The INAPL Underwater Archaeology Program was created in 1995 to protect cultural heritage which is under water or in the intertidal coastal areas of Argentina.
The research team has an interdisciplinary character that relates to archeology with aspects of naval architecture, marine biology, materials characterization, conservation and legislation.
Parallel to the scientific research, PROAS provides training and dissemination as well as scientific and technical advice for the management of underwater cultural resources.
