For achieving SDG targets collaborate between Govt, pvt sector, NGOs and Civil Society is important. The “Citizen’s Conference on SDGs in Bangladesh 2017” held in Dhaka on 6 December 2017, highlights on this collaboration.
The daylong Conference was organised by the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh with the slogan 'No One will be Left Behind'. As Secretariat, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is performing the key coordination role for this Platform.
WaterAid Bangladesh along with nearly 70 Partner organisations of the Platform joined this event to showcase their works on SDGs in the different sessions and at stall exhibition at the Conference venue.Apart from the Partners, the Conference was also attended by more than 1000 participants including government officials, representatives from private and non-govt. organisations, eminent scholars, researchers, teachers, students among others.
The core objectives of this conference was to raise country-wide awareness on issues related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with particular emphasis on the pledge of the Agenda 2030 that the marginalised people of the country should not be left behind from the development process.
