The Max Foundation was founded in 2005 with the prime goal of combating child mortality. It recognizes that malnutrition and easily preventable diseases are large contributors to under five child death worldwide, particularly in developing countries. Accordingly, it carries out projects centered around water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), nutrition and safe motherhood in Bangladesh and Nepal with plans to expand further in these countries as well as in others. With its business-driven approach the Max Foundation aims to be as effective and sustainable possible via proven and innovative approaches on community strengthening, by achieving maximum impact with scarce resources, institutional embedding, and sustainable market models. The Max foundation envisions a world where easily preventable disease and malnutrition are no longer the cause of mortality for children under the age of five.

The three intervention pillars incorporated in the Max Foundation Projects:
• Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
• Nutrition
• Sexual reproductive health (SRH)
