"description": "The Organization for Security and Co-operation is the world's largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization, with 57 participating states. The OSCE has its roots in the 1973 Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe (an East-West forum).\r\n\r\nThe OSCE’s mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina was established under the General Framework Agreement for Peace (GFAP), drawn up in Dayton in late 1995 and signed in Paris in December 1995 to end close to four years of conflict. Since then, BiH has faced the daunting task of rebuilding itself as a multi-ethnic, democratic society.\r\nThe OSCE is one of the key agencies responsible for helping BiH make this transition and began its work in December 1995.",

"description": "Born officially in 1947, but with roots that traces back to the revolutionary days, the Philippine Red Cross has truly become the premier humanitarian organization in the country, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations.\r\n\r\nThe story of the Philippine Red Cross is the story of men and women from all walks of life who have dedicated themselves to the service of humanity. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need – whoever, whenever and wherever they may be.\r\n\r\nIn all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership.\r\n\r\nAt present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life.\r\n",

These communities are critically dependent on agriculture and forests for livelihood and face the growing threat of loosing their livelihood options due to fast depleting natural resources base like land and forests. The other most important issue confronting these vulnerable groups is lack of secure tenure over customarily used land and forest resources thus resulting in very poor access and control over these resources. Keeping in view the importance of natural resources for supporting livelihoods, we focus on sustainable management of natural resources along with conservation and promotion of bio-diverse farming through community based democratic institutions. \r\nhe growing concern for supporting an agro-ecosystem that value the traditional wisdom of conservation and management and create toxic free food laid the foundation of NIRMAN in 1997. NIRMAN facilitates participatory approach that promotes local innovations and leadership building process from among the local community.",

BSP-Nepal works throughout Nepal. Biogas Sector Partnership Nepal (BSP-Nepal) is the implementing agency of Biogas Support Programme (BSP) Phase-IV. BSP-Nepal was established as an NGO in 2003 to take over the implementation responsibility of BSP, which formerly was managed directly by the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV). \r\nSince BSP-Nepal took over the responsibilty of implementing BSP Phase-IV, it very much considers itself responsible for the development of the biogas sector, further strengthening and expanding the sector while at the same time interlinking it with the issues of other development sectors. Further, it has also embarked on promotion of rain waterharvesting systems and linking it with biogas promotion in areas where water is scarce.",

We are deeply concerned about the impact of this loss on nature, on people who rely on wetlands for their water, fish and other sustenance, on resilience to extreme weather events, and addressing the challenge of climate change. "description": "Overcome poverty and shape one's own life: this is what the German Development Service (DED) works for. It operates worldwide with organisations in countries where people suffer from poverty and its many consequences on nutrition, health, and the opportunity to participate in social and political life. DED's goal is to improve these people's lives fundamentally. As a public-benefit organisation, DED cooperates with local partners. DED technical advisers are experienced and committed experts on limited-term assignments, who work with local active organisations to induce positive change. DED also works with local experts and specialists to ensure the sustainability of this development process, thereby strengthening local competences and partner organisations' responsibility and initiative, so that local people can shape their future themselves in the long term. DED technical advisers in turn benefit from the knowledge, experience and contacts of their local colleagues. This knowledge is of inestimable value for effective cooperation.\r\nDED also offers young people the opportunity to gain experience worldwide. The Young Professionals Programme is a scholarship scheme which enables young people embarking on a career and university graduates to work in a project during a one-year stay in a DED partner country, to get to know how DED and its partners work, and to develop social competence for living and working in another culture. The Young Professionals Programme is intended to encourage them and, at the same time, enhance their subsequent opportunities to work in development cooperation institutions in Germany and abroad. DED also offers young people aged 18 to 23 the opportunity to participate in \"weltwärts\" – the international volunteer programme of the German Federal Government.\r\nDED operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). With its nuanced range of personnel and services, DED is recognised worldwide as one of the leading European development services for personnel cooperation. Since its formation in 1963, more than 16,000 technical advisers have worked on reducing poverty through sustainable development. Currently, some 2 000 technical advisers are working in 48 countries.",

As a politically and denominationally neutral association, HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation is supported by around 100,000 members and sponsors, as well as 12 regional groups of volunteers. Its team comprises about 1,200 local and 60 international employees (mainly Swiss) engaged in 32 partner countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. A total of 140 men and women work at the Berne and Zurich head offices and at the Lausanne and Balerna branch offices. They coordinate development projects, offer advisory services to government and non-government organisations, and raise awareness about issues facing people in developing countries and the possible solutions.",
