooperation between all parties involved in the planning and implementation of local development, including the civil society organisations and the local authorities.\r\n- Stimulating the debate on the equitable, sustainable and participatory water resources management in both the North and the South. The experiences of PROTOS and its partner organisations are able to contribute to this debate.\r\n",

The Alliance works directly with around 113 Southern partners, with 3 other northern organisations as sub contractors (Both Ends, Practica Foundation, and RUAF/ETC) and a much broader group of southern and northern Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that cooperate within the Alliance.\r\n\r\nComplementarity is brought by strengthening civil society and bringing in innovative approaches, such as covering the full WASH chain within a new framework of sustainability, ICT solutions and supporting WASH expertise centres on innovative technologies. Broad partnerships are build with a diverse array of actors in South and North (CSOs, knowledge institutes, financial institutions, governments, utilities and entrepreneurs). Public participation is enabled through a unique web-based reporting platform, and embedded through the involvement of CSOs in the South and through public campaigning on advocacy issues by Alliance members and cooperation with private initiatives in the Netherlands.",

"description": "Skills Plus, Uganda is registered under the Ministry of Gender and Community Services in particular Jinja District Local Administration Registration NO 122101. Skills Plus, Uganda has now made seven (7) years in existence since it’s inception from 1st October 2006. When the organization begun, its source of funding was from it’s members, well-wishers and Computer Training. The organization had one Computer which was used for both Training and Administration. \r\n\r\n The little fees paid by the Learners, well wishers, Skills Plus founder members, volunteers and Donors has given the organization a sense of direction and continuity. On its establishment, the pioneer Board of Trustees focused on putting in place necessities required by the organization like putting in place an office, a Computer centre, Tailoring centre, HIV/AIDS counseling and Training, Garage where youths would learn the practicals of Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance and a welding workshop where students would come for learning and also making a source of income for the organization and so many others. However, the organization is facing the problem of Limited Resources to meet its needs and the demand of the community she is serving. \r\n\r\nSkills Plus, Uganda continues to play a leading role in providing basic Skills that can improve people’s standards of living. Some of the Skills and activities that Skills Plus, Uganda provide are; HIV/AIDS sensitization, counseling and Training of counselors , Computer training, Tailoring Training, welding and fabrication, Child Support and Nursery teaching and day care program mainly to the orphans, Vulnerable Children, community empowerment in health like constructing a garbage bank or an ash put where the community can dump their garbage to promote sanitation and hygiene in area. \r\n\r\nThis year 2012, the organization has registered some success, more so, the organization constructed a garbage bank worth $2000, this garbage bank is almost serving the whole of Bugembe town council with a population of 60000. This has improved on the health standards of our people. Our Nursery school is also doing well, we now have a population of about 150 kids of which 70% of them are helpless. The organization’s target was to laying strategies for getting volunteers to help it get financial and material support from within and outside (Local, National and International) Levels to facilitate it’s activities and programs. \r\n\r\nThe Board members take this opportunity to thank all its stake holders, more so the volunteers that have sacrificed their time and money to fund most of our planned activities to help us fulfill some of our aims and objectives. \r\n",

Resilience combines new insights and research methodologies from the fields of complex systems theory and scenario analysis, on the basis of profound knowledge of sociology, economics, soil science and agronomy. \r\n\r\nOur aim is to explore and undertake novel activities that contribute to a more sustainable use and management of natural resources. "description": "Uraia is the premier National Civic Education Organisation in Kenya. It has been in existence since year 2000 and has been working to contribute towards the progress of Kenya through the development of it's most important resource – Kenyan Citizens. Uraia began as the National Civic Education Programme (NCEP) when a formal partnership was struck between 70 Kenyan indigenous civil society organisations (CSOs) – who became implementing partners (IPs) – and a group of development partners who undertook a joint funding mechanisms of the Programme.\n\nNCEP was implemented between August 2000 and october 2010 in two phases after which Uraia converted into a Trust. The Trust successfully implemented its first strategic plan that ran from 2011 to 2015. Under this strategic plan Uraia implemented two programmes namely Uchaguzi Bora and Rooting Democrancy in Kenya through an informed citizenry. The Uchaguzi Bora programme goal was to contribute to democratic transformation processes in Kenya, leading to improved governance and nationhood in line with the promises and values of the 2010 Constitution while the Rooting Democracy programme was aimed at contributing towards promoting, securing and defending constitutionalism in Kenya for improved democracy and realization of a just and equitable society. \n\nUraia Trust is currently implementing activities under its second strategic plan running from 2016 to 2020. Uraia's vision is to is attain an informed, empowered and democratic nation. Its is mission is to provide quality civic education and empower kenyans to exercise their civic duty inorder to realize their constitutional aspirations. This will be achieved by programmes focusing on four key focus areas as follows;\n1. Entrenching constitutionalism\n2. Promoting free and fair elections\n3. Addressing the historical, political marginalization of women, youth, persons with disabilities, marginalized and minority groups\n4. Internal execellence.\n \nThe overriding theme of Uraia's work 2016 to 2020 is moving from rights and responsibilities to values and nationhood. Uraia Trust has a board of Trustees whose overall responsibility is to provide strategic direction and oversight. The secretariat which is overseen by an Executive Director comprises of twenty staff who implement Uraia programmes on a day to today basis.",
