Makaia (Corporación Makaia Asesoría Internacional)

Makaia is non-profit organization that promotes the institutional strengthening of civil society organizations, local governments, non-profit organizations and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that work towards the social and economic development. Makaiameans “build” or “make” in Miskito (an indigenous language from Honduras). This name represents MAKAIA objective of building partnerships and relationships oriented to the social and economic development.

As part of its work Makaia has strongly worked in the area of Information and Communication Technology for Development. Makaia has benefited more than 10.000 years since its creation in 2006. Makaia is also part of important networks such as the Global Knowledge Partnership, The Latin American Telecentre Network (Also Board Member), Telecentre.org, the Colombian Network of Telecentres and the Antioquia Federation of NGO’s.
