Leiden University Fund (LUF) was founded in 1890 and since that date has been committed to maintaining and improving the high quality of education offered at Leiden University. In this context, we provide subsidies to projects conducted by faculties and researchers, and we finance endowed chairs. But students, too, can apply to LUF for support with activities which add value to their studies, for example for a study visit or a research project at home or abroad. Students can also become student members of LUF.
The prime task of LUF is to gather financial support and to make funds available for Leiden University. In addition, LUF is active in keeping former students involved with the university and with one another.
